  1. If all goes to plan, I'll be moving into a new house in less than a month and my new reloading/gun room will be 11x14. I used SketchUp to make this model the other day. I'm not 100% sure if I want to keep this layout, but now I've got something to tweak for the next several weeks until I get can started on it.
  2. I've had good luck with the Frankford Arsenal Vibra Prime (after a few modifications). I can load 1K primers into tubes in 11ish minutes.
  3. Same, unless I thought it may be a Delta and I was still in a position to easily make it up.
  4. I know someone who uses 4.9 or 5.0gr of W231 under 180gr, but I don't know his OAL.
  5. It's definitely cleaner burning in my 9mm's. I switched to it last year because the smoke from Clays was causing occasional issues seeing targets. I didn't shoot enough of it in 40 yesterday to tell one way or another.
  6. Haha. I'll be sure to test it again when it's warmer, but it was in the mid 80's when I chronoed yesterday. I may go ahead and bump it up to 4.9gr, which got me 174.6PF.
  7. After testing some new loads over chrono yesterday, I'm going to be using the following going forward: 4.8gr WST 180gr Blue Blullets RNFP 1.180" COAL Out of 10 rounds, the minimum PF was 169.2, average was 171.3, and SD was 10.43 fps with a 32 fps max spread.
  8. I tested N320 yesterday at 1.180" COAL using 180gr blue bullets and it took 4.9gr to average 171PF.
  9. Case feeder is practically a necessity, IMO. Next on the list would be a bullet feeder. If you have a tall bench or use a strongmount, an Inline Fab Ergo handle may keep you from having to bend over to pull the handle all the way down. The last thing I would recommend would be good lighting on your bench or some sort of add-on lighting to the press itself.
  10. This is the gear I use to film my matches:
  11. I personally didn't get near the level of accuracy with coated bullets than I did with JHP's out of my open guns. I've heard not to use coated bullets if you have popple holes in your guns, but I'm not sure if there is any actual evidence to back that up.
  12. I handled one of these at a match a couple weeks ago and it felt really nice. Not quite as aggressive as the PT grips to my hands, but very close and very comfortable.
  13. My Hellcats were delivered yesterday. They are definitely wider than Speedcross' and have much more cushion than my current Fuji Runnegade's. I ordered them a half size bigger than my "normal" size and they seem to fit really well. I only wore them for a few minutes walking around my house and yard, but I didn't notice any hot spots or pinch points during that short time. I'm going to try to get them out to the range this weekend and see how they feel, but right now I'm optimistic. @CHA-LEE is dead on about the outsole and tread being much stiffer than Salomon's, but considering that almost all of my shooting is done on dirt, sand, grass, and gravel, I think it will actually be a benefit for me.
  14. Anderson recommends going to https://www.absolutept.com/plantar-fasciitis/
  15. I ordered some Hellcats yesterday. I've been looking for an alternative to my Asics FujiRunnegades, since mine are starting to show quite a bit of wear and they've discontinued the model with no comparable replacement. The old Salomon Fellrasiers fit me pretty well, but I never liked the feel of the Speedcross. The Hellcats were only $47 shipped (clearance on their website), so I figured I'd give them a try before I tried Innov8 or went back to Salomon.
  16. All notch and post type sites are allowed Appendix D4, #13 (page 79): https://uspsa.org/viewer/Feb_2014_Handgun_Rules.pdf 13 | Optical/electronic sights permitted | No, notch and post only
  17. I prefer the EGW paddle. I use them on all of my 2011's. It's a lot smaller than the STI paddle and can be easily positioned so it doesn't interfere with your grip.
  18. Have you looked at Gans? His website says 1-2 week turnaround on most small jobs: http://www.gansguns.com/
  19. Welcome! What part of the Country are you in?
  20. That's what I do. I crimp the mouth with a pair of pliers so it doesn't somehow get mixed back in with the good brass, then I toss it in the scrap bucket below my bench.
  21. I bought 200lbs of world shoot brass from 2014 and I've been slowly working my way through loading all the 9mm and I've been running into quite a bit of this same problem. S&B brass seems to be the most prevalent (3-4% of all the 9mm), especially the NOTOX headstamp. There is a ring around the flash hole, inside the case and my press comes to a hard stop when trying to decap them. The decapping pin will not fit through the flash hole at all.
  22. Welcome, Wrathen, You're 2.5 hours from CORE (https://www.coreshooting.com/pages/competitions-pistol)?
  23. There is a USPSA range in Vinegar Bend. It's probably close to 2 hours from Foley, though. It's $100 per year to join and you can shoot most any time they aren't hosting a match: http://mpsa.us/ There is also the FOP range in Fairhope. It's $50 per year and you can shoot anytime the range isn't reserved for LEO's. It's only a 25yd range, though. http://www.foplodge43.org/
