  1. John, you need to move somewhere warm so you dont have so much time to polish your guns during the winter months.......
  2. Completely agreed..... but for the sake of this thread we can at last see what he comes up with as he's done a pretty good job gathering data.
  3. My "Match" gun for sure doesn't go over 5-6K, my practice/Dryfire gun..... probably 8-10K
  4. Memphis, ill get you the hammer springs your missing in the mail this week. It'll help everyone out seeing the consistency from one gun to keep the constant standardized.
  5. You need to pay a little bit more attention to that hammer spring, sear spring, and trigger return spring. They will leave you wishing you had changed them out at the worst possible time for you...... I understand not doing the whole gun, i actually prefer some springs to loose some weight....... I wont chance a hammer spring, sear spring, or trigger return.
  6. We have qty-55 on the way .... If customs doesn't hold things up should have them at the end of next week.
  7. If you cut coils your changing the spring rate........ making it softer
  8. Springs run you about $40, Sear is around $35, Xtreme FPB $15, Titan Hammer $112
  9. its recommended to change out springs every 5,000 - 8,000 rounds.
  10. It is normal for your interrupter to touch the ramp on the frame, however if it contacts it to much it can cause your sear to sit off of the hammer hooks. Are you having any issues or are you just wandering if thats normal?
  11. i would like to have that gun tested for performance enhancing drugs.......
  12. Based off your order your ready to wage war on that thing ......... It'll ship out first thing in the AM.
  13. You need to fit the disco, there are several older threads on here that discuss in detail what areas to hit. You havent changed out the trigger bar plunger spring have you?
  14. Remember the EG medium is marketed as a 15.5lb spring as well........ I need to find the sample pack of 15lb springs i did up........ It seems like there may be a market for 15lb PDO hammer springs.
  15. Funny you mention the 1/2 cock John as i was just chatting with Waktasz this morning about this phenomenon. Some guns on a really slow SA pull will either fall to half cock or graze by it which in turn slows down the hammer greatly. Now i know he's having issues in DA but its possible he's grazing the half cock killing his hammer travel speed. I've seen some tanfo's that have a slight bit of play in the sear housing to frame tolerance that cause them to wiggle around enough for the hammer to fall to 1/2 cock. This however is seen more in the older style guns.
  16. I think the issue with Wolff are they tend to vary in OD and length slightly. This may not be a cause for concern when looking at it with the naked eye it does however cause issues when the spring is under compression and the OD grows enough to contact the pocket wall. Hence why when you cut a coil or two the stacking goes away some because your releasing some of the pre-load from the spring. To elaborate a little more on this, we choose a material that has a higher natural frequency which in turn gives you a faster response (spring returning to its normal state). This is why the majority of guys could drop down 1lb or more with our springs, they just want to return home faster which in turns gets that hammer moving quicker......
  17. NO worries, we're all here to help out. As you know attention to detail with these guns are a huge part on the tuning process. Its easy for another competent gunsmith to look over an area because its not a cause for concern in another firearm platform.
  18. Based off my phone call with this individual he's always caught the occasional light strikes with the gun. He did not perform the work himself so it's hard to say what exactly has been done or fitted in the gun. I'll be making contact with his gunsmith shortly to discuss what has been done on the firearm.
  19. polishing makes a huge difference, what drove me to create new hammer springs was to get rid of the stacking towards the end of the pull........ Dont get me wrong, hammer springs will affect pull weights in both DA/SA but your big difference comes from polishing. Friction can be fun; but not in a tanfo........
