  1. Eric, Sorry to here about your job loss. I was in the same position right after the first of the year. I was out of work about a month. I work as a construction engineer and the construction business in IN is pretty cyclic. I have been laid off twice in the last 2 1/2 years. Keep your chin up and something will come along. As Jim E said they can take the job but not what you learned. Take Care and Good Luck
  2. Lynn, LMAO. That has to be the best blonde joke I have heard in the last year or so. Can't wait to retell it and claim it as my own
  3. John, Congratulations. Now you get to find out how every other father with a daughter feels because he knows what he was like as a young man. Keep the firearms handy. Again congratulations!!!
  4. Well I finally got a D classification. I'm solidly in there with a 28.3%. See Rhino no cheating here.
  5. Rhino, I shoot indoors at a range called Coyote Creek just south of Mooresville. It is a converted bowling alley so it is a little short for some things but it does let us burn powder and lead, We are planning a organizational meeting to elect new officers. The thing that burns me up the most is that these people think because they were elected to an office it makes them king and queen. (Kind of like Bill and Hillary) Oh well they are gone now and we will continue without them. We missed you at South Central today. Sinuses still acting up? Hope they get better soon
  6. BDH, Here in Indy we buy it at a place called Nu-Tec supply. They sell all kinds of matting and geo-synthetics for constuction use. You might also try landscaping contractors who work on highway projects as the states are big on eliminating erosion. Hope this helps
  7. BDH You might want to consider terracing the hillsides. (Stairsteps) Slope the front edges back toward the hillside and then cut ditches around the outside of your shooting areas to direct the run off somewhere other than down the front. Also find a way to get grass to grow so the roots will hold the soil. There is a matting made to be install on slopes that has grass seed, fertilizer and straw that can be rolled out and stapled down to hold the slope until the grass take ahold. It is kind of pricey but it may help.
  8. What I hate is one of the gun clubs that I belong to the president and the secretary/treasure (husband and wife) got their panties in a bunch with the local indoor range that we shoot at and they decided to shut down the club. They were sent several e-mails and got several phone calls telling them that there were people who would step up and take over the club but they say the decision is made and the club will be shut down and we can do whatever we want after they shut down the club. We will probably just elect new officers and go on but their attitude really pisses me off! I believe that there will be alot more work than there needs to be if they would just resign Well I am glad to get that off my chest.
  9. Sig Lady, Will you be doing reloading for others and passing out cheesecake? If so sign me up.
  10. Yeah I know what you mean about not knowng when it will be done. The ColtI am shooting now was left with him before Thanksgiving with a approximate delivery of Jan 1. I finally got it back about a week and a half after the shot show. I had him change the trigger, lower the ejection port, dovetail the slide for a fiberoptic front sight and replace the rear sight. The work was great - the wait was a bi*ch.
  11. Rhino, Who is doing your smithin' work. Is it our friend over in Cayuga? Who ever it is the Kimber is coming along great.
  12. Rhino Yeah, I will be there but to call what I do shooting is quite a stretch of the imagination,
  13. The second sign was when they listened to the vegetatarians (which is the Indian name for lousy hunter) and decided to change the way they made their fries because the grease had animal flavoring in it. If the veggies don't like it go somewhere else to get you fries but leave mine alone.
  14. Another BFG checking in. I recently order the double belt from Shooters Connection in 52". (Did I say that out loud?) Anyway it works great and I had it the next day.
  15. Rhino, I have never shot at Deer Creek but will be at Wabash Valley tomorrow. Try not to laugh too hard when I shoot. See you later.
  16. erice Nice avatar Pit Bull Right? Good Looking dog Used to raise them till the Indiana legislature got stupid
  17. I hate the continual road road construction here in Indy. Not only do we have the pre "Hyper-Fix" making things miserable they have also decided that there should be a major or minor construction project on every other side of town. Monday night I sat in traffic for an extra hour trying to get home and then Wednesday night trying to get to shooting another hour wait in traffic. If they want to stop road rage limit the road construction so we don't have to drive in cone zones everywhere we go.
  18. I use 4.7 grains of Clays with a Precision Bullet 185 gr SWC. Works good for me. I don't have a chrono so I can't say if it makes major but it is accurate and the blast isn't bad.
  19. What is the times for your reloads with that rascal? What mag pouchs do you use?
  20. Duane, Thanks for the letter from Mr. Hamilton. I do not know this fine individual but it's good to know that there are men like him defending this country.
  21. Chriss, Sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in our prayers.
  22. SRT Driver Thanks for the info. I take it 1' apart to be an edge to edge measurement. I will give this info to the gentleman who is going to price up building the plate rack.
  23. Does anyone know the distance between the plates on the Bianchi Falling Plates. I am talking to a guy I work with about possibly building a plate rack and I would like to get it right the first time. I know it is 6-8" plates but if someone has center-to center or edge to edge measurements that would be great. Thanks in advance for the help
  24. Shot this one yesterday. First clasifier in about 4-5 years (Thats right years. I have been letting work get in the way of my fun) 59 points 20 penalty points 25.21seconds Looks like I need alot more practice. Dry firing here I come Oh yeah I still had a blast!
