  1. Brownells must have ESP or something. I picked up the phone to call this morning about my order and I get an email from them. My flat trigger has shipped, I just received shipping confirmation. Pretty freaky!!!
  2. Aandabooks, that is not a M&P but you are forgiven. I love me some Buckmark and yours looks great. The only 22 pistol I regard as high as the Ruger Mk series of pistols. I have about the same setup in a 22/45 but mine has a RMR on it. With a 22 can and subsonic ammo I can do a little target practice in the city. Avedis, thanks for the offer. I need to contact Brownells to see what is going on. I better make sure my order is canceled before I order another.
  3. Ooohhhh!!! An evil open shooter. Let's see the final result when you are finished. Hopefully I will be unveiling my pimped out 9 and 40 pros for 3gun and limited class. Nickel boron for the win!!!!!
  4. Thanks for the response to my questions above. For me the noise and dust with vibratory is not a problem, I clean in a detached garage. Also, replacing media has been a non issue. Lizard litter has lasted me a long time and works great. I get the volume issue, if I could do 20lbs at once I would only have to clean maybe once or twice a year. What struck me the most was the issue of a cleaner press. I always have to clean the anvil on my 550. Most of my ammo has dented primers from a piece of walnut. They always shoot, but it would give me piece of mind. Maybe the frankford arsenol kit is in my future. Thanks!!!
  5. I am not sure. When I originally ordered, they were back ordered. No big deal, they will ship when the triggers come in. Now that they are in stock, I havent received shipping confirmation. Oh well, I can always get it someplace else.
  6. Who got some goodies for their favorite pistol for christmas? (In my case birthday/christmas) Brownells wont send me my flat trigger to try out so I went ahead and got a full DAA setup. I went from tactical timmy setup to a full gamer setup. What a diference it makes. A race holster is stupid fast for standing starts in USPSA and flipping the lever off for running starts is pretty easy. I never knew how much of a difference a really stiff belt made. My 2" duty belts have nothing on this DAA gear. The timmy gear is staying for 3gun. Too much movement to trust a race setup. Which is nice so I dont have to keep reconfiguring me gear for each type of match. Let's hear what Sants brought you!
  7. NZM, I think you are out of line. Shmella put a link to a new competition belt from a great American company and you poo pooed it since it isnt American made and at an outrageous price. Midway has many of their products produced overseas. It just makes since labor is so much cheaper. They pass on the cheaper labor rates by offering good equipment at a good price. It definately saves me money. As soon as America can compete and produce goods at a competitive price then manufacturing will not keep moving overseas. Double Alpha and CR are not American made, but they produce the best in the business. I get the America is no. 1 mantra, but we live in a world economy. I own lots of American made items and lots of foreign made items. There is good and bad in both. I am not so ignorant to think that only quality goods come from American workers. Quality can be had from all over the world. Shmella, Thank you for sending jobs overseas. Keep buying that Midway crap. When you go to draw and the holster waggles all over the place, you will realize that having a stiff competition belt is key. Jimmy with FBC Tactical works very hard, does the work himself, and is determined not to compromise quality for quantity or profit. A true American, in my book. I am happy that
  8. I use the FCD with 9 and 40 with no problems. It is easy to set for little crimp and confirms the case will chamber. I use a U-die to resize so the FCD barely touches the case on my 550.
  9. Whatever happened to a vibratory case cleaner and some walnut shells with nufinish? Dump in 500, wait 3 hours and dump them in the sifter. Cases look pretty much new when they come out. All of this wet tumble, air dry, heat dry, sunshine dry, oven dry, maybe vibrate to prevent tarnish seems a little silly to me for pistol brass. I can understand being anal about long range rifle brass, but all this work for brass for action pistol confuses me. Does it help anything or is it simply I like new looking brass. Even if it is only for looks I can respect that, but it is not for me.
  10. Ditto, too hard for competition pistols with lightened springs.
  11. Bayous or any other coated bullet will out perform plated in my experience. I have gone through many thousand Xtreme bullets in 9 and 40 due to their generous prize table certificates. I was happy with them until I tried coated bullets. Coated was more accurate and required less powder to make power factor. For a while I was using coated for matches and Xtreme for practice. I sold off all my Xtreme bullets in the classifieds and have done to strictly coated bullets. Now I dont have to worry about match ammo versus practice ammo. If you are shooting open then plated bullets may work better for you, but there are many running coated bullets at high velocities.
  12. I received my confirmation email. Looking forward to the misery (I mean fun) that WCRH can come up with. Broke the news to my wife that I will be gone all holiday weekend. It didnt go over well. Oh well, the couch is pretty comfy.
