  1. I run the ghost bullets out pouches and love it. I shot a few matches when I began shooting bullets forward and then bought a new rig and went bullets out and never looked back. To me it's easier to get to the mag for a reload and it seems more natural. The Ghost pouches are a great price and are extremely durable
  2. I actually like the holes cuz they really give you a solid feel when you are really gripping down on the gun. The width to me is the key, they just feel so awesome in that department. Feel a little thicker than the EG grips but definitely thinner than the factory wood grips.
  3. Gump can you measure the length of EG FPS? Here you go SISIG, 2's all the way across
  4. 1.125 was the OAL I have run in all my 9mm Tanfos. It is only the first Stock III that I bought that is giving my FTF's. I have shot it like 4 different times at the range and each time the FTF's are getting less and less plus I went down to 1.115 OAL for them. My other Stock III from the same batch I shot around 50-60 rounds after match and not a single issue. The 147's have always ran fine in my Stock II's at 1.125 OAL. I can only assume that the one giving me issues just needs some more breaking in. If after another 500-700 rounds I am still having issues then I am not sure what else to try as I have polished feed ramp, barrel hood, extractor, the rib under the slide, etc. Going to 1.115 has seemed to help some but I can't say for sure as it may be it's just breaking in at the same time. After the MS Classic this weekend I am gonna get to the range and really get some rounds thru them and see what happens with the 1.115 OAL Bayou 147's.
  5. Those look cool with the chromed looking mags in them. I am enjoying my grips.
  6. I have shot 1000's of 135's and 1000's of 147's Bayous and never had any feeding issues before unitl this Stock III. If after breaking it in I am still having issues I may get a batch of 135's which are RN and see if for some reason my III likes them better. I hope not as I just like the feel of the 147's even though it is minimal from the 135's plus I got A LOT already loaded:-)
  7. Seems like was only yesterday that the Stock III in 9mm was the rarest of the rare unicorns and now all of a sudden they are everywhere. I am not complaining but before the batch from Hawk, I think I had seen maybe 2-3 over 18 months or something on Enos.
  8. 1.125 has reliably fed thousands of rounds in my Stock II's. I figured it'd be good for my III's but going down just a little to the 1.110-1.115 range may work. I say may cuz I need to shoot more rounds before I say yes but so far that length seems to be ok but will come back after another 500+ rounds thru them with no FTF before I will say it's good to go:-)
  9. Well I stayed after our local USPSA Match Sunday and shot a little out of my new Stock III's. I shot my Stock II for the match which my OAL was 1.125 and I had a few feeding issues still in my primary Stock III. Still only about 400 rounds thru it so I would say it's not broken in. I had some rounds that I shortened to 1.115 just for my Stock III's and I ran a few mags of them and no feeding issues. Also shot the first rounds of my backup Stock III which is the same setup except it's got a Titan hammer and not a single issue. Crazy thing is in this one I haven't polished the feed ramp or barrel hood like my first one. On another note I have the EG "Light" hammer spring with a coil cut and the Light FP spring with 2 coils cut and the Gen4 Henning FP and I've not had a single light strike in any of the roughly 500 rounds shot total in both pistols. I'm optimistic that using this combo will be reliable and the Delta/Titan hammers and Gen4 firing pin have counterbalanced the lighter springs. These springs with a coil cut are definitely the lightest and smoothest DA trigger pull I've gotten on any of my DA/SA Tanfos. Also the new grips are AWESOME!!! I love the width and will definitely be getting another pair:-)
  10. Got some today. At first glance these look like winners. The width seems to be perfect, right between the factory wood grips and EG grips. I will know more tonight when I dry fire with them but so far I'm very impressed!!!
  11. So how much difference in the front of holster where it seems the front opening/cutout is lower than blade tech? I don't know how else to explain but in the front where it's cutout. Does it help getting holster out quicker but does it keep gun inside as firmly as blade tech?
  12. Foundations The newly released DVD "Foundations" by Ben Stoeger is another must see for those wanting to become better shooters and more importantly for the beginner who has decided to take competition shooting seriously and are hungry for knowledge to honing their shooting skills. Foundations will serve as a reference and useful tool going hand in hand with his previously released DVD last year and Ben's multiple dry-fire and pistol shooting soft backs. Foundations was produced with the quality of a Hollywood blockbuster and not a third rate indie documentary. Rob Lisak did a great job in the picture and sound quality with multiple points of views and video speeds to enhance the viewer's ability to interpret clearly the points Ben was emphasizing. The background and lighting effects were easy on the eyes and allowed the viewer to easily focus in on even the most subtle movements throughout the film. This was truly a top notch production. Ben takes a different approach in Foundations than from his previously released Skills and Drills and completely breaks down all the fundamental elements that are key to becoming a competitive shooter vs a weekend range shooter. He goes over in great depth of the Draw, Reloads, Stance and much more. I'd list them all but to get the full appreciation of this you'll have to purchase the DVD. I was impressed at the time and attention to detail that Ben conveyed in every different aspect of the fundamentals of competitive shooting. A beginner will be able to take these 80 minutes and have a clear and justified understanding of where to start to begin shooting competitively and how becoming effective and efficient in these foundational skills will form a solid framework to start from in USPSA. The highlight of the DVD for me was the last segment on "Shot Calling" and how it plays a vital role in USPSA. Ben seemed to effortlessly explain what can be a hard skill to interpret for a newer shooter. His use of "technology stolen from the Russians during the Cold War" highlighted how shot calling is seen from a shooters point of view behind the sights. Throwing in a mix of round table discussions and interesting tidbits from "The Source" kept the DVD from being monotonous of just Ben talking. I would highly recommend buying Foundations if you really want to understand why these basic and fundamental skills are so vital to competition shooting and how to become proficient in these skills. You will leave with the knowledge needed to train correctly and properly under the pressure of the timer. Two thumbs up from this viewer!!!
  13. So this I just happened to have on my phone and can get a little comparison in width. Not perfect as different angles, lighting, etc etc but it looks like the "Scales" are a tad thicker maybe???
  14. I wonder if one were to cut say a 1/2 coil on each end would be any difference than just cutting a whole coil on one end? Or if you were cutting two coils on a spring cutting 1 on each end? Doubt it would but something I've wondered
  15. I will be able to clue you in more next week once the pair being sent to me to test out arrives. I am anxious to see how the grippiness is but also the width in comparison to the EG Extreme vs the factory wood grips. We'll see in few days but they do look pretty awesome in my opinion.
  16. I am getting a pair early next week to test, I'll report back once I get them. The width will be like that of a stippled 2011.
  17. Does anyone have a pair of the old style wood grips that they would trade for a pair of the new ones? I will pay shipping costs. Or add a little something since the older ones seem more popular than the new ones. Thanks Gump
  18. So would you say this would be better possibly than the traditional Nordic clamp?
  19. So these are new comps? No popple holes needed on the barrel?
  20. Yea, it will. This was before I knew a lot about Tanfos inner workings
  21. I ran across old video from last year with my Stock II's. Nealio and Atlas remember this. If you take too much off the disco wing you can get a super light DA trigger but reliability goes out the door, lol
  22. I still have to fit it to the one piece sear but honestly, the Delta works so nice on my primary III that I prolly will stay with it on that one unless I have light strikes and need the extra force from the heavier Titan hammer
  23. The only pin I've ever had an issue with was the right side safety pin. For some reason they were a pain and I mushroomed quite a few before getting a pin to work in a few of my guns
