  1. Yes, it looks like a C-More STS on an SP01 See it at 15:50 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDi0_VDAcQU
  2. At the Shot show a couple of years ago Angus was showing of his gun with a milled in dot. It looked awesome. It was on the Nutten Fancy video.
  3. It's a pretty painless upgrade. You can change the settings in Media player to capture new music as MP3 instead of the default format. What do you mean about keeping your files?
  4. I think the srs1 and srs2 are for non shadows , aren't they? Right. Sorry, for some reason I thought you were talking about a short reset for a B. I would be interested in try it next time I need one for a Shadow.
  5. It works well but you need to buy the SRS 1 or SRS 2 kit to go with it. Those are a great purchase anyway since they improve the timing and feel of the plunger action. They also now sell an non drop in for the shadows that can provide the absolute shortest reset. I should mention that I think CZC also custom fit this part for trigger jobs they do.
  6. My point is that no one gives him a procedure for shooting it that way.
  7. Sure. The main reason is that I've only go so many rounds and so many magazines on me. I'm in the Army and I am also a patrol officer for a municipality. It might not be so bad in a military capacity where I've likely got a bunch of magazines, but then again if I do run out I'm going to wish I hadn't left a bunch of perfectly good rounds on the battlefield behind me. As a cop, I know that the average gunfight is just a couple of rounds and the likelihood of even needing to reload is slim. However, there are exceptions. If I have to run into an active shooter (or 2 or 3) situation, say in a mall, my round count may be much higher. I've got 2 spares on my duty belt. If I reload every time I get a short break in the chase I will quickly run out of magazines. If I'm working plain clothes, I may only have one spare. Those rounds become that much more important. Aside from that, while I can separate a game from reality, in USPSA it is often advantageous to drop a half empty and load another when you are in the open with several targets still facing you. There is no emphasis on cover or tactics. In a game you know how many targets you have left - in reality you don't. USPSA cares about speed/accuracy/power. If you are trying to win, you must sacrifice a couple of other defensive skills. Again, I know it's a game and not training, but I tend to not gravitate to a game where I MUST compromise certain tactics in order to be competitive. IDPA has plenty of rules that I dislike. The difference is that when I don't like a rule it's normally because I can't do something that I would do, rather than having to do something that I wouldn't do. For repetition, I would rather be restricted from something I would do than encouraged to do something I wouldn't. Like I said, it may not be a big deal for the vast majority of situations. But I can see enough in my life where I don't want to instill that as a habit. I simply feel that since my gaming time is limited I should pick one that best supports my primary goal and that is tactical shooting. Nothing says you can't shoot USPSA according to your tactical preference. That is one big difference. Shoot is however you want, you won't get penalized, and you can maintain your personal tactical priority. The same cannot be said for IDPA.
  8. Careful there -- Amidon has ruled in the past that a magwell that was incredibly beatup from reloading practice on a Glock rendered the frame illegal for production due to wear, IIRC...... That is what several years of reload practice did to my gun. Luckily I it never pushed me into open.
  9. Congratulations on the clarification. It looks like B class is no too far away. Beautiful gun. I highly doubt you see anyone else with one like that in his holster on the range.
  10. Once upon a time they ran pin matches at Impact Guns in Ogden. Stop by there and they might have info on other shooting opportunities.
  11. You're being obtuse, or you want to know the IDPA rules for awarding prizes? If everyone has a chance to win, then by your reasoning, everyone should be attracted. ... Unless your chances of winning a gun at another match are based on skill and you have skills.
  12. I can't think of any. You can shoot an indoor USPSA style .22 match in Logan some weeknights but otherwise the action is on Saturdays. Check www.utahshooters.org for more info.
  13. No, discussion here was about the 75 Shadow not the 75 SP01 Shadow that has the rail. It sounded like CZC could likely still put a 75 Shadow together for you if you really wanted one.
  14. And at the buzzer I would turn around and run away. After dialing 911 of course.
  15. Frankly I haven't used it in ages but it used to be the standard before iTunes came along. I really like Google Music now since I never have to worry about managing those 20k songs on local hard drives again. There is a local client to upload songs but the actual interface is from the Web browser so I can access it from anywhere. It is also definitely the way to go if you have an Android phone since you have access to all of your music from anywhere on your phone as well.
  16. The Stinger is good to go. I checked mine and I am right at 2 without having to cant it in or otherwise modify. I have a Blade Tech DOH as well but prefer the Ghost given its better range of adjustability and the way it contacts your body below the belt. It feels much more secure than having everything hanging completely from the belt like the DOH.
  17. If you are hard core "tactical" and "real world then IDPA might appeal to you. This may be calling out the wrath of Bill Wilson but USPSA just produces better shooters. As far as I know the best IDPA shooters are first and foremost USPSA shooters. I personally think USPSA is both more fun and more challenging. More fun because it's fast paced with more rounds down range. My challenging because allowing shooters to shoot freestyle gives them the flexibility to be creative and push the boundaries of gear, stage planning, and technique. Also, since there are more top shooters in USPSA there is more competition and more chances to learn from the best. All trigger time is good trigger time but if I had to pick it wouldn't be a hard decision
  18. Have you considered music.Google.com? You can upload 20,000 sings to them cloud for free and stream or download them from anywhere. I also signed up for the $7.99 ($10 now) monthly music service where I can play anything from the entire store whenever I want.
  19. Dawson has a really nice adjustable rear that fits in the factory cut. https://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=8000192F-1392410791
  20. Also, at first I would say don't sell your gear but after thinking on that a bit I have changed my mind;in you think it will be several years then sell what you won't be using. Coming back into the sport it's almost like starting over from scratch because so much has changed. Sure, I could use may old gear but the state of the art has changed considerably. This issue must true in 3 gun which resembles a totally different sport then what it was when I use to play. Even shooting production my gear is no longer top of the line and I don't think I could sell most of it for any kind of reasonable price. Also, coming back in fell like a good time to try new things so I took the opportunity to switch from Glocks to another platform. I have 3 tricked out Glocks in my safe now that see very little action and it makes me a little sad.
  21. So what about shotgun lube. Do you run the same thing?
  22. I have shot relatively few matches over the last 10 years. I got married, we now have two kids, and I moved away from my local club. Family needs to come first. When my boys are old enough I hope we can start going to matches together but for now I am trying to keep it to one match per month if I am lucky. I still have all of my gear and have been modernizing my 3 gun gear in hopes to be able to sneak away more often but I figure that shooting will always be there waiting for me when I am ready to come back full time.
