    Grips

Alao, with a smaller polymer grip you run the risk of causing mag hang ups if you squeeze too hard when you drop the mag. Thinner it is, the more flex it has. I'm going to a CK Arms metal grip for that reason. Worth the price if you're serious about it, especially after going through 2 or 3 polymer grips trying to find one that works for me.
  2. What market are they trying to reach with that one? Doesn't fit in USPSA really.
  3. I'd email Jeremy, but I'd imagine it would go off of your highest class outside of open or revolver. I'm an M in limited, but A open, so I registered like that.
  4. I'd say it's about as grippy as a DVC grip. I like it a lot and will have one on my open gun here shortly. Also considering getting one for my limited gun. Maybe see if they will do a return if you don't like it and haven't installed it?
  5. Sarge, Thanks for the reality check. I've put about 1500 125 grain BBIs through my Trubor and like it ok, but I tried some 115 grain HAP and liked the snap more than the push of 125s. Cleaned the comp and used hornady one shot every 50 or so rounds and it worked fine. I'm getting a FGW open gun soon and wanted to make sure I wasn't neglecting to try 115s. Besides, cheaper bullets equals more training, right?
  6. Kneeling atlas, Sorry, was typing on phone and trying to keep it short. It was a titanium comp and it died, meaning sheared or blew off his barrel.
  7. Anyone use 115 grain coated for major? I've been using 7.1 WAC with a 125 BBI @ 1.168 with good results and have 1k of the 115s to try. A fellow shooter recommended staying away from 115 grain coated after his comp died using them. Any truth to that?
  8. If you are located close to a manufacturer you can save on shipping by picking up in person. With BBI Chandler shoots local to me. I would send him an email and pick up when he shot a local. Also look into ibejiheads. Alex Salazar is good people too. I will never go back to bare lead, that's for sure. Plated didn't give me as much "bang" for my buck, so I shoot coated in all divisions.
  9. I shot one division last year and regretted it. Open is open. Load em up and blast away. Irons is L10, basically. Worth it for a full day of steel. I plan on shredding some steel with my new FGW open gun.
  10. I believe the SVI inserts are plastic/poly as well. Is it just the aesthetics of it that bother you? I have yet to hear people have problems with the STI triggers.
  11. Same here. Check sent out last Wednesday or Tuesday, and I'm only one state away.
  12. Another reason they are set up to not lock the slide back is that you get more capacity. Shorter follower=more capacity=locks slide back sooner. Grind the tab away on the mag and it doesn't lock the slide back. More rounds, but no lock back. The only games I play where that is bad is when I shoot L10 (for fun) or Pro-Am style steel competitions where you're limited to 10 round mags.
  13. I've seen coated work fine. Spray some case lube in the comp every other stage or so to cut down on the cleaning and enjoy shooting more for less money. As stated, though, I try to stay below 1500 fps so I use 125 grain BBI, transitioning to ibejiheads for 2016.
  14. Scooter, yeah, I believe so. 2015 was the first time it was ran under the new management.
  15. http://matchsignup.org/match/default.php?matchid=559 Anyone planning on shooting this? I kind of want to, but a 10 hour drive for me coming from middle Tennessee. Anyone want to carpool or split lodging?
  16. Registered online and check is in the mail. Looking forward to the match! Great test of my incoming FGW open gun.
