  1. Well I finally have my identical twins I've wanted!!! Time to go throw few hundred rounds thru the new one today and break it in and test for its first match tomorrow:-)
  2. I guess let me make clear this was first and only 1911 I've owned so my point of reference not great but I think for the $620ish range wife paid and once it gets worked over it'll be a nice SS gun. I don't see it being an elite top of the line 1911 but I have a weakness for Tanfos so figured why change the formula, lol:-)
  3. Ummm, maybe 20-25 rounds. Lol. It was a Christmas present last year from my wife and I figured one day I'll shoot some single stack. It's pretty rough out the box and definitely needs some TLC and tuning. When I'm ready I'm gonna bring to local gunsmith who works pretty exclusive on 1911's. It shot the factory cheap .45 ammo and was accurate. Knocking down bowling pins at 25 yards
  4. The X5s we have had they the shop were all single action only. Do they make one in double action? I'm not sure. Maybe they are all single action. I think if they made a DA/SA model it looks like a good pistol to play in Production
  5. I haven't taken the time to look but is the Sig X5 (I think that's the name) on the production list? The short demo I saw on YouTube seemed like it'd make a great production gun. Could be wrong but at first glance it seemed it would be a better gun than the P320. Again, I'm not a Sig expert though
  6. My Stock III doesn't fit as snug in the COM as it does my blade tech but it doesn't move around enough that I worry the gun coming out. The long retention screws at Ben Stoeger pro shop helped me adjust mine to how I like it. I've only done one match but I am impressed and I think it's gonna be my permanent production holster. I like how the front is cut lower down than the blade tech which I think will enable a faster draw to a certain degree.
  7. I ran one in mine forever and didn't realize was a long slide til guess about month or so ago when there was a thread on here about recoil springs. Worked fine in my Stock II. Didn't feel like real sluggish or anything
  8. I'm impressed with gen4 FP from Henning, it's worked like a charm in both my Stock III's and stock II's
  9. I will definitely try doing this to the Stock III that's still giving me feeding issues. The feeding is only happening on one Stock III, my other has run perfect. It's weird. Hopefully it'll fix my issues like it did for you!!!
  10. I did have 2 but got rid of one and now replacing it as I should have kept it. I think having a backup for a major is a necessity as even trying to do s simple fix at a safe table can be a task. I learned the hard way this year at a major by stacking up 42 mikes on 2 stages due to a screw coming loose in my trigger before switching to my backup.
  11. Dont you already have a few? Hoarding? If owning one Stock II and this becoming my primary and my other a backup makes me a hoarder then I guess so, lol. Not sure how that has anything to do with anything
  12. HawkTech is out of stock as of a few hours ago, he had one this morning but I ended up taking it off his hands
  13. I'm still trying to get my 1-piece sear to fit with my Titan hammer. The safety engages and will stay engaged at half cock and fully cocked but if I engage the safety when the hammer isn't cocked at all I can pull the trigger with good bit of force and make it fire. Prolly end up having to start over with another sear, lol
  14. Everyone can agree to disagree. The props for all the stages are provided by 3 clubs in LA which is paid for by those membership dues and local match fees. The staff is vastly comprised of local shooters who shoot these local matches. The Gator filled up last year in literally 2-3 hours. The MS Classic this year you had to overnight or drive your app to get in. These matches are popular and I think the section members who support the section week in week out in my mind deserve the opportunity to shoot their state match.
  15. I almost added to cart til read no guarantees on time if not in stock, lol
  16. I can't speak for the rest of the nation but how many other majors can fill up in 2 hours on a holiday like the Gator last year? I think it speaks volumes of how popular the match is and I don't have a problem for any state opening up major matches to their section members first, they are usually the ones who make those sections.
  17. I think that due to the incredible popularity of the Gator Classic that regardless how they do signup, someone will be complaining about the signup process. I think that how they did it this year was a good compromise as many of the local shooters who are shooting every weekend and supporting the 3 clubs that we use the props for have a chance to shoot their state match. Last year the whole match filled in a matter of hours.
  18. It's prolly the gen3, the gen4 I think was worth the upgrade.
  19. Factory wood grips or EG grips? I think I got an extra pair of both
  20. I shot my first match today with the COM holster with my stock III and it worked great. My stock ii fits it as well. Very impressed so far
  21. Have you tried both the gen 3 and gen4 Henning firing pins? The FP block may need to be fitted to the Henning firing pins. I tried the cutting a coil off the EG light hammer spring and 2 coils off the EG light FP spring simply to test out. It's a fine balancing act between reliability and chasing the lightest trigger. I'm running the Henning Gen4 FP in both my Stock III's and have a delta hammer on one and a Titan on the other. Using Fed primers I have yet to have a light strike in roughly 600-800ish rounds total since cutting the hammer spring. I only tried to experiment plus being the Gen4 firing pin was a tad longer and 25% lighter I assumed it could somewhat counterbalance the cut coils. If it works with the factory FP then great but personally I would have to run an extended firing pin to feel safe. My little test is that once I've fired the gun if the hammer ends up completely flush with the retainer plate (not being able to push hammer forward any) then it's good to go for me. I actually cut one coil off one end of an EG light hammer spring and one off the other end for 2 coils total and it feels great but only about 100 rounds thru the gun with that spring and zero light strikes yet and want to go least 1000 without any to say it's reliable. Hope this helps
  22. I did that with a Stock III in .40 and really liked it. Made a good limited gun in my opinion
  23. Stock III is a tad longer with a picatinny rail and regular barrel where the Stock II has just the regular full length dust cover and bull barrel. The Stock III "feels more front heavy" in my opinion but that extra weight really helps recoil control in my mind. I have both and like them both. I'd recommend trying to hold both and then decide but course the Stock II is hard to find in 9mm
