  1. I ran the JP Ultra LMOS and the lightest spring from the captured spring kit at Tarheel last week. It ran great and really changes the feel of the gun.

My Gray Guns rear has a Dawson .100 width and .230 tall. This sight is my favorite so far. Nice deep notch and very sharp sight picture. I have a Heinie on another gun that has a Dawson .100W .250T.

I just finished shooting the 2015 Bushmaster/Tarheel 3 Gun Championship in North Carolina and am very happy to report that the P320 turned out to be a very capable 3 Gun pistol for me. This one has had all of Bruce Gray's work done to it, along with full grip texturing (done by me), and some Springer Precision extensions with modified CZC TS springs and followers. Coming from a CZ platform it was very refreshing not having to worry about a DQ from a safety coming off in a dump barrel. I can only dream of my shotgun running half as well. Word on the street is that Robin Taylor is working on some slightly longer extensions that will still be under the 141mm limit so I am hoping at my next multigun match I will be running around 23+ rounds instead of the 21 which took a lot of work to achieve.
  4. That....In the striker fired world: Springfield XDM 5.25, Glock 34, Smith&Wesson M&P Pro, Sig P320, HK VP9, FNS, Walter PPQ (i've never actually seen one at a match, but they are nice guns) In the Double/Single world: CZ 75 (shadow, accu, sp01...), Tangfo stock II or stock III, Beretta 92 (I shoot one and it works better than I do), Sig P226, HK P30L Sphinx (I don't know much about these other than they have a good reputation), Grand Power X-caliber (I'm thinking of getting one to try). Now if only I can find a job I can get one of each.... I would drop any Sig and H&K from any sort of competition list. But I can agree with almost everything else here. The SIG P320 is very competitive now and will see additional competition-centric improvements in the near future. It know a guy who just made GM in Production while shooting one and it's proving to absolutely be a platform that can win.
  5. Yeah that's light. I heard its disposable though. Like 5,000 rounds? Any longevity testing anyone? The instructions mention that it could ware out in as little as 10K rounds but some of the original ones have exceeded that lifespan. Also, if you are a 1 to 2k a year AR shooter like me then that's not too bad. The instructions also say to run it wet so I at coating it with liberal amounts of Lucas Extreme Duty Gun Oil.
  6. Another vote for Lucas Extreme Duty Gun Oil here. It's nice to have an oil that stays where you put it.

I don't have direct experience with the Springer one. My assumption is that either one will get the job done. Guide rods are pretty basic but if push comes to shove I know that Bruce is the master of all things SIG so he is my first choice.

In the meantime here is some more P320 fun from the local but ambitious match last weekend. I am about 3,000 rounds in on my Bruce Gray tuned P320 and so far it has been 100% reliable.

  11. What epoxy and what media do you use? For the last set of cz grip panels I used jb weld and this http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/little-fury-fine-blend-%2830-60%29-blasting-grit-50-lb Awesome! I have been using rock polish grit from Harbor Freight but the bags are very small and I would love a black option. Can you post pictures?
  12. Not a camera drone but it saw this the other day and think it could be great for capturing USPSA action http://shop.soloshot.com
  13. I second the recommendation for that app. It's really enlightening (i.e. depressing) how bad some of the food I regularly eat actually is. I have two family members who both lost a lot of weight used that and app to bring awareness to food choices. For just weight loss that (correct diet) will get you way further than moderate exercise. The first day I downloaded it I took a client to lunch at Uno and went over my daily cap in one meal. I need to get back on it again as that made me too sad to continue on.
  14. Get the SLR Rifleworks Sentry 7 gas block. Better mechanism and a little window that allows you to clean without taking your rifle apart. I have one from last year that I will be taking off my rifle that doesn't have a home yet. Just bought a new one for my new build. - 100% Gas seal allows full cut off and prevents gas from fouling metering screw - Complete disassembly is simple and take less than 10 seconds - Metering screw and screw bore design allows repeatability and reliability only SLR has been able to deliver - Single tool click to adjust gas metering - 1095 Laser Cut Spring Steel leaf spring - NO tiny springs to corrode, break or seize / NO tiny ball to seize or get lost - USES STANDARD GAS TUBE
  15. That would be perfectly legal for USPSA Production Division. The TS has an LPA cut. I don't know the sight cut on the Stock 3.
  16. It depends on what you are shooting. If I was shooting the P09 in USPSA Production division I would go with the decocker since using the decocker you can leave the hammer on the half-cock notch instead of having to manually lower it all the way. That will reduce the pull length and weight of the first double action shot.

    G34 v G17L

The 34 is easier to find and is also legal is USPSA Production division.
  18. Finishing at 2 or 3 is pretty common. Sometimes even later. It's even worse when you add one or two hours of travel time onto the end of that. I have two young kids at home so it's hard to justify taking off all day too many times in a month. There is a smaller local club that I have been attending regularly that caps the match at 40 shooters, only shoots 5 stages, and typically gets done around noon. It's also only 30 minutes away so it makes the whole package much easier to sell.

The Heinie fits well. The Warren over hangs.

It does look really good tall. The front sight is often milled lower some that could leave you need something even taller on the front.

It sure looks like the Charger rear sights would fit. Again, it's just P226 dovetails. You just have to watch out for some styles like the Warren that will hang over the rear of the slide a bit. I am excited to see what Dawson comes out with. Maybe they would cook up an adjustable too?
  22. Gotta do something until the Techwear show up. It was nice shooting with you and your wingman. Looking forward to doing it again sometime.
  23. Glad you made it out. QPS does a great job and come April there will be no shortage of local club matches to attend on the weekend. Please let me know if you need anything or have questions that I can answer.
