    G34 v G17L

I've been shooting my 19 for some time, and want to get a little more serious. Besides a few mods, I plan on shooting stock. Is the frame of the 17 and the 34 the same? I appreciate all the input. Thanks

    G34 v G17L

Wanting to use a Glock for 3-gun, why are people more apt to get the 34 instead of the 17L? What does the 34 offer that the 17L does not have? Thanks
  3. Pat, is your gun a 26" or 24" barrel? The picture you posted, if I were to purchase just one extension tube what would be a good all around number to have in the gun? Another post you commented on in the past, if I remember correctly, you said you sometimes will add a +2 to the extension you already have on your SG. So if I am guessing correctly depending on the stage, i could add another extension to the all purpose extension all ready on the SG and swap out the spring and be set? I saw a video where you installed a magazine tube upgrade; it seems an ideal setup would have a permenant tube and add a +2 to it if necessary rather than daisy chaining several extensions together. With other Benelli SG's there seems to be many upgrades shooters make to them. Besides the tube extension, there really is nothing more to do? I am just getting started and will not go crazy to begin with. I have been ordering gear and parts so when I return from deployment I will put it all together and get to a match. Would a +6 give me 11 +1? Todd
  4. Looking at a Super Nova 26" for Heavy Metal. What is the largest extension tube that can be added without extending past the barrel to far if at all? Is there anything else to be done to the SN for 3-gun? Thanks Todd
  5. I picked up some Berry bullets, 124gr RN today. Still looking for some 231 or bullseye. I have only shot/reloaded 115gr RN in the past. For 3 gun, is there a certain velocity the round must travel to be legal?
  6. burket, I contacted Green mountain, no joy there. Thank you for the recommendation.
  7. Guy and Superdude, thank you for your responses. Guy I had to look up Brisance: is the shattering capability of a high explosive, determined mainly by its detonation pressure. From what I am understanding, I can buy a large quantity of small rifle primers and use them interchangeably between a 9mm load and a .223/5.56 load. Since it has been a long time since I reloaded 9mm, I will be starting from scratch. I plan on using the round for 3 gun. (eventually) when I get a shotgun. I have usually shot a 115gr round nose, stay with that or move more to a 124 or even a 147gr bullet?
  8. Can someone tell me the difference in magnum small pistol primers and regular small pistol primers? I also was reading a forum where people were using small rifle primers for small pistol primers. They said the size is the same for small pistol and small rifle primers, unlike large rifle and large pistol primers. Can the magnum pistol primer and the regular pistol primer be used interchangeably? IF so is it a matter of adjusting the amount of powder? If you can use a small rifle primer for a pistol, does it have the same "charge" as a small magnum primer, or greater? Would you use the magnum for a heavier bullet? Thanks
  9. I am looking specifically for 231 or Bullseye powder in the Denver area? I have checked with Bass Pro Shop and Cabelas. I am relatively new to the area. Thanks
  10. Does anyone know of a store in or around Denver that sells 3 gun gear and has it in stock? I would like to look/touch before buying.
  11. I am reading on the JP website that they sell both a "conventional" spring and buffer and then they also sell a captured spring buffer. The Captured spring buffer can fit both a carbine and a rifle. They also sell a spring and a low mass buffer, the spring is either rifle or carbine. Mark, did you use the captured spring buffer or the spring and low mass buffer? What does a low mass buffer do compared to a regular buffer? Would a low mass buffer be better for my rifle than a regular buffer?
  12. Did you put a rifle length spring in a collapsible stock, or does your gun have a rifle stock?
  13. What should I look for in a buffer and buffer spring. Shooting an 18" barrel carbine with an adjustable gas block. I see springs going from $4.00 to $40.00. Why, and what is gained? Todd
  14. Can i get a break down on some of the acronyms? MG CMJ
