I ordered a pack of 10 blued .020 moonclips for an 8 round 357 (627). The package did hit the post office and is supposed to be here Friday.

Just an update...I got a tracking number today.

I have a couple of the SDM releases on my 686 and 627. They have great checkering on them. I wanted to buy a few more but I no longer see them on the SDM website.

Following thread as I have an order for moonclips that are awaiting fulfillment. They were in stock when I put in the order but now they show out of stock. Sent an email and got no response.

I have a Foxtrot Mike 9mm BCG. Apparently the CMMG and Wilson firing pins don't fit their BCG. They will sell me a "Maintenance Kit" for 20 bucks. I want to use this rifle for steel challenge and other matches and want to have reliability and ease of getting parts. Am I better off to replace the bolt with one that uses more "Standard" pins and springs? Or should I stick it out and hope for the best? Also, does anyone have a list of which bolt carriers groups will accept Wilson, or CMMG or PSA pins/spring?

I bought one from another company that I thought was purpose built for a gen 4 17. I got it in the mail yesterday and it was a gen three with one of the adapter buttons included. I just ordered one from Jager. The other one will go in my Gen 3 Without and adapters. I hate when companies do that kind of crap!

Lon and Corey.....I have been away from this stuff for a few years, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I am from Camp Hill. The group at West Shore Sportsmen Association shoot IDPA practice weekly. They have been having a bit of "upheaval" in their board...so there may be changes come spring.

I have always said that whoever let Hodgdon take over IMR and Winchester knew someone at the FTC. That gives Hodgdon an incredibly large share of the us powder market. If something happened that Hodgdon shut down...that would be the end of most of us reloaders. Alliant and Accurate are the only other widely distributed US based companies. I be guess that Hodgdon and it's holdings are three times the size of Alliant and ten times the size of Accurate. The rest are based outside of the US.

I am sure that the situation with ADI has not helped the overall powder shortage...but I think there is also unprecedented demand. I was on the fence about how much of an issue demand played in the shortage...but I went and looked at midway to see what kind of deals they have on reloading kits (I have a friend wanting to get started in reloading). Every kit from RCBS, Hornady and Lyman were sold out! That says something!

Before you get too crazy with all of the caliber changes and exotic reloading practices...first get rid of the 168's. The don't stabilize nearly as well as 175's. Get some sierra's and find a load that works. I have had a few rifles act similar to yours and several were cured of the grouping issues by having a new crown cut on the barrel. While you have the gun with the smith (if you have one you really trust), have him pull the barrel and set it back a thread and rechamber the barrel. Unless something is really out of whack with you rifle most will shoot pretty well after having this much done. It sounds like you chamber is cut long and as long as you are running mag length rounds the freebore is going to be an issue. setting the barrel back and the crown will usually do the trick. I have given up on 168's and only shoot 155's or 175's.

I just went through this with a new Gen 4 17. I polished the "." connector and no difference. I bought a "-" and polished it and it still didn't feel very good. At the advise of a local gun shop I put in a Zex connecter. I am running a the Zev race connector, a 5 pound Wolf spring, a gen 3 trigger/bar and a light spring in the safety plunger (with the plunger itself polished). Makes a very nice trigger and resets great.

I have flak jackets and really love them....but my shooting glasses always seem to get scratched up and unusable. A few years ago I started going to Fastenal a couple times a year and buying some clear and yellow lens safety glasses. I just went over yesterday and bout two new pair. The thing I like about getting the safety glasses is that I know they will stand up to abuse. I bought two very nice pair of glasses and my total was $10.45. I use them until they get scratched and throw them away.

Find a Fastenal store and take her over to see what you can find. My local store has about 20 different models of safety glasses in stock. Most are $6.00 or less. If you can't find something that will fit there...you aren't going to find them.

Federal SP primers definitely have the thinnest primer cups. If your gun won't light up federals...it won't light up anything.

I have been thinking about adding an aftermarket trigger to my 17 and have noticed the shape of the ramp on the trigger bar of the Zev Fulcrum triggers has been modified. I have a pair of 17's and both have the Zev connectors. I have polished the strikers, the trigger bars the connectors and noticed on the second glock that after I did the connector, trigger bar and striker...the pre-travel was still fairly heavy. It wasn't until I a striker safety spring and polished the striker did the pre-travel smoothed up. It makes me wonder if it is worth reshaping the ramp on the trigger bar? Has anyone modified theirs...if you did was there any change in the trigger pull?

I would lean towards the 41. 45acp is much more manageable from a recoil department. I have found that 40 cal has a sharp recoil. Even with 180's it's not the easiest to shoot. 45's are big and slow which generates less felt recoil.

If you're asking that question...the answer is a good gunsmith.

You'll wear out just about every other part on that gun three times before you wear out the frame.

try a Zev tech connector in your 19. Polish the trigger bar and the striker. It will act like a different animal. I also shaved a little off the safety bar so I didn't end up with a sore finger every time I shot my 17. A couple small easy to make changes really make the Glock into a different gun.

The straight pull of the 1911 trigger with a decent set of parts is tough to beat. I have shot my buddies M&P with the Apex kit in it and the trigger is not bad. But Apex actually says that they tried to emulate the angles of a 1911 trigger when it breaks, I have been working with the trigger on my Glock and I can see where there it could be set up to be very usable as well. You have to learn to shoot it though with regard to the reset. 1911's a just a very straight forward crisp break. Very easy to shoot.

I would say the M&P only because of the excellent Apex triggers that are available for them

CCI primers have relatively hard cups. try federals...they are generally the softest primer cups.

Too light of a spring is not good for your frame. It will also translate into more felt recoil. The spring is your friend. It will absorb recoil energy.

I had problems with glasses falling off my face or moving around and being a distraction. I bought a pair of Oakley flak jackets which are made to stay put while moving. I really like them and they are very comfortable.

You guys are better than me. I would think that the revolver pulls would totally screw with your rhythm for shooting a semi auto.
