  1. I don't think the attachment made it in. Have to reformat to a Doc.
  2. Hey Hop, I drove down 5 hours from Kansas that morning, then back that night. Was there before the range crew. You know I saw a video of Tennessee and it sure looked pretty, after going through the beautiful Ozarks/Arkansas I remembered how much I used to enjoy traveling to new country. Maybe have to try to get over to Tenn. some time. It was a great Match, maybe next year I'll slow down. I would've only dropped about 10 points the whole match IF it was IPSC! But with the Bianchi Target, well I knew better but just couldn't control the governor and the time added up. Jess shot an inspired match he was less than 5 seconds behind Roger (whom I guess is Bubber?) The courses were interesting and challenging. They actually had some pretty long shots for an indoor range. Mike and Stephanie and their whole crew did a bang up job and everyone seemed to have a good time. The prize table was impressive. You had a 1 in 6 chance of a gun. Not that a 1 in 1 would help me, I'm not even lucky with bad luck. Check the attachment for the scores that were sent to me this morning. With a few more load adjustments, getting my mind in sync with the trigger finger and I'll be back there next year.
  3. The 1/2 moon clips are pretty easy to screw up, I lost 1 of 3 I had. The other two I loaded with some ammo and will not empty them unles I have to (Coyote Loads). I never had any problems setting off good reloads, or new rounds, from my pc625 without using clips. Have only shot about 30-40 rounds like that though. The cylinder is chambered to catch a normally sized, taper crimped round and fire without a clip. Getting them to fall out is more problematic. But, there is a lot of room for tolerance stack and it doesn't take much to not fire. I have a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible that won't fire any 45 acp ammo unless it's brand new rounds. You don't have any grease or crud in the firing pin channel do you? Take a small screwdriver and press on the firing pin. It should come out past the frame and reset quickly. If it feels stiff, or gooey, try some Rem Oil (not wd-40) or a little solvent and some light air pressure (can of air). Full Moon Clips are the way to go, and for a 45 625 they're pretty cheap. Get some FMC's from Midway or Brownells and get that Wheel Gun turning.
  4. Pretty much +1 with tlshores comments. As far as Realism goes, the only true realistic course is a "Surprise" course with no walk through, I've actually seen a few and at least one that was in a dark room. Funny story of it's own. Of course the problem with surprise courses is like real life, the odds of the "Secret of the Course" getting out and ruining the premise goes up exponentialy with each completed competitor. And, as in real life, the odds of a grievance (probably legitimately) goes up also. I like playing shooting games and pray I can never say I used my experience in shooting competition for anything serious. But, then who knows where their life is really going next.

    D'oh!

Right On, Walt! Gotta get a Rail Gun. Man I KNOW that's what I need to get all A's! Kind of like an Airport Runway look, guides them bullets right into the zone.

    D'oh!

My gawd does it never end! Hey Walt if you're going the plastic molding injection route, try selling a color coordinated set of: Grips, Screw, Ejection Rod (should be easier on the hand) and Cylinder Latch. Maybe inset programmable LED's that can flash a name or catch phrase? Maybe some of the Limited guys will get enraptured with the pretty bobbles and we all know what happens once you actually try a Revo. Kind of like Golf, you love to hate it.
  7. Sam sure looks smooth and handles the recoil very well. His reloads look very smooth also, since he's switching hands maybe he should try the Miculek Reload. Getting him to do his homework first should be tougher than getting him to practice. Gently suggest that winning gives him bragging rights, and girls that age usually like "Atheletes"! Ya gotta be proud. Check out http://www.millcreekpsl.org/photos.html the July series has a bunch of photos of Sam, and one of the older guy too.
  8. Real Men take care of their families and loved ones. Everything else is secondary. Shooting is fun. Competition is fun, as long as you don't make it work. And it's good for all the fine ladies, men, youngsters and seniors to have fun. After reading the latest Front Sight, I wondered if we were going to go through some "we should be different" times. Happened in the past, probably will happen again. It's not all bad, either way. A little soul searching can be good, just don't get neurotic over it. My hats off to all of those who work matches, men, women, youngsters and seniors. When someone starts to question courses locally, I tell them it's a good idea, set it up. Some do, some leave. I burnt out a while back and am trying to gradually get back in, but I still appreciate the hard work put in by others. Lifes too short, hug your better half, give the kids an 'atta boy, pet the dog and stroke the cat. Take a deep breath, ain't life sweet.
