  1. Went on the site today on iPad and everything has changed. On my personal info section there is no longer a "my content" area. Cannot find a recent posts area on the forums page. Why the major changes?
  2. STI cracked on my Limited after about 20K rounds. They would not warranty because of lightening cuts. I built a Caspian replacement and no problems after 15K rounds.
  3. Stainless media will remove a little nickel every time that it is tumbled. It will start the edges and after a couple of tumbles you might see some brass showing.
  4. I would check out Lone Star Innovations. Glen is close by you and does some wonderful CNC multi axis milling. He is a full service gun builder. Check out his adjustable rear sight. The dove tail slides in from the back so the side of the slide is clear and the sight is automatically centered.
  5. Buy the chrono that's bullet proof. Sorry, just shot mine last week. I have been using the chrony brand with good results for 5 years. Results very close to the match chronos.
  6. Totally agree. This is my wife's gun. I tried to explain to her the importance of the front sight but she insists that she needs a vertical alignment reference between the rear and front sight. We will see if it helps. I doubt it.
  7. Yup I kept my thumb over it. Also found out the pin was broken in the middle. Replaced it with a .081 dia. X .75 long dowel pin.
  8. The beauty is a gift for all of us.
  9. The FC brass I purchased I wet tumbled with stainless pins. I rinsed them 4 times and dried them with a fan. I reloaded 2 days later. I switched to my pickup range brass that I cleaned the same way and had no problems.
  10. I purchased a medium flat rate box of .40 that supposedly was once fired from a police range. They are FC stamped and they appear to have crimped primers that about 20% end up scrap because when depriming the end seperates leaving the side wall of the primer in the pocket.
  11. Danger does not always arrive when flying through hostile air. Prayers for family and team members.
  12. Thanks. I was hoping I didn't have to make my own. Out to the machine shop.
  13. I cannot seem to find a manufacturer that makes a fiber optic adjustable rear sight for a XDM 5.25. They are available for the standard XDM but since the 5.25 does not use a standard dove tail nobody seems to have offered one yet. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that offers this sight?
  14. Hard chrome done correctly should be about .0002 thick. Most tolerances on a pistol allow for enough clearance to accommodate this buildup.
  15. Grumpy, I've had CTS in both hands for over 20 years. I almost pulled the trigger on surgery shortly after diagnosis but put it off after a machinist I know had the surgery and was in worse pain after and he was off work for 7 months because of the pain in cranking the handles on milling machines. Did you lose more hand function right after surgery? Doctors always seem to downplay the post surgery rehab and make it seem like once the pressure on the nerve Is released the patient will experience instant relief from the numbing pain they've been experiencing. It's obvious in your situation that the results of your first surgery where we'll worth surgery on the other hand. Wishing you a speedy and successful recovery.
  16. I receive emails on my iPad. I did not see it in my "junk" file. The match director emailed me and said he resent the confirmations but they did not show up in my inbox. I'm at a loss.
  17. Thanks for the info. I guess it's a match management issue.
  18. At a local monthly match registration and squading Practiscore is used. After registering my wife and I I was expecting an email confirmation and a link to manage our registration. This always seemed to happen in a few minutes after registration but the last couple of matches we never received our confirmations. Is this something that should happen automatically from Practiscore or does the local match management initiate the email confirmations?
  19. I like the design. The fixed hinge/trigger support takes out the triggers loose and wobble before you remove take up. Looks like a mechanical improvement from traditional 1911 trigger systems. I have single stack build that I'm almost finished machining. I am seriously considering giving the X-Line trigger a try.
  20. Give Alpha Range in Mchenry Illinois a call. They have a state of the are range that can handle .223 into the side walls.
  21. Welcome to our world. Let the addiction begin. As you probably know, there are many knowledgable people here with good advice. Lots of good 3 gun close by. Rio Salado in Mesa, AZ has there Superstition Mountain 3 Gun this weekend. It's a good one to try out that's not too bad a drive.
  22. Not sure if it would help reaction to auditory stimulus. Different parts of the brain. But light does travel about 1 million times faster than sound I think we should have a strobe flash that goes off went the start button is pushed. Just kidding.
  23. Living on the water and chasing bikinis. But I still had to leave the boat and go to work.
