  1. I've got the same thing going on. When I had it checked in Oct. it was 19. Last week it was 23. I shoot indoors on Mondays, and have for about 14 years, plus reloading. I heard the same thing about the tumbler being the worse lead culprit in a shooter's house. My Dr. wants me to see a hematologist. I tried shooting with a painters mask last Monday, and hated it, glasses kept fogging up. I may have to cut back on my Mondays.
  2. I use the Briley racker that has two arms on the back that fits in a Bomar sight cut. You grab it with thumb and index finger and slingshot it. It doesn't give much lift off a table start, but doesn't stick way out to the side either, and is ambidextrous for clearing a jam either handed. The only down side I have found is if I switch to my Ltd. gun, I will shred my thumb and index finger on my Bomar blade before I realize I got the wrong gun in my hand!
  3. I have the Caspian adjustable on my Ltd. gun. It has held up great, and has changable blades, too. I like it alot. I also have the STI on my Trojan .45. After a couple thousand rounds, the elevation pivot pin broke in half and started walking out. A call to STI had several replacements on their way for free, but was annoying.
  4. Jerry Miculek was using the Burris Speed Dot at Ft. Benning this year if I saw his gear correctly. He appeared to shoot it very well!
  5. My SD took about 2 weeks, and cost $39. They replaced all the springs and polymer parts, and broken parts. I sent in an extra powder measure, and they replaced the hopper on it too. Runs like new now.
  6. An easy way to seperate rimless from rimmed Super brass, try to insert the rim-end of the case into a RESIZED .40 case. The rimless will go in, the regular Super will not.
  7. I have to give a great big thanks to the AMU gunsmith that fixed my pistol after the ambi thumb safety broke on stage 1 before I could even fire a shot. He saved the rest of the match for me. The half-roof on stage 8 kicked my butt! I got up to where I thought I should be, and slid down a couple feet. It was like the last obstacle on American Gladiator, but without a rope to pull yourself back up. I finished 3rd on the stage 3 and was down right pleased until Jerry M. told me his time was 10 sec. faster. His shotgunin' is a sight to behold. As for the wind on stage 8 on Sunday, that's my excuse. I asked Jerry M. at the prize table if he would leave that DSA FAL for me, and he said he would. Too bad it didn't make it down to where I finished!
  8. I've been checking weather.com, and they are calling for rain for both Sat. and Sun. I hope the forecast changes later in the week.
  9. I went out and shot my Meopta again today, and am going to keep running it. I'm shooting 69gr. Noslers over 25.5gr. of Varget. These are freakin lasers! I zero'd at 200. At 300, I put the center of the dot on his head, and nailed him in the chest , 1moa. At 400, I held the top of the stadia line even with the top of his head, and 10 shots went into his chest that my buddy spotting covered with his open hand. All these ranging reticles got me nervous and thinking I needed a new bow, instead of making the the injun' go practice. My confidence goes up everytime I shoot it. IF I were in the market and setting up a 3gun rifle from scratch, I would definitely be looking hard at Burris and IOR, though.
  10. I am currently shooting a Meopta Kdot, and I love the illum. reticle. I'm going to Benning in two weeks, and I remember the 400 yd. shots kicking my butt. I want a low power variable that has decent illum.,and a ranging reticle that will allow bdc out to 600 yds. I really want a IOR 1.5-8x26, but the $1360 is a bit high for my budget. The Burris XTR sounds interesting, but I'm reading about some fuzz on the some lens and don't want to go down the Millett DMS-1 route again, as far as quality goes. If Meopta made the Kdot in a ranging reticle, I'd buy two. Any advise? I shoot open, with a Docter on the handguard.
  11. The Trijicon rep at Ft. Benning last year told me the same thing.
  12. Where do you get the Wolf primers?
  13. My SBR is an 11.5", and I have an ML2 in a GG&G Accucam cantilever that is a true co-witness. I have it mounted in front of a YHM flip up rear, and everything co-witnesses perfectly.
  14. I got my long awaited email from Linda that I am in, and my Front Sight arrived in the mail. Outstanding day! I was 33rd on the list to start with, if that helps anyone's guesstimate of getting in.
  15. Is there a link to read the rules for this years match? I could not find it in this thread.
  16. I just got a DPMS 11.5" from Brownells. I was suprised to see the barrel was marked "chrome-lined", as this was not advertised in the catalog, and DPMS' catalog specifies "not chrome lined". With my LEO discount it was $153. When my upper and bolt assy. arrive from Del-ton, I will have all the parts to finish my SBR.
  17. Thanks, Linda. I really didn't want to bother you with this right now. As much as we love this, it is only a game. I've said a prayer for you. It IS great to hear from you, though.
  18. I didn't want to bother Linda with this now, so I will ask you all. I last moved up to #17 on the waiting list back in May, and haven't heard anything since. Has anyone moved up recently, and where are you at on the list? Looking forward to December!
  19. Is 4rds. the largest capacity available for armstec tec loaders? I thought I saw guys loading tubes that held 5,6,or more rounds. If anyone knows of these bigger tubes, link me up please. And who makes tube carriers that can carry more than 2 tubes at a time? I think I am moving away from the Saiga, and going back to the bottom feeder open shotty.
  20. I used the Warne medium rings on a Rock River Arms Scout mount to get the correct eye relief with the V3. Half the price of the LaRue. If your not taking the whole optic on and off, the return to zero of the LaRue is a non-issue. $65 for the Scout mount, and $55 for the Warne rings.
  21. I think the new rules suck! And 17 of you should drop out in protest (I'm 17 on the waiting list). Seriously, I plan to shoot my best whatever the rules may be, and have a great time at the best 3 gun match in the country.
  22. Yeah, I know I'll get in, it's just that I swore I would not have to wait on the list like I did last year. Plus my two buddies got in in the 50 range. Linda's email was very kind, pretty much "don't sweat it, I am magic," which she is. I wouldn't want anyone else running this show! Check went out in the mail today!
  23. I'm 33rd on the waiting list, so the waiting game begins. Dial up sucks! I should have had the thing fired up and waiting, but I didn't. Now I have to hope some of you guys forget about the 14th. !@#%$#&!!!!!!
  24. Very good match, Michael! The big stages were every bit as good as some I've shot at big matches. When I asked Flex why he wasn't shooting, he said he didn't have a cool cart to haul around his stuff. You'll have to get him into 3 gun, now. XPD54 and I'll be back next month. Good job!
