  1. a lot of polishing, and even more hard work on the reloading side to ensure that your seating those primers at least .010" below flush. Folks are quick to blame the gun if something fails to fire when most of the time its improper reloads or ammo being used.
  2. Customer requested the gun to be setup to reliable set off Win and CCI primers, if my memory serves me correct he has a 14lb hammer spring which gives right at a 6lb DA and the SA set a bit below 2lbs......
  3. Thank-you Sir for the kind words! We hope you enjoy your pistol.....
  4. John is correct........ However its obviously not going to fix light strikes caused by 10lb hammer spring trying to set off CCI primers. If your having the occasionally light strike in DA and your 100% in SA then its more than likely going to get you where you need to be...... as long as your ammo is consistent.
  5. Just reamed the barrels on a customers Stock II pistols, one of which we tuned and the other he did himself. Ran 100rnds of ammo primed with CCI primers with a 13lb spring in DA only............ and they're 100% reliable..... it can be done dont give up the fight
  6. sorry about that...... hopefully they're re-thinking their idea of not importing them....
  7. Seems like the right hand doesn't talk to the left hand....... this is what they relayed to me a few weeks ago.....
  8. Can you provide a bit more info?.?.?.?.? What gun is this on, is this happening in DA or SA, have you changed springs out to something other than factory?
  9. Wow! You need our new tungsten rocket assist firing pin
  10. When you say hit the wing can you give me an idea of how many passes you took on it?
  11. People still do that.?.?.?.?.? just joking, I completely understand, I just want folks to know that they need to try different combos in their OWN guns before cutting themselves short.....
  12. Not true at all....... these guns should be lighting off CCI primers with either a 13lb or 14lb depending on the tuning job. Some instances you can even drop to a 12lb on the freak guns. Maybe it's time you guys start looking at your ammo if you think the issue is not in the gun. How far back is the hammer coming in DA? Did you hit the wing of the BOLO, do you have a lighter trigger bar plunger spring installed, and how hard have you polished on the area of the trigger bar that the interrupter contacts?
  13. Appreciate the kind words sir! Your correct the hammer and sear engagement was a big issue and contributed to a lot of the creep and excessive weight in your SA pull. Everything else just needed to be hit by our proprietary unicorn tears polishing sauce........
  14. Your looking at hitting the face of the sear leg that contacts the trigger bar, your basically changing the timing on when the SA breaks and ensuring the interrupter has cleared the trigger bar
  15. EAA did not say why, just that they where not importing and it was not listed in their 2017 catalog.
  16. Prod Nats where won with a Stock II, Alex started off with a lim pro...... at nats he had a Stock II
  17. They're no longer importing the Stock and Lim Pro in 2017....... Per EAA
  18. The Stock and Lim Pro will no longer be imported..... per my CIA back channel connection at EAA
  19. It really has to do with feel and i guess you get a "tuned" ear for what it sounds like when the hammer drops. Usually you start with a highly polished FPB and FP, drop the hammer several time sin DA/SA, remove the pieces and inspect for penning around the areas the FPB and FP make contact. Can you confirm you have our Firing Pin Spring in the gun as well?
  20. Out of curiosity, have you verified your not dragging across the FPB with the new pin?.?.?..... I know you where 100% before, was the same spring used, same ammo? Also what did the ever trusted "pencil test" look like with your gun? Just asking as i find it interesting if the pencil launch shows the pencil launching higher one way or another.
  21. If your pulling the trigger (DA) in dry firing your still putting fatigue on the hammer spring. It's the loading and unloading of the Spring that breaks its elasticity down. It doesn't matter if it's live fire or dry fire, if the spring is loaded and unloaded it's a cycle.
  22. Springs are cheap compared to a match that you flew across the country for and saved up a years worth of hiding money from your wife to attend..... all thrown away because of a broken or worn out spring. Seriously though, springs fatigue over time and loose their elasticity which in turn gives a much weaker spring rate than advertised. We did quite a bit of testing with all kinds of springs to see about were these springs begin to loose life. The 5,000-8,000 cycle range was when most began to loose force due to fatigue. We recommend every 5,000 rounds and I'm sure your thinking "well of course you do you sell them". That is true, however I like having a safety factor built into everything to help minimize failure. We noticed springs begin to fatigue at 5,000 cycles; some much keeper than others depending what kind of load their dealing with and how quickly they receive and release that energy. At the end of the day if you are trying to penny pinch I would not save money by skipping out on the hammer spring, recoil spring, and trigger return spring.
  23. In addition to the above go ahead and pull the FPB out of the slide as well, with your gun being SAO its one less thing to worry about if your FP is dragging across it.
  24. I can tell you everyone has their own way of tuning, tweaking parts in the gun, and of course their own set of problems that arise when guys push the envelope of what the gun can reliably run set up a certain way. We're starting to see that there are just to many variables in play to have a constant baseline of what works in a "tuned gun". Ammo and primers of course are a huge variable as everyone has seen lately in threads saying "you have to seat deep!!!". The cast parts that are inside of these guns certainly do not help out as well as tolerances vary and change from part to part. In the end, there is no "Secret Sauce" or special recipe for these guns. The user has to be realistic in what they're looking for out of their gun as far as trigger pull weight and what ammo/primer combo they'll be running. You just cant have a super light trigger pull (Sub 5lb DA) ammo and set off ridiculously hard primers seated at an inconsistent depth. It sucks but we're just going to have to live with the fact that some guns hit much harder than others with the same setup of parts and components. Like i mentioned above i truly believe its a mix between the cast parts, factory machining tolerances, and overall quality control. Not knocking these guns one bit as we truly believe these are the most accurate factory guns you can get your hands on, unfortunately we cant have our cake and eat it too.
