  1. I like WST for my 9mm. I use 3.6 grains with 147 Gallant Bullets at 1.135" and have never had an issue with leading. I am shocked at how clean my barrels are after a match. Funny, I just bought a pound of Titegroup to play around with for my 147's.
  2. Yeah, you can just hold the primer tube up to the tray and they’ll go right in. A lot have removed the black piece from the filler. I haven’t only because mine works ok (for spp) with it in place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I was able to get mine to work fine with win spp. I did clean up any flashing left over and lightly sanded the hole for the primers. If you haven’t, google vibraprime fix, there should be a few videos pop up for you. Win lpp do what you’re describing though.... Good luck with whatever you do. When it works it’s great, but is really frustrating when it doesn’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I upgraded from a 550 to a 650 after about a year. At that time, I didn't have a lot of free time to dedicate to loading ammo, so I wanted to maximize whatever time I had. The 650 with a case feeder really allowed me to do that. I also liked the idea of a powder check. Especially since my kids would be shooting my ammo. It serves as a double check to my eyes. Would a 1050 be nice? Sure and so would a BMW, but neither make sense from a practical standpoint.
  5. Yeah, especially because I was getting ready to buy one when that happened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Unfortunately, he stopped making the PAL filler.
  7. I'll second this. While I didn't buy from him, I used plans he posted online when he was starting out. I only went with a single vs a dual drum setup, but can do about a 1/4 to 1/3 5 gallon bucket of 45 brass at a time. I use Armor All Wash/Wax and Lemishine. Comes out spotless and stays that way. I'm loading 9mm now using brass I cleaned last year. It still looks like it did when I took it out of the drum. If you can weld or know someone who does, it wasn't too expensive going this route. I want to say right around $300 if I remember correctly.
  8. I like my Gempro 250. It looks like they have increased in price since I bought mine though. Looks to be around $150.
  9. Best investment I've made, aside from my 650. It's tighter than a Dillon case gauge on both 45 and 9.
  10. Check to make sure the ejector wire isn't rubbing on the case feed slide assembly. That can keep it from moving completely forward.
  11. My current 9mm load is 3.6 WST, 147 Bayou, 1.135. No issues at all. Very accurate and soft.
  12. Yep, he posted this on his Facebook page around Christmas time. Was going to try to get one around that time and was bummed when I saw this. Oh well, guess I'll have to make do with my Frankford Arsenal filler.....
  13. I sent in an email for a replacement indexer ring and spare ejector wire. Replied to my email within 2 days and had the items shortly thereafter.
  14. I've yet to set up my press for processing 223/556, but that will happen here in a few weeks. One question though is, I see where people are running a FL sizing die before the trim die. I've read multiple places that you don't want to do that as the sizing and trimming should happen in the same stage. If it's sized before, the trim die won't have as good a "hold" on the case and can cause problems. Has anyone heard of or actually seen this being a problem?
  15. Looks as if Bayou raised their case prices. Not sure if it is going to go past their current coupon or to lessen the impact of the sale for them. Normally 147gr 9mm is $218/case. It is listed at $227 at the moment. Kind of disappointing...
  16. I'm wondering the same thing. Cant find any reviews on Google. Just messaged them on their Facebook page to clarify the coating they use. It is Hi-tek. Very quick to respond. Tempted to order from them, especially in light of Bayou raising their prices. I had a $600 order in my Bayou cart planning on ordering today, until I read the posts here. Disappointing....
  17. How does the accuracy compare to WST? I shoot 4.2 WST with 230 coated Bayou at 1.250". What is your WST load?
  18. With Winchester SPP, it works like a charm. Winchester LPP, not so much. The last loading session I had, I really watched everything and I came to the conclusion that maybe it's my Large primer tubes that are causing my issue. The primers seem to hang up and not go in the tube smoothly or don't want to drop down the tube as quickly as the small primers do. May try to bevel the edges of the tubes a bit to see if that helps. I'd love the have a PAL or RF100 though.....
  19. I've messaged him a time or two via Facebook. It translated on both ends.....
  20. You can try your local pharmacy, although I doubt they will have it. I had to get mine from Amazon. And I'm a pharmacist who works at a retail pharmacy. We had none and I couldn't find any cost effective way to order any. I paid a little over $10 with free shipping for 2-16 oz bottles on Amazon.
  21. I wet tumble all my brass. I've changed up my process a little bit to be a bit more efficient. My first few batches, I decapped prior to tumbling on a single stage. I then tumbled with Dawn and Lemishine. The last few batches, I've left the primers in and threw in the dehydrator to dry completely. After they were dried, I ran them through a universal decapper on my 650. I know that part is an extra step, but I don't mind. I also changed from Dawn and Lemishine to Armor All Wash and Wax and Lemishine. With the Dawn, I had to use One Shot to lube the brass to run smoothly through the sizing die. With the Armor All, it leaves enough wax residue on the case that lubing isn't necessary. Work for me.
  22. I just bought a job site storage box from Home Depot for this very thing. Here is a link.... I lined it with felt, took about an hour, and filled it up this weekend. Worked out very well. There is a bigger one, but I didn't need one that big.....yet...
  23. I built my bench off the NRMA plans. I didn't use the top cabinet as I have pegboard and shelving above my bench. That thing is rock solid. Mounted my 550 on it and was stable as anyone would need. Bought a Strong Mount and that made things better for me from a height standpoint. Replaced the 550 with a 650 on a Strong Mount with no regrets. The bench is in my basement. I have the parts to anchor it to the foundation, but haven't yet because I really don't need to. It doesn't move one bit when loading. The bench itself is HEAVY. Add brass and bullets to the shelf underneath, and that thing isn't moving at all. I'm considering building a second one to give myself a bit more room and to have a workbench/cleaning area for my firearms in addition to another reloading ready table.
  24. That was me. Wanted to be able to be as efficient as possible with my limited window to reload. I could crank out 300 comfortably with the 550, but can approach 600 comfortably with the 650. I'm glad I had the 550 first. I learned a lot as far as how to set things up correctly and was able to concentrate on each individual step. That was invaluable. Doubt I'll want to go to a 1050 though.....at least not yet..
