  1. Hey Walt, I'm limping from the weight, just looking at it. What's the holster?

    Nemo

Does El Conq expect Bubber & WalterMitty to have that good of eyesight, or does he expect the delivery system to have that much Wa(lsh)ttage? Good going Nemo, are you training your 2 Junior Shooters in the way of the Wheel? Tell me your secret on overcoming El Conquistador? What is his strongest skill? Weakest points? Don't sell your stage win short, savor it, roll in it! Then go out and kick butt again.
  3. 6 Singles and 1 Double up front. The thinner you are the more you have to twist to around to get them though. Depending on the course I may add another single and maybe a double in back. Don't do that if you have to start seated, or if there's something in the course that can grab them. Plus, the one I keep on my Pinkie Finger to start with. The number is actually more due to finding the things under pressure than worrying about round count. Besides, I like the flashy Bling Bling look of Nickel Cases hanging around my waist in the early morning dew! Yea, you guys should'a seen Carmoney, you know the term A**es and Elbows. He had moon clips flying everywhere on the "1st" 20 yard sprint. Looked like shrapnel. I was proud though that NO Revo shooters couldn't finish the course due to equipment loss, as a couple of Limited and Open shooters did lose all of their extra ammo and ate it at the end.
  4. WELCOME Delta Mike! Looks like everyone has chimed in pretty thoroughly. I will use either, but tend to fall back to the Miculek Style. Like Hop said, try both in a "Match" under pressure (at different times of course). Getting plenty of practice before the match. I've actually found that the Hands On style is more secure in the "Ejection" phase. Using the Switch Hands style I have a tendency to flip the gun too quick and the clip falls right back on the cylinder. But, the Switch Hands style is more secure in the "Throw 'em In" phase. With the Hands On style I feel like I have to guide the rounds in. The time doesn't seem to be any different for either style for me. When I screw a reload up it is Always due to Trying to go faaaaaaaaaast! See I screwed that up too, LOL. Seriously practice both, and one will feel better and more natural. Never try to smoke a Reload (wish I could follow my own advice) as that is the way to screw up. Concentrate on SMOOOOOTH, whichever way you do it! My one true fear of using the Switch Hands style is that one day I will try it in a match with my 1911. Either way, Good Luck. Dave
  5. Glad to see you speak up Wheel Man. Big Welcome! Be careful, this site seems kind of addictive. Hate to see it cut into either of your other listed interests!

    Moon Clips

The moon clip tool sold by TK actually stresses the clips "Both" ways then resets them flat. Watched one being used at the Arkansas ICORE MW Regional. It did look pretty slick. Might even be worth the peace of mind for those who worry about everything, or who seem to have the kind of luck "Murrphy" dishes out. Definitely looked like the thing to have for an 8 shot moon clip.
  7. OOOH! Randy quit teasing. Do you have the new front sights available for the Classic Setup yet. Let us know, I do want a couple. Dave
  8. I feel your pain encoreman! I just went to my first ICORE in Arkansas. Yes, you "HAVE" to slow down. I tried thinking of the A-zone as a plate, but still shot too fast. Maybe think of the "B" zone as a NoShoot. The one course that had hardcover all around the A-zone came out real good for me. You're shooting way too fast if you miss the target. You need to concentrate on the "A"zone. And worrying whether you need to make up that B or C, not a miss. DO NOT spray and pray. Be Deliberate, is the best advice. But, hey don't sweat it there will be many others trying to either slow down or trying to squeeze out that last "A". Remember that when the buzzer goes off, you will revert to your old ways. So, just keep thinking Deliberate and READ your sights, you need A's, not C's or worse. It was fun though and it is kind of a trip being amongst nothing but wheelgunners. You won't feel like the odd man out anymore. Good Luck!
