  1. I ended up ordering from two companies. Everything was in stock and free shipping.
  2. That's a great idea. Thanks.
  3. Thanks guys. I placed an order with Midway after they closed so I could not call them to see if they have them in stock. I will call them in the morning.
  4. A nephew is starting USPSA shooting and I am having trouble finding a left handed Kydex drop offset style holster in stock. He called one company that had a sale on on a combo that included the Double Alpha inner and outer belt, 4 Ghost mag pouches and a Ghost drop offset Kydex holster for $169. He checked the left handed version on the order and figured it was in stock because no message to the contrary was received. I told him to call because I suspected that left handed models might be scarce. Sure enough he was told that they are not ready for immediate shipment but he would call my nephew when they came in. It's been over three weeks and he is getting frustrated because he is missing the weekly matches and is leaving for college in 5 weeks. Does anyone have any leads on a company that might have these in stock. He is shooting an M&P Pro. Thanks.
  5. I do the same thing. 5 yards or closer I just naturally started point shooting and they indeed are my fastest stages. I do not practice it but it just feels so natural. For some reason I almost always get alphas. I spoke to several other shooters including a couple of GM's and they confided to doing the same thing.
  6. Probably not worth it. I have Dawson SNL's and had to machine .011 off the bottom to fit the gauge reliably. Left them so thin that the dent deeply when dropped on rocks. I do not think taking it out of the inside will make much of a difference.
  7. Yup, sometimes I believe my dog and horses have a better handle on life than I do.
  8. My dog is very tidy. Since he was 6 months old he decided he was not going to pee or poop in areas around the house or barn and finds remote areas along the tree line to do his business. Well it's that time of the year to trim the tall grass at the edge of the forest. I found out while weed whacking, my dogs latest spot to do his doody. It's amazing how poop vaporizes when coming into contact with high speed plastic string. And I was wearing shorts. The dog heard my expletives and came over to see what was going on. He got one whiff of me and backed up a few steps and looked at me as if he was asking "why would you do something like that?"
  9. Purchased a sharpertek ultrasonic cleaner. Had great success cleaning my 2011 and my wife's XDm 5.25. Tried it on my nephews CZ and it came out spotless. You will still have to run a brush with copper solvent through the barrel. I am using the sharpertek gun cleaner but plan on changing to the MPro7. I turn the heat up to 170 deg. And use the sweep function for 45 min. With most cleaners you will need to preheat the cleaning solution. I also rinse the gun in a clean tub of water then blow it out with compressed air. I put the lube tub into the cleaner and run the party's in itbfor 3 min. Works like a charm and no issues after 5500 rounds.
  10. I have had this problem several times and finally case gaged the ammo that jammed up. They all had a case of " Glock bulge" The case would pivot up on the bulged area in front of the extractor groove. I put them through a Redding push thru die and they fed perfectly. Not saying for sure that this is the problem you are having. You should also check your feed lip dimensions. This was my experience and cure. Somebody else may have another suggestion. Good luck.
  11. I hope to be able to answer succinctly by March 30th. As of today I am down 30 pounds from what I weighed in November. I feel a little better, but so far my scores have gotten worse this year. I am going to keep at it, shooting for another 25 by August. Sorry to hear your scores took a down turn. I can't see how weight loss can cause this. Maybe something else going on?I have only lost ten pounds and my scores have not changed. We will see.
  12. Precision Reloading has VV N320 1# containers.
  13. Sorry to here about your lightning incident. Hope things get fixed up quickly. I too am very familiar with the power of Mother Nature. My house got hit by lightning twice. First time while it was partially built. Framing and windows complete but no plumbing or electrical. The lightninghit a copper valley in the roof and traveled into the ceiling joist hangers and tac welded the nails to the to the steel hangers. Then exited out the the side wall knocking the sofit down. No fire just some scorch marks on the wood. The second time was three years later. We where home when the thunder storm hit. There was a blinding flash that enveloped the whole house with a deafening roaring boom at the same instant. All the power went out immediately. This time our lightning protection system saved the day we have 12 lightning rods on the roof all of which are bonded together with 1/2" copper cable that are also bonded to the electrical and plumbing. There they connect to eight 3/4 inch x 12 foot long copper grounding rods. There are surge breakers on both 200 amp service panels and on the telephone and cable lines. The auto surge breakers did their job and nod reset after ten seconds. We live on top of one of the highest ridges in the county and I took a look at all the 80 plus year old farm houses an barns in the area and noticed they all had lightening rods. Prompted me to spec them on our house build.
  14. Give the thread a read, I've been mulling the cz and clone options myself, now I might have to go with an sp-01... Thanks that is a great review.
  15. All things considered from the above recommendations I will probably end up recommending a CZ from one of the above vendors. I checked all three and it seems only CZ Custom has ready built Shadows. Time is important since my nephew will only have his summer vacation before he heads off to college. Thanks everyone for your input. If anyone has more info please continue to post.
  16. I just wanted to clarify this statement for anyone that is unfamiliar with Production rules. You probably know the rule Eli, it's just your choice of words may confuse some. All DA/SA guns must start with Hammer fully down. There is no rule, in USPSA, that requires a Double action first pull. If a shooter wants to, they can cock the gun at the start and take all shots SA. In the five years I shot Production with a DA/SA gun, i probably did it maybe twice, both times on very long steel first shots. So odds are, you're going to be taking all of your first shots DA, but i wanted to make sure that those reading this that are unfamiliar with the rules know, there is a big difference between "starting hammer fully down" and "must start with a double action first pull." Thanks for the clarification.
  17. $1600 is for the whole rig. He already has the CR Speed belt and magazine pouches he just needs the Bladetech holster. I already reload ammo for him so no reloading equipment or ammo costs for him.
  18. Would he be able to start in SA since they have a safety? Or would he have start in DA since the pistols are capable? No....if you are wanting him to shoot in the production division the hammer has to be down. Single Action guns are not allowed in production so if he is only wanting to start in single action mode, then he should shoot in the limited division or limited 10. Thanks, I just found my rules book. Have to do some reading.
  19. How ore the out of the box trigger pulls?
  20. Would he be able to start in SA since they have a safety? Or would he have start in DA since the pistols are capable?
  21. Looking for some help in a production gun purchase. My nephew is graduating from high school and his parents would like to buy him a nice production pistol with a budget of $1600. He has been shooting his dad's stock XD in .40 S&W for 4 months now and he is ready for a nicer setup. I have heard good things about EAA / Tanfoglio but after studying several websites I can't seem to nail down the exact combo that will fit the following parameters for production. 9mm or .40 minor Fit the box to be production legal Be able to start with single action A 2.5 - 3# trigger pull in SA Short trigger reset and over travel And since he is a youngster he would like it to have nice unique look to it. I am a 2011 Limited shooter so I have not looked much into production. I would like to know what his parents should purchase that would take him to GM if he is capable. I know there are other pistols out there that can fill the need but I am spoiled with a 1911 style trigger so even my wife's modified XDm 5.25 trigger still feels cheesy to me. Any help to steer us in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
  22. Precision reloading has a lot of powder in stock. Too many to list and some in 8# jugs.
  23. Very sorry for your loss. We all love our fury family members and the pain of loss is testament to the love and happiness they bring to our lives.
  24. Zoomy

    Which one?

Black Sweet ice tea or unsweetened
  25. I just use Federal 5.56x45 NATO out to 400 yards in my 18" Faranken rifle. 2" groups at 200 yards and 5" groups at 400 yards. Kentucky windage when needed. Whatever you choose stay with it and learn it well. Like the saying says"fear the man with one rifle". And uses the same ammo consistantly.
