  1. First, practice the fundamentals (mainly sight alignment and trigger control) until you can hit all of the targets required in a normal match, with no time limit. During the match, don't think about things in terms of speed. Just focus on hitting all of the targets with acceptable accuracy. Once you get rid of those Mikes and No-Shoots, then you should start working on getting faster.
  2. @BadShot, what do you think about this drop turner? I'd like to get some feedback before I make it into a full 10 minute video. Note, this one has sound.
  3. There is a video in the playlist with barriers on both sides of the swinger. Would you prefer to have just one barrier? I've been thinking about a drop turner. It might be a little tough, but I'm going to see about playing around with it tomorrow or early next week.
  4. Welcome! Depending on exactly where you're located, there should be a handful of matches in the area. Check out http://lagator.org/Default.html for Louisiana matches and https://smsps.com/ for South Mississippi matches.
  5. @stick, here is your clockwise rotating star: And here is the link to the playlist I created for all of these videos:
  6. Here is the 10 minute version of the spinning star video:
  7. There are a couple ways I can make the star spin the other direction. I'll see which one is the easiest and work on that later today. Edit: I'm thinking something like this projector (https://amzn.to/2OAFiV6) would make it easy to project these videos on a wall for a better scale. Thoughts?
  8. I ran into trouble while rendering the long Texas Star video, but I should have it up later today. In the meantime, here is a swinger with vision barriers at the bottom:
  9. Here is a 10 minute long video of an open swinger. I'm currently rendering a 10 minute video of the star, then I'll start working on swingers with vision barriers and partials.
  10. I added a PT Evo to my Akai Limited gun.
  11. I finally got this animated swinger to the point where I feel comfortable sharing it. But I need some feedback before I make a longer video. I know it's a little choppy, but I haven't found an efficient way to make it smoother with the current tools I have. Remember you can change the speed with youtube's speed controls. I still plan on doing other animations with different targets, vision barriers, etc.
  12. Yes! If you click the gear icon (or the 3 dots if you're on a mobile device), you can change the playback speed of the video. All the way from .25X to 2X.
  13. Someone on another forum asked about a texas star animation for dry fire. I was able to find a sketchup plugin that allowed me to make it for him, but I thought others might be able to use it as well. I'm also planning on making a star that changes directions occasionally and probably some swinger animations as well. Let me know if you have a request.
  14. http://www.brazoscustom.com/Home.htm Click "Tips and Tricks" on the left side of the page, then click "Slide lock back or not?" That will show you how to trim the followers so they don't hit the slide stop.
  15. I pulled The Warhorse out of the safe yesterday for a glamour shot. Built by Blackdog Gunworks.
  16. We have 2 people that shoot revolver at nearly every match. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  17. Welcome from Coastal AL. You shouldn't have any trouble finding matches near you. I know CAGC in Shorter and EAGC in Phenix City both have monthly USPSA matches. So does DGC in Dothan, but that may be a little far for you to drive.
  18. A 2011. The thigh pad pushes the bottom of the holster out, which angles the grip toward my body. I may have to just adjust the holster where the gun is more vertical, like it was before the thigh pad. Granted, I'm in the middle of moving, so I haven't had time to even dry fire with the thigh pad on. It may not be an issue at all, but it definitely changes the vertical angle of the holster.
  19. I bought one as well. I put it on and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I may end up having to adjust the holster before using it in a match.
  20. I wish I could have seen what you looked like while taking those photos! Ha!
  21. I've had great luck with DPP"s on Everglades single sided mounts. I bounced one of my guns across the floor the night before a match last year and the optic was still zeroed when I got to the range. I've got 4 DPP's with probably 17K rounds between them (on open and CO guns) and never had any major issues. Occasionally they'll start acting weird when the battery gets low, but I've never had one fail.
  22. I had the same problem with a set on my Gen 4 G34. The gentleman at Dawson said to back out the elevation screw about 3/4 of a turn, then get a true measurement of how high your groups are over your point of aim. If you bought your sights from Dawson directly, they will send you a new front sight free of charge. If you didn't buy them directly from Dawson, you'll need to use their sight height calculator (https://dawsonprecision.com/sight-calculator/) and order a new front sight in the correct height.