  9. It was a convoluted description. But, hey the fever meds aren't working too well. How about this: Position 1 - 2 10yd targets and 4 open targets at 35 yds can be seen (and which are also availabel at position 2 below). Position 2 - Has the 4 targets above (but now 2 of them are 1/2 covered by NS), 2 are open and 2 other open targets which couldn't be seen from position 1 all at 15 yds. Total of 16 rounds. Would you: A) shoot 2 10 yds. targets and 1 open target at 35 yds (using up the cylinder) running to the next postition and taking 3 open and 2 partial targets at 15 yds. with a standing reload? Leaving 2 extra shots for the tough targets. Or: Just the 2 10 yd. targets reload with 2 rounds left and run to the next position and engage 4 open and 2 covered targets all at 15 yds. With a standing Reload and no extra make up shots. Or: C) How about 4 open targets at 35 yds + 2 close 10yd targets which would save a reload at the next posititon leaving only 2 open targets at 15 yds with no reload? Or: D) Some other plan? And Keith, man don't be sending the snow down here. Course, that's better than Ice.
  10. Congratulations Walt. Getting decent Classifier Score in Revo is tough. As you're competing against a %of Limited. Keep the spirits up there in the NW! Dave
  11. How about this one. 25 rounds. Open door which activates a clamshell w/noshoot ending up covering all but the head, a clear target next to it both at 10 yards. Looking to the left thru the doorway you can see 2 open targets at 35 yards and 2 open targets are visible straight down the lane also at 35 yds. Run to barrel, pick up doll and haul to next barrel (lane is 25 yds long) at last barrel 3 open targets at 12 yds (were visible at door) and 1 open target (not visible at door) and 2 noshoot covered (1/2) targets (open when visible from door earlier) at 15 yds to your right. To the left you can see 3 PP and 2 10" plates at 30 yds. There are 2 open targets at 12 yds. that can only be seen at the end of the left hand lane (which is 15 yds long). Question? 1) Reload at door and engage all open targets (6) leaving only open targets later. 2) 6 shots at door, run to last barrel engaging 4 12-15yd. open targets, 1 15 yd. partial target and try 2 30 yd. plates. 3) Another plan? Unfortunately I did it with a SS, but was one of only a few who went clean and in 24 seconds. I took everything thru the door and the 3 plates from the barrel. Worked out for 10 shot, but what of a 6 shot? Anyone dizzy yet?
  12. If it was a money match (or I'm shootin' the Revo in L10), skip it. If it was a club match, man if it's there I like to try! How many Production/L10/PSS guys shot straight across and still were able to pick up the DT? Did they push it and go for 3 steel after the Activator, play it safe and go for 2? Just curious. Any sunshine up there yet?
  13. Way to go SAM! Slap the old guy around a bit, get him all jumpy and twitchy. Ya' know watching over his shoulder. BEFORE the Sunflower! Mike, Mike, Mike... half of the fun with a Young HOT SHOT, is practicing the age old art of the Mind Game. Doing it subtly and teaching him what to watch for from the rest of us. We do need a Bull Pen for JM!
  14. I have a PC625, it's ok but if you're looking for value I'd go with a stock 625 (4" for IDPA)and have an action job done on it. The only real advantage of a PC is the replacable front sight. But that's not a big thing. AND the standard 4" 625 has MORE weight up front than a PC. There are several threads on update recomendations, check them out. Either way good luck.