  13. You need to get the gel seals. They are so worth it. Wearing muffs all day used to kill my ears until I got the gel seals. I even put a $30 set of gel seals on my $50 backup/lend out Peltor tac 6. The gel seals conform to your eye pro around your ears making for a better seal and much better comfort.
  14. I am not a fan of hydration style backpacks. Sucking luke warm liquid through a hose turned me off of those years ago. I keep my beverages chilled in a small cooler. Even if you fill the bladder with ice, it goes away too quick and then there's that sucking on a hose thing. I agree on a backpack versus shoulder bag, they are so much more comfortable with a heavy load. The DAA packs are good from what I have seen. They make it easy to access everything, but I have seen some longevity issues. I am going minimalist next year with a maxpedition versipack. I always carried too much stuff. Now it's ammo, mags and a medical kit. The belt goes on when I get there and the ear pro slips over a strap. I am keeping everything else in the truck. No need to lug it around and I wont ned to push a cart anymore. The chair I always kept with me was never used so it is gone. Mind you this is for local matches with a short walk to my truck. Majors I will break out the cart and take the kitchen sink.
  15. Contact Apex and let them know what is going on. They will fix you up straight away. Point them to this thread with the videos. More than likely they will find the thread on their own and help. They are active on Benos.
  16. I have rather large hands with short fingers. I wear a 1XL glove. I do not like a single stack grip. It always bites me and wears a hole in my hand at the bottom of the spring housing. I have tried flat and round and both did not fit me. The only one I havent tried are the rounded carry type housings. Using double stack guns I have had no issues. They always felt comfortable.
  17. Find some orcs and start shooting. Moving targets would be awesome. Hee hee, I am such a nerd. Beautiful country from what I have seen. The closest I have come is Australia. I would love to visit some day. I hope you find a match soon.
  18. Great deal, I love mine and use them for everything. These are simply the best ear muffs ever. Waterproof (mine have completely submerged, dont ask), comfortable, great noise reduction (much better than their NRR rating), great clarity. I went through TCI so I would get the USA warranty and upgraded electronics. Peltor, Pro Ears, etc. Dont even come close. If you dont believe me, take your brand, turn them on and submerge in 2' of water for 2 days and see if they work. Mine did and continue to work 3 years later.
  19. Find a match now and go. Local or a major it doesnt matter. Just be safe and have fun. Dont worry about your score for now. Pretty soon you will be a regular. Dont invest in equipment until you are sure what division you want to shoot.
  20. A Han Solo reference? Well played indeed Sir! I never would of caught that in a million years, good job.
  21. Your poll is skewed. The only no answer is "unmanly" which obviously does not go along with your opinion. This is just like pollers skewing the questions to get the answer they want. Pretty pointless, you only want answers that agree with your opinion. This is a game. The rules for the game dictate the number of rounds on the target. If you dont like the rules, then don't play the game. You can do one shot on a target if you are accurate. If you want to hose, then dont shoot HM. If major PF became a rule and only one hit on a target became a rule, then a PF number would have to be established and enforced. Everyone with half a brain would game it just to make PF. There would be high cap 40's in every holster, rifles that shoot a 6.5 or 6.8 projectiles that justs make PF. Can you say equipment race? If the power factor numbers are kept really high where only a 45 and 308 would qualify, then I think you would see the same participation as yhere currently is.
  22. I have had a few issues with them. I have had a couple of shells that would not go off with repeated strikes and I have found the rims on the shells are out of round. When loading two in practice and at a 3-gun match I would stuff them in and one would pop out on the lifter. I measured the rims with calipers and found them oblong. When the "short" side of the shell was against the catch there was not enough meat there to hold the shell. If you will be using these shells in an over under you should not have the problems I did except for maybe some bad primers. I found the shells to shoot and pattern as well as cheap Federal Champion shells. I didn't find them dirtier than anything else I have used. For $45 per case I would buy a bunch and use them for 3gun practice, trap, clays, skeet, etc., however I would not use them in a 3gun/shotgun match where you have to load on the clock.
  23. Youngeyes, I get what you are trying to do. Have the mag or mags with the farthest reach tilt towards your hand as you are grabbing them. You can use a left hand pouch(for right side carry) to get the tilt you want, however the tension screw and roller will be the opposite of your other pouches. Another thing to consider is the tilt will cause you to have to space the mags further from your vertical mags. The easier reach from the tilted mags may be negated by having to reach further around your back.
  24. How frustrating for one little screw to mess up your day. At least you found the cause and can move on.
