  1. I just fit a nitro fin on my Rock. Does anyone else complete with theirs? Making my way to B class in limited. Should be there soon. I am also competing at USPSA nationals with this gun.
  2. I use this profile, I opened up the bell a hair more, I also found some brands of brass work better than others.
  3. I am looking at installing a Nitro Fin on mine. Any one done that yet? I shoot a lot of USPSA with mine and it runs great, really love the MBX magazines, yes I know they are pricey and I also have a couple Dawson ones, but the MBX ones run really nice.
  4. I have the Caldwell and for the price is an awesome kit. The app is nice and allows for you to save data pretty easily. My range us not the best lighted and the inferred kit works when others won't.
  5. Like others have said, without an extension you will need to be more deliberate in seating the mag to ensure it is up there and locked in. I have both a Dawson a Zev. I prefer the Zev I got the heaviest one they make.
  6. I have both a square deal and 650. I reload primarily on the 650. The SDB is for when I load 45. Read too many stories about primer tubes going bang, trying to fit a large primer into a small hole. The ram on a 650 will push it in, the SDB I feel that I have a better feel for Not cramming in the wrong primer.
  7. Rock island 2011 5inch, a 16-40 clone. Full rail. Limited on a budget.
  8. I use 4.3 with 180 gr blue bullets at 1.135 made major pf at Uspsa area 8 match.
  9. I have found that with coated I need less powder to make power factor.

  11. Watch your grip screws. Just noticed that I lost one today. Have to call rock island in the morning.
  12. I would venture a lot of that has to do with aftermarket product support. It is heavy, but it stays flat. I think the biggest drawback is the avaibility of parts and mags, not the actual gun themselves. Most open guns are frankenguns anyway.
  13. I orginally planned to do the same thing. I am currently shooting a rock 2011 in limited. For the money it is hard to beat. As for open, weight might be the only draw back, they are heavy guns. But fur the price savings you can buy a lot of ammo to practice.
  14. Work at a LGS haven't sen one yet, and I have been looking.
  15. Sounds like a good trade to me. Unless one is a backup to your comp gun.
  16. Thanks. Ordered the gun only after knowing mags were available. Now only to find base pads.
  17. Looking at getting a 2011 rock island 40. Who makes the mags and other than MBX. Are there mags that work out of the packaging. What is the ease of finding them?
  18. I recommend an extended slide release, as to the minus connector, see what is allowed before lightning the action too much.
  19. Thanks I was only seeing the other one listed under grand power
