  1. Airsoft is the answer if allowed.
  2. "It shoots low and to the left," said every first time Glocks shooter ever.
  3. Team HiPoint? I would love to wear that shirt.
  4. So here is your problem. Ever since Obama came into office there has been a major gun grab by the public trying to stock up in advance of the impending next assault weapons ban. We all did this to ourselves and every time you see ammo on the shelves and buy and stock pile every box you are part of the problem. The laws of supply and demand are driving up prices on what you can find. DHS isn't stockpiling ammo as part of a conspiracy. Iraq and Afghanistan didn't help. People are now settling down a bit and I am seeing much more on the shelves. I think we are out of the rough for a bit but I think ammo hording by the public is the new reality that will continue to affect price and availability.
  5. In before the lock. It means he commented before the flame war erupted causing the forum moderators to lock the page.
  6. No, Tungsten guide rod will not put you over the limit for Production.
  7. Try tungsten guide rod instead. What division are you shooting in?
  8. It would slightly change the balance of the gun but not significantly. I would rather have weight added in other areas of the gun if you were looking to change the way the gun feels in recoil.
  9. I can't say I like the "tactical" mag well.
  10. The closer you pull the gun in when reloading the greater your muzzle angle will be. Your reloads are looking good. Try practicing with reloading the gun further out. It is more difficult but can be a little faster if done correctly. Also, geometry says that your right elbow might be a point of focus for practice. The more that drops the greater the angle. See if you can push that elbow to the right on your reload instead of just down.
  11. Here is the one that was watching that has all of the seemingly stage specific chanting:
  12. Maybe you are trying to look over your sights as you breakf your shot too see whether you hit the steel. There is no C Zone on steel and if you are waiting to see it fall or hear it ring then you are doing it wrong. Stay on your sights and ensure than your focus is there and not trying to cheat and look over watching for the fall that will never come.
  13. name="a matt" post="2114806" timestamp="1393790153"] What is the rule about touching leaning on a vision barrier? I see so many people using walls for support too. Not with the hand but like the forearm crap. I know that not right. Is that only up to the RO to call? Was this during a weak/strong hand exercise? That case was stated above and I haven't seen much use beyond that unless it's grabbing onto a batacade to lean way around once side for a tough shot on a field course.
  14. What about this http://www.hdforums.com/forum/attachments/dyna-glide-models/195191d1310054697-rifle-scabbard-captain-america-motorcycle-stuntman-2.jpg Or this http://www.tigersweat.com/movies/arizona/ariz07.jpg ?
  15. I have an honest IDPA question. I was watching a match video and before each stage it looked like the shooters were required to yell some sort of stage specific line. Is this normal at IDPA matches and do you have to do it? Is there any support in the IDPA rule book for it?
  16. I usually check with others too before going through the company. It's nice to know whether or not it's just you and whether there is a simple fix first. I see nothing wrong with sharing honest observations. I am confident that the company will step in to help to diagnose and resolve. I see them standing behind a lot of 3GN shooters so it's obvious that this community is an important one to them.
  17. The IDPA Classifier doesn't seem to resemble any IDPA competitions in general.
  18. Pretty sure any top shooter in Production/SS etc. would want a slide stop that functions. Limited and Open has enough rounds in the gun to get away without using it.
  19. I would yell "Stop" the minute the 3rd party handed a mag to the competitor. You can't ignore the fact that the shooter was either going to a: receive a bunch of mike and FTSA penalties, or b: burn a bunch of time going back to retrieve a dropped mag. Having a mag handed to him gives this shooter a huge advantage. Unfortunately so does a re-shoot, but that still feels like the appropriate course of action to me. It feels right to me too but I can't find a place in the rule book to support stopping immediately to be the correct call. I suppose if we think there is a safety issue with the other guy who is running through the course of fire to hand the magazine to the shooter then it could warrant an immediate stop but otherwise 8.6.4 seems to say let him finish and offer a reshoot. Like I said preciously, this screws up the stage enough that my first reaction would be to stop it then and there and order the reshoot.
  20. I have pretty large hands so in my case it was my right hand thumb on top of the safety and just barely touching the slide stop. Do you shoot with both thumbs forward? Where's your left thumb? Thumbs forward. I will can provide a picture tonight. On Glocks I also switched my right hand thumb to ride on my left hand instead of on the gun. CZ is a bit different since I use the larger safeties and wanted to make a habit of riding the safety always to ensure it stayed off and to make it easier to shoot from cocked and locked.
  21. Is this how 3 Gun Nation started up?
  22. So I feel very comfortable in saying that the competitor should be offered a reshoot and the other guy could be getting a procedural at the discretion of the RO. Previously I said that I would stop him right there (after the other guy handed him the mag) and issue a reshoot but given the rule (8.6.4) it doesn't say to stop him, it says to offer a reshoot. In this case then the right call might have been to let him finish shooting, unload and show clear, and then ask if he wants to reshoot. It's very clear that reshoot is in order but I don't know when you would yell "stop."
  23. I have pretty large hands so in my case it was my right hand thumb on top of the safety and just barely touching the slide stop.
  24. Pretty sure that would be illegal as the NY SAFE act covers converting magazine. I don't think this would be a good idea unless the zombie apocalypse is in full swing. (8) Such person possesses a large capacity ammunition feeding device.
