If it's like that when it's brand new then it's not tight enough.
Sounds like you got a good tightly fit gun. Put 500+ rounds through it and see what it's like then. If it runs 100% then you're golden.
I shoot all black sights and the only way I could see the top of the front sight in the low light was to add a bit of white out to the top line of the serrations on the front sight. It made that very top edge visible and I could call my shots.
Put the comp in something that spins (drill?) and sand the end of it till you get it clocked the way you want. Key is keeping it flat as possible. The spin should keep you from taking too much off of any one side.

Sure you added enough overtravel? The farther you pull the trigger back the lower the trigger bar can go to release the striker. Either that or possibly the new connector is a little long.

If you go with any of the available nitrocarburizing processes, it will give you the same benefit. You just have to do it to the whole part and it will have a black finish.
