  1. With a .180 tall front sight the bomar will be most of the way down in its adjustment range, but I haven't had one run out of adjustment. I like it better than way so you don't have the sight jacked up so far with the gap beneath it.
  2. $2400 for a full custom built on a Caspian frame.
  3. Same here. If I'm the shooter, I don't want to be stopped for REF. It's a bit frazzling for the nerves to be stopped when you haven't done anything wrong and think you're going to be DQ'd.
  4. I'll drill and tap for free if you buy a mount from me.
  5. I've yelled STOP from the crowd more than a few times over the years. It's always been for a squib. And usually there's a few people in the crowd that yell it out. I'd rather save someone's $3000 gun than worry about reshooting.
  6. The crimp is pretty light already at 0.422". I can try going a bit lighter but the case will be slightly belled. When I was using the Lee FCD, I tried crimping to 0.423" and, when I did, there was still a hint of a bell in the case. Could there be a chance that what I need to do is tighten the crimp a bit to eliminate the moly residue? I have never crimped any tighter than 0.420" and then only with FMJ. I had problems before with moly and it was all due to a half turn of crimp on a Lee FCD.
  7. Not me. That was the first one that came up on google.
  8. Try reducing your crimp. Just enough to take out the bell and no more.
  9. I spend the most time on the bridgeport, but the dremel is 2nd and probably followed by a cordless drill.
  10. I had a reamer made that is .375", some are .368, but I found it to be a bit small on short guns.
  11. That's not bad, but if you look around you might find a farm supply store that has it. I get 50lbs for around $12 locally.
  12. I've always had to finish ream AET chambers. After you fit the hood the chamber is going to be slightly too short.
  13. Around here the only people driving them are yuppie liberals. That only makes me dislike them more...
  14. Caspian makes wood grips, but they're a rather light color. Alumagrips makes them as well and you can get them in black.
  15. I like AET barrels in open guns since their diet is going to be jacketed rounds. The Bedell Ti comp cut down to 5 ports is my preferred combination.
  16. See it. When you see the sights, you can press the trigger. See faster = shoot faster.
  17. You can't teach true speed, and you can't teach great accuracy. So we're down to shoot points first. If you're fast you'll start shooting accurately fast.
  18. Hard to teach someone to be accurate quickly.
  19. Your barrel didn't look that bad. You could tell it was a little worn in the throat area, but that was it.
  20. I wouldn't worry about a barrel till you're shooting a M16 and putting 30 rounds through it in 3 seconds. Even guys that have autos still say their barrels last for 50k rounds.
  21. This one is pretty good too.
  22. The ball detent is installed in the slide, it's a gunsmith job.
  23. You can either trim a silver trigger down to the correct width, or open up the trigger channel to the correct width.
