  1. In the Virginia area several matches use Nevco targets.
  2. I shoot USPSA open minor right now and am looking to step up to shooting major, to do that, I plan on taking advantage of the awesome deal lone wolf has going on right now, free barrel with slide purchase. I have a glock 35 ready for a new top end. I currently have a 9minor open slide on a 17, I am wondering/looking for input on wether to get the new slide to make 9 major or 40? I reload so either one is not a problem. If I get the 40 should it be threaded for a comp or get the pre-ported model ? Any help would be appreciated. I plan on making the purchase by FRiday. I have powder to load 9major and I believe 40 as well, so right now the availability of powder does not play into the decision. Thanks for all of the help in advance.
  3. Take the trigger group out and clear/ widen the channel out that you can work in. Can you use your bent pliers to come up from the bottom to grab the piece and push up from the bottom of the frame.
  4. Small needle nose. Pull straight up/ out. Good luck.
  5. In my setup, federal is always, and cci is most of the time, but not reliable. But I have heard that win are just above federal in sensitivity. I once saw a chart that rated them but have not been able to find it again.
  6. I would recommend a maverick 88, great price and are made by mossberg. Some of the parts are actually interchangeable. As for ammo, bird shot is the way to go. If you live in an apartment or town house, the neighbors might not like the heavy buckshot rounds coming through the walls.
  7. I have a square deal and I love it, once I get into a groove and have presort end the brass I can get 500 in about 1.5 hours. The best I have done is 500 in an hour and fifteen.
  8. S&W mp 22 so that when she is ready she can easily transitsion to the rest of that line. They make a compact as well.
  9. I had this problem as well, so I went with a pair of oakleys. They just opened up their range for the outer limits of prescription. I believe that they are at -7 now.
  10. My doc is a shooter and a few members of the club have actually brought in their pistol, unloaded and clear of course, to get the vision test and script for glasses made. I am in virginia beach, va.
  11. Try the-armory.com for wolf gold, under $305 plus shipping last I checked.
  12. No I saw the same price, the-armory has wolf gold under $305 for a thousand plus shipping. That is brass cased ammo. So it seems that with time and effort coupled with the lack of powder reloading 223 is becoming less cost effective than a year ago when it was $.50 a round.
  13. Not enough bell, I had this problem and once I opened it up, no more shavings on the plate.
  14. The shop I work at part time got one in, afro interfering with an Apex trigger install, the tiger is really nice and I doubt that you will want to install one. I do wish that they would have put four ports on the 40, maybe they didn't so that they can stay at a major PF.
  15. Had some prescription Oakley's made. They just widened the band within which your vision can fall to get the digital wraps, boy are they clear and no loss of coverage anywhere. I have a set of ESS crossbows with the insert as a backup.
  16. I use Trail Boss, I load it light for plinking purposes and with the way the powder is designed no way of ever having a double charge and not knowing. It will fill the case, but that is what it is designed to do, and can be compressed.
  17. I shoot an open glock in minor, I too will one day pursue the move to major, but for right now my scores and ability are not limited by the bonus you get from shooting major, more by the lack of time on trigger, and the availability of powder to load for major on a consistent basis. I have a slide mounted optic, and a heavy Zev Tech magwell, a carver 3 port comp and a storm lake barrel. The bonus of the minor gun is that I can shoot the local steel matches without much regard to ammo choices, they prefer not major loads, and I don't have to remember which bullets are loaded for major versus minor. Once I do major I will order some Bayou or other moly coated bullets in a color that will be specific to those loads. Remember if you build a minor open glock, depending on how you mount the optic, with two slides you can play both with he same lower. Thus only one expense for a magwell and trigger job.
  18. I case gauge every round, but lately I have been presorting out head stamps to sort out ones that I have problems in the press with or that traditionally fail to gauge. This has cut down the failure rate significantly.
  19. I use the "Dummy" rounds as well the letters stay in for a while but there is no mistaking them for live ammo. These are really good for loading practice.
  20. I used to have the same problem, my primer cup was out of specs. Kind of a pain to return to spec use a good set of calipers and adjust the cup.
  21. Like many if you I imagine I enter a lot of online drawings for free gear, guns and such. I see the deadline come and go and never any post about who won. I don't care that it is not me, yeah I do, but I just wish to know that someone won. Thoughts.

    Zev Magwell

I use one of the heavy magwells no problem with mine just check to make sure it is tight every now and then. Six matches in no problems so far. I have one for the gen 3 guns though.