  9. You can install a single and still use the Bolt Lock, which engages the Extractor Rod (Cylinder Axle?). I have a double crane lock and still use the Bolt Lock. Some will disable the Bolt Lock and use just a double crane lock. Which is just 2 crane locks one in front of the other. The Crane Lock is just a Ball staked into the Crane and a Detente notch cut into the frame. Similar in principle to the old "Triple Locks". You're sure it wasn't a stuck case that caused stiff extraction and the "ouchie"?
  10. Note to self, another reason to switch hands on the reloads, pain aversion. I had a smith do a double crane lock on my 625 and he removed the Bolt Lock. I never could get a decent group with it until I put the Bolt Lock back in. At least with Major Loads I would get 3 decent shots and the rest would string out to the left. Some as far as 6+"! And, as I found out after totally screwing myself up for 4 months thinking it was me, it wasn't! I put the Bolt Lock back in and the groups settled down. With 230 MG and 4.0 Clays it drops 'em into 1 1/2" at 25 yards. Now I know if a shot strays it's "Me". Not every 625 may have this problem. But, mine was a new PC625 with less than 2m rounds through it. It now has 10+M. Removing and Reinstalling the Bolt Lock isn't hard. But make sure you don't have any problems "BEFORE" you grind off the Ejector Rod tip.
  11. Dr. Dre-M-L, uz nt b pdef? Indigent, non-indigenus customspeak bleeding thru? If you're saying Sam might've posted in your name, can't buy it Whichever one's seen using the knuckle sight is in for a world 'a' ribbin' at the next match. BTW revchuck, have you started your homework yet?
  12. Why on earth can't an Area Champs or a National Champs be considered for the point series as an "other" match? It will only count as a single, not a multiplier so how's that unfair? The competition at those matches is likely to be stronger than an "other" money match. I'm all for making "Other" be an Area or National event. As for Ties, heck there should always be a tie breaker somewhere even if it's a game of "Texas Hold 'em Poker", and I don't gamble! Seriously, an official tie breaker could then be on the strength of competition at the included Area Match of the tied participants. I "was" thinking of signing up this year, but I'm re-thinking now. Maybe I just need to concentrate on "Going" to a few more matches this year, and have FUN!
  13. I think Spook said he used Car Body Putty/Epoxy to create his monstrosity. Maybe you can find some for an ol' Woody that'll match Goncales Alves. Hey Snoop Car Car, wazzzz up! Yo chillin' bad homey? When using your Dremel Apparatus, hold firm with steady hand, and wear glasses. The wife almost broke her finger one day trying to polish a ring. I don't lock up my guns, just my power tools.
  14. Shooting a Classifier over/over is called Grandbagging (if you're successful) doesn't hurt anything just inflates you classification. Though if you put pressure on yourself to do it better/higher, it could be thought of as Big Match Practice. It does make it harder to win your division at money matches though. Some clubs won't allow a reshoot on a classifier, time constraints. I like to be able to occassionally shoot another gun on a classifier. But, then again some clubs won't do it. Try just cherry picking the matches. If they're shooting a classifier, shoot L10 (or if you feel particularly on). If not stick with SS. As long as you're using the same gear the progress will be applicable. You may be able to pick up a few % points with race gear and 10 rd mags, but if it's not what you are interested in, don't. You've brought out the one glaring fault in a provisional division, that may well be popular. That's why they take your Highest Classification, but if you don't shoot anything else but SS after getting classified, there's the problem. My guess is USPSA will either act quicker, or do something to alleviate the problem. Or there will be some complaints about sandbagging at the money matches/championships. If I was to bet, I'd bet that the numbers at the bigger matches will make a big impression. Regardless of local activity. Heck, they're already up and running on a SS Championship in April. If you Build the Course, they will come.
  15. Dang, Carmoney you beat me to it. I guess great minds think alike! LOL! Course, instead of checking out this website I was watching 24 and dryfiring Reloads on Pudgy the Bear. My wife's used to the click, click flurry of activity !expletives! click, click! But, now I'm at work and there's time to sit back.
  16. Congrats Hop, getting M in anything is tough. Limited has so many Hot SHots that it's not easy at all. But, now that you've attained that lofty status. Come back to the Revo. Learn to live with the pain. Ha!Ha! Hope you can get back in the game.