  15. And don't forget that Bubber is an ICORE Open Master (I think). I understand with Sam. Especially with his talent, he could easily start seeing stars and get a swelled head. Though from meeting him, I'd say that's impossible. Sorry to hear you can't make it Keith, but it's understandable. Don't get frostbite setting up! Our new SC here in KS is a really nice guy, that WANTS to do the right thing. He had to push pretty hard for the Sectional. I think it'll be worth it. I'm glad I'll be shooting on Friday. I'm going to be Star Struck with all of the imported talent. Hope I remember to follow the competitors and don't drop the timer. Man I'm EXCITED!!! Mike, Check your PM. Dave
  16. OK Guys here's what it's looking like. There will be 80 total Competitors at the Sunflower Classic. I just got back from KC and so far it looks like we have: 4 Kansas/Missouri, 2 Florida, 4 Oklahoma and 3 Iowa competitors (if both Dan and Doug shoot Revo) That's 13! Mike is Sam coming? We may get close to 20% of the whole match. 2-USPSA Masters and at least 1-ICORE Master(?) This may get interesting. Next weekend, the 19th, is Topeka's monthly match. I should be able to get there and have a little more info. The SC did tell me that the courses are looking a lot more Revo friendly than years past. He didn't think there were any field courses requiring a standing reload for us numerically challenged ones. Dave
  17. Dang, what have I started. Looks like the Kansas Sectional is going to be loaded with Revo talent. Hey where's Keith? We're not that far from the land of the Frozen Tundra. OOPS, guess that's a rival team. We may have to have 2 Revo Squads! And last year I had to really work'em over to get the staff to even recognizing Revo. Now we need to work on S&W for support. Anyone have a contact with S&W (or another Revo Company, Ruger, Taurus?) I could try to con, 'er convince to donate to a lowly Sectional? One with 2 Masters and a bevy of tough "A & B" competitors! Dave I've also been informed the courses are going to be Revo friendly. Very few, if any, required standing reloads.
  18. I think people assume I'm older because I possess wisdom beyond my years and always project a quiet air of mature dignity. Mature, yea that's what that sour smell was. What livestock do you raise? Wait a minute I thought you said "project of quiet manure". Need to put my bifocals on.
  19. Especially if you're shooting ICORE, If you need those extra shots you're just digging a hole. But, they are nice on courses with active targets. Accuracy is so critical in ICORE. In IPSC it's more balanced, and the scoring zones are a bit bigger. But, hey shoot what you got. It's all good and fun!
  20. Revoman bring that speed down to Kansas in May to the Sunflower. I'm told the courses will be Revo friendly even! I'm coming up to Iowa for the Sectional on the weekend after, will you be shooting Revo there? How is that Iowa Revo Only Match coming along?
  21. You might want to make sure to clarify a "Round Trip Ticket". Being a Counselor's wife I expect she could get pretty technical. Just imagine it now. Dr. Dremel's flying over PA when the announcement comes it's his stop. "Watch the first step". Might be a clue if it has props instead of jets. Course maybe he could whip out his trusty Dremel and carve out a Hang Glider from the door he was holding onto on the way down! HA!HA! Jeez I crack myself up sometimes. Too bad no one else gets my humor.
  22. No that's SUB-Senior!! Man ya got 10 years to go before you start to fall apart. Make good use of it. Happy BDay Mike!
  23. Bubber if you can't find a 6 shot, let me know. I have holster and holders for both a 625 and a M29 (.44 russian with moon clips works great). Cliff, what brand? It all tastes the same to me. Maybe we should all meet somewhere before or after the match. Any preferences? We're usually done on Friday about 7pm and Saturday by 6pm.
  24. +1 C'mon Hop! Get back in the Game. I keep getting the itch to get a Limited Gun and seeing you move on, well the path well worn is easier to follow. Luckily(?) the funds aren't there for a new gun now, besides all of the FUN is in the Revo Division Now!
  25. Bubber I never meant to imply your loads wouldn't cut wind. Just that a proper, dyed in the woolies ICORE guy would probably be shooting those factory loads that don't make the pf but qualify. Hey, if I was going to shoot open and "had" a revolver that they fit, you bet I'd have some. I actually ran a guy (this guy was 6'6" and 300lbs) thru a course in the late '80's that shot a ppc revolver and loads. His reaction was almost funny when I wouldn't score the bullets "STUCK" in the cardboard target. But, I explained that they had to penetrate the target to score. He even had some that left little impressions where they bounced off. It was funny, though I didn't laugh while he was there. Some guys don't have much of a sense of humor. Why don't you come up with Walter Mitty, or some of the Arkansas guys. Just leave the dot at home and use 6 shots. Oh, and all Nerf Bullets will be chrono'd!
