  1. If you pickup federal NT brass throw it in the trash! Not sure how those pockets are crimped but the swage on a 1050 will not clean it out. I stopped picking up brass. I now buy fully processed once fired brass that is cleaned, roll sized, then decapped and sized. The 1050 runs like a dream with good brass. I am no longer having to stop and jack with the press every time I want to load. Just spray a little one shot on the brass and crank away. PM me if you want info on my brass guy, I might can get you a decent discount too.
  2. Wood or steel framed walls?
  3. What do yall use for feet? Currently we have old 1" square tubing walls with feet made of plate and piping to slide the wall leg into. They are heavy. I was thinking smaller square thin wall tubing. The snow fencing doesnt seem to last that long which is why i was thinking the rolled metal fencing.

What is the typical/traditional wall height? Has anyone made your walls with something like small square tubing and rolled metal fencing (think chicken wire type stuff) instead of plastic barrier?
  5. Our matches in west texas and new mexico dont often fill up. We are working to bring in more shooters though.
  6. whats the number USPSA calls from? i need to make sure its in my phone...i never answer the phone
  7. DAA pouches all the way. Get one with a magnet and 2 without and you are GTG.
  8. The shooters connection discounts for bulk is the cheapest I have found shipped to texas. I tried every site in this thread. Action target has pre-made hard cover targets which is worth it I think to not have to buy and paint hard cover. If you order over 300lbs from action target...which isnt that many targets evidently it ships by freight and is much cheaper than UPS.
  9. I adjusted the mags but am having trouble with some rounds not pointed high enough. They stick on the feed ramp, like going straight into the ramp instead of up. Which part of the feed lip should be adjusted to troubleshoot this?
  10. I ran the setup with the .090 blade with the manny dot front for a while on a different gun. I did not like it and widened the notch a little. Currently with the .110 rear and .070 front I dont find any distractions but I have eye dominance problems and run a magic dot on my glasses. Not sure if that would make any difference. A may play with different options. Not sure I have the shooting experience to even know if there was a difference. I for sure can not see holes in cardboard through the sight when front sight focused...but for close range targets where I could see holes if I looked im not really hard front sight focused anyway.
  11. Thanks for the reply. Do you find any difference with rear blades that have the outside corners cut or beveled vs just squared off?
  12. Anyone used a nitro fin and the PT fin and can compare the two?
  13. When you say its too much light bars is it that you find it distracting or slower to line up the sights? I am currently running a SVI comp rear at .110 which is the smallest they make, and the manny dot .070 up front. I like it but I dont have anything else to compare it to as both my guns have the same setup.
  14. Should a good local match 4/5 stages plus classifier consist of a mix of bigger field type courses and some stages with little movement? Its pretty hard to design a short stage with little movement that has many options on how to shoot it.
  15. what are the dimensions of that angle iron? How much do you think it cost per stand in material?
  16. i cant imagine living somewhere that "grounds real frozen" is something I would ever have to say.
  17. Now if I could translate all this to actual stage design! It never ends up shooting the same way it looks on paper.
  18. do you cycle some of your stages back through or always try to have new ones?
  19. This is a great point and I think would work for my guys with physical trouble. The getting up from the low positions is the problem for them.
  20. Thanks for that. Was that a local match? Should you take into account physical disabilities or just design good stages? We have some shooters that have trouble with the low/kneeling shots. I know you cant cater to everyone but I don't want to turn away people either.