  17. Hammer Down Cliff, good luck.
  18. Just took mine out, took it all out. Out! Off! OFF with their hea??? Forgot where I was. Who cares about a little hole for dirt. Gives me another place to squirt lube, ha!ha! Seriously, if I can remember after all it was last weekend. Step 1) Pry out the little plate, there's a spring at the bottom so you have to wiggle it a bit. Step 2) Turn the lock about 1/4 turn, it then lines up and you can use a small screwdriver or scribe to compress the fork and spring and lift them out. Don't let the spring get away. Step 3) The lock will then push out. Think that was the way I did it, and in that order. Putting it back in might be trickier. Leaves a hole, but won't have anything dragging on the hammer. I left mine in for over a year, 5,000 rounds and dryfired 3 times a week. It didn't cause any trouble. But, I noticed a scratch mark on that side of the hammer. It does feel a bit better now, but it's probably in my mind.
  19. If you want to simplify things and shoot both IPSC and ICORE. Try using 4.0 clays with a 230 rn for IPSC and a 200 rn (haven't tried the 185's) with the same charge. 230 MG 4.0 clays f150 1.220" gives 741f/s 170pf 200 RN Ranier 4.0 clays f150 1.245" gives 740f/s 148pf I get the above loads without changing anything but the bullet. The LOA comes out different due to the shape of the bullet nose. And they both shoot virtually identical trajectories out to 50 yards. And both are really accurate out of my 625, the 200 might even be a shade better. Using the different bullets also allows me to tell which I'm shooting. The 200 are a little stiffer than a true 130 pf load, but after practicing with the 230's the 200 loads don't move out of the A-zone. You'll be better off practicing than fiddling with loads to get the lowest pf, at least until you get the Revo basics down pat. Good Luck and Welcome, Dave
  20. The Kansas Sectional Sunflower Classic applications are posted at: http://www.capitalcitygunclub.com/pistol/ccps.html The deadline is May 1, $55, limit 80 and dates are May 19 (staff/specials) and 20 (awards given out afterwards), single day format, 8 stages 180 rounds. We had 5 Revo's last year (minimum needed to have a placque), I'm aiming to lure in 10 this year (3-4 promised already). I'll give out special prizes for Hi & Lo Revo Shooters. Hope to see you there, whatever you shoot!
  21. Man this Cliff guy must be interesting. We gotta meet up at a match somewhere. Cliff how many 'cases' of cheap beer would it take to get you to come to Topeka and the Sunflower Classic? I'm a poor farm boy so it can't cost much, wonder if anyone I know can turn a hopper of Corn into Mash?
  22. I sent a M29 to Clark and it was removed when it came back, and they didn't send it with the gun either. I about freaked, then I found out it was standard procedure for a Competition Gun, kind of like removing the "NEW" Locks. Don't do it if you ever plan on using it for other than competition and put it back in when you sell it. You can smooth it up and make it work, at least down to 7# or so. It is a fail safe, just in case your Rebound Slide shears, or a kitchen table gunsmith gets overly ambitious on said slide.
  23. Jeeez, Carmoney you don't need to apologize for anything. You asked if any "Revo Shooters" were doing the Florida thing. That's totally appropriate to do so here, and not clog up the Match Forum. Besides the Revo Forum kind of has a "Life" of it's own. Can't quite figure it out yet, but it keeps whispering to me from the computer. But then all the voices have been getting louder this winter. I swear I just heard a suggestion to buy some 200 raniers for light loads? Maybe I just need a nap.
  24. The application is posted with a link at: http://www.capitalcitygunclub.com/pistol/ccps.html The deadline is May 1 and a limit of 80 shooters. Will be a 1 day 180 round USPSA Sectional Match. There is a map at the link above also. I've convinced them to give out a Revo Placque with 5 competitors and it looks as if we have 4 promised at present. I kind of bragged that we could get 10 this year. I even have some Moon Caddies (will hold 30 loaded Moon Clips) left I'll get them to award to 1st and Last in Revo. This is a very beautiful and accesible Range, just off of I70 and just west of Topeka, Ks. Hope to see you there, Dave P.S. Last years winner was Mike Carmoney.
  25. Mike said about 150 rounds, anyone know if it's all indoors? Seriously thinking of heading down there. Got the Winter Blues bad! Dave
