  1. what size tubing do you use that accepts the 1x2 furring strips?
  2. As a competitor what makes a good stage? What stages have you shot and said "damn that was fun!"? Is it the flow of the stage? movement or lack of? Fancy moving targets? Variation in skill such as hoser and distance shooting on the same stage? Any links to video to stages you think are great would be a plus too. I for one hate stuff like half covered stars or tons of no shoots. I like interesting stuff like having to walk on planks or bridges. I like stages that end up having multiple ways to shoot them, though I don't think that is always the designers intention. I have never seen a tunnel other than in video but they look interesting. What types of stages should make up a good local match?
  3. Does that PT thumbrest offer more shield than the nitro. I'm finding my hands are too big for the nitro and my thumb can still touch the slide at times. I really need the thumb rest a little farther forward but down want to get my frames drilled and tapped.
  4. So SV says they use a .430 pin gauge....but I havent confirmed yet exactly what part of the mag they are measuring with the pin gauge. .430 width on the feed lips seems a little much.
  5. I have two SV's with metal grips. I have old style and new style SV mags that work in both guns. In the older SV i have the MBX mags would just randomly fall out after a few shots. I sold them and dont have any to test in the new SV. I do know the new style SV mags with the strayer logo engraved on them have the mag catch setup slightly different than the old style. But not sure why the old style SV mags would work in my SV but the MBX would not.
  6. I would be getting a divorce if I bought a third SV lol
  7. I have 8 svi mags. 4 are old style 4 are new style. All of them have different feed lip dimensions. The Enos SV mag post, dawsons video, the freedom gunworks tutorial all have different feed lip recommendations. What is the current trend in feed lip dimensions for SVI mags? Mag body dimensions?
  8. I think double alpha makes the best belt rig for uspsa limited. I would shoot for the new alpha-x holster when its available in the states. 2 race master pouches and one racemaster pouch with magnet. For your budget STI is going to be the best bet new, like others have said I might look around for something used in your budget. I have a friend with a SV for sale right now but it would use up your budget on just the gun.
  9. Put all my brass in a ziplock...spray with oneshot for a second or two. Mix them up real good in the bag and dump them in the hopper. No more sticking and the press runs great.
  10. Depending on the bandwidth requirements of the site I may be able to host it for cheaper then amazon.
  11. Your loading bench is ridiculously clean. You would die if you saw what mine currently looks like haha.
  12. I always have a backup gun that is also the practice/dry fire gun. Sometimes I am guilty of not cleaning the backup gun before going to a local match. I practice and dry fire with the practice gun and will put a few rounds through the match gun before a major match. You just want to make sure they feel the same. You want the same grip and your hands to be in the same place on both. You want the same safeties and anything like thumb rests. You want them both to have the same sights too. Its a peace of mind knowing that my match gun should work and keeps a low round count. Also if one needs repaired your not out while you wait. I would still replaces springs and what not yearly in both.
  13. Welcome. We shoot USPSA 1st sunday of the month and 3 gun the third saturday of the month if you are ever out west near Midland/Odessa.
  14. Very nice (repeats to himself...you dont need an open gun...)
  15. Check out Dominion Defense on facebook https://www.facebook.com/DOMINIONDEFENSELLC/?fref=ts The owners name is Gary Latta. His brass is fully processed, roll sized and sized/decapped. It runs awesome in my press and I have very few rounds that dont pass the gauge any more. I was getting frustrated with other brass in .40 and did not want to invest in my own roll sizer. Tell him Billy sent you.
  16. Thank you ChuckS, I was not aware of that document! Its in there.
  17. Thanks I will get some from uline or amazon to stock. I finally found enough dry cleaners to give me a few to cover this weekend.
  18. If a classifier does not state a start position specific to PCC and the pistol start position is arms hanging relaxed at sides 8.1.1 8.1.2 does that mean a PCC shooter may choose port arms or low ready?
  19. Where do you guys get the plastic bags for bagging targets? I tried to buy some at a local dry cleaners but they wouldn't sell me any.
  20. I created and scored a match as time plus but would like to see it as time plus points. Is there any way to convert an already completed match to a different format? Or export and import the results into a different match maybe?
  21. When I started taking dry fire seriously and really pushing par times and working with COC grippers I ended up with elbow issues. I've worked through them now but I would recommend also doing some of these exercises at the same time as they helped me. You may get lucky and not have any elbow trouble but tennis elbow is no fun.
