  1. If I was shooting AM I would want to know what the AM winners are using compared to myself and to the PROs. Why? If I was starting out shooting a revolver in USPSA, I would want to know what Jerry Miculek was using, not what the D class winner had.
  2. Look for the M2 American at Dicks. They are the same gun as the $1200-$1300 M2, except they have a regular stock instead of the Comfortech. I have seen them on sale for as low as $799. You'll still have to have the barrel cut down, if you want one like the cool kids have. Look out for used M1Super90's.
  3. Just a different perspective, why would people want to know what EVERYBODY is shooting? I think we will end up seeing a list with 350 Eotechs and Aimpoints, M4 stocks and handguards w/vertical foregrips, and single point slings. While all good combat gear, not really cutting edge 3gun gear. To bring the newbies up to 3gun speed, they probably need to know what the game gear is, not the other way around. I think it would be more informative to poll the Pro side.
  4. You'll have to cut the Nordic spring as well, just saying. I think something is wrong with the gun. Mossburg uses the Choate on the SPX model. I run the Nordic on my Benelli because I didn't want to cheap out on such a nice gun, but have used the Choate on everything else I've had, and they work as well as my Nordic.
  5. We have like 2 bars of 3G at home, so wife and I go to nearest McD's for WiFi. It's closed for renovation. Go next door to Burger King. They don't have WiFi. Getting crazy nervous, so go next door to Panera. They closed at 9:00. So, we sat in the truck with our laptops, up against the building, trying to connect. Get the same "too soon" message. I was ready to call it quits, but she made me wait 5 min., and tried it again. She got my confirm. code at 9:36. She is the best wife, and sorry, she doesn't have a sister.
  6. I think it means she received your entry, not sure it means we're in.
  7. Benning had the same problems. If you got in, it got cached, she will let you know tomorrow. Long night ahead.
  8. Jedi mind trick: This is not the match your looking for, let me pass and into this match.
  9. Lawyers are so sarcastic!
  10. I've already self-fulfilled the prophacy of that user name; I seem stuck in B class. But all I shoot anymore is 3gun, so classifiers aren't going up very quickly. I pieced my parts, did a little at a time. I did the sear first, shot it for a while, then added the USB and Ram. I left all the stock springs in it. Trigger needs getting used to if you shoot 1911's alot, like I do. The price, capacity, and ease of dumping it in a box are all there. I just have to get used to the platform.
  11. I think I'm going to run tac optics this year with a 9L. I added Apex sear, USB, and RAM, SSS big magwell, and TF +6 basepads. I put Dawson adjustable rear and FO front on it. So far, runs like a champ. My first choice was an STI Eagle in 9mm, but I had the 9L, so decided to save a few bucks.
  12. I got 23 in mine, but it was tight. I used a Super Thumb loader until the spring took a set. I wish they would have worked with the SSS magwell, cause the price is definetly right. I'd recommend the longer mag springs too, I had iffy feeding with the 22nd and 23rd round with the factory springs.
  13. I just got my Safariland 6377 from Midway for my M&P, and really like it. I'm wanting to use it for 3gun, and wanted more security than a tension screw, and had been using a Blackhawk Serpa. I much prefer the 6377 over the Serpa, the thumb location is much more natural feeling than the finger button, and construction feels more solid. Prices are about the same.
  14. We are trying to introduce our beloved sport to novices, then expose them to the WHOLE thing. That includes the divisions, whether we all shoot them or not. We don't limit new USPSA shooters to production division in handgun. We are looking at what might be the great mainstreaming of 3gun to the mass shooting public in this match. Shame most will only see 1/5 of what we do.
  15. I'd have made the outer ring a little thinner, the 100m dot a little smaller, and the on/off button a dial. But overall, a good value for the price. Sold my XTR, will run this for a while. Still waiting on the Meopta with BDC reticle. That should be the bomb.
  16. I believe the reticle is calibrated for a 100yd. zero. Inside of 100, impact will be low, the most will be the offset of the scope to bore distance, ~2.5". You'll have to shoot it at increments to figure it out. There are several ballistic calculators that will compute it.
  17. Ford builds a fine car, but if I could build one myself for 2/3 the $, I would, and call it the "Bob". My point is don't be intimidated by the idea of building an AR. If you just want to shoot and not worry about anything but shooting, then a factory built rifle from DPMS is a fine choice. No one supports us more. And the 3G1 looks to be the best out of the box factory 3gun rifle yet. We next need the out of the box Mossberg 930 3g shotgun, and an STI Eagle 9mm. Then go shoot.
  18. Why do you pay some "kids" more to build the exact thing you could build yourself for less? Even if you buy the proper vise blocks and barrel wrench, you'll save money, and be ready to build another. They don't call it "black rifle disease" for nothing. I think the trick is to buy good parts, the rest is plug and play.
  19. In open division only for now. Great choice for open.
  20. Why not just build it? Midway has the barrel on sale this month for $160, and the other parts are easily found. Ar's are so easy to build, it's ridiculous. Thinking of getting the barrel and setting it back until I'm ready to build another upper.
  21. An amatuer is an amatuer. Division really doesn't have anything to do with it. You're only competing with those in your division. Others are tip-toeing around it, so I'll just ask, with utmost respect, would you please add open division to the amatuer match? Figure you won't if no one asks. Even the tacticool guys are running dual optics on their AR's now.
  22. I've been looking at it too. I got a GSG 1911 couple days ago, and saw this on the ATI website. Read it was heavy, so not sure it would make weight.
  23. Got mine from Marshall at Primary Arms. Bundled with his Deluxe extended mount. Best price I've found too, $289.
