  1. I'm just a little over 6'2" but I have shorty legs... I wear a 30 and sometimes those are too long. I have a long torso.
  2. Yup, that's what I've got goin right now. So far after a few hundred rounds it has not given me any problems. Recoil has been greatly reduced with a lightweight Voodoo bcg and empty buffer, next up is a SJC Titan
  3. Keep at it, degrees are worth it. I just ended my last academic semester for a master's in physical education, also with 2 alphas. I'm home free, I just have student teaching left. As a gift to myself, I always have some celebratory gunfire. You should try it, haha.
  4. I ran a 28" VM last season, this off-season I'm going to do som research on purchasing ~ 24" barrel or maybe getting the current cut and threaded.
  5. I watched the preview for the next half, looks like Gabriel is giving her as proper of a funeral as anybody could have during the zombie apocalypse.
  6. I run the barrel that is on the Adams Arms 16.5" ultralight. Have not had problems with accuracy or stoppages.
  7. Yes, they offered to fix it at a price that was not conducive to my wallet, but I declined.
  8. There were 8, 8, 8 shells! Ah ha ha haaaa
  9. Black Friday deals will help with getting your gear.
  10. Ended up receiving the order over the weekend, hoping to test the newly outfitted mags out this weekend.
  11. Thank you for the breakdown. I just watched the video you posted on the first page of this thread and re-read this post. I noticed you pulled the stock into your chest and rolled your shoulder forward and lowered your head with the rifle at the low-ready position prior to the beep, I know that I have do not do that during a match, I always ask the SO for a sight picture prior to the buzzer and set my head in a position that would give me a good sight picture for the first target when I bring the rifle up, but I always am slow on the trigger after acquiring a sight picture.
  12. So what is the technique? Pull the rifle in tight and have the rear stock be placed more on the pec major instead of the deltoid?
  13. Flat head screwdriver, get some leverage on that sucker.
  14. Just ordered a few of the follower and spring kits plus another basepad.
  15. I've put about 200 rounds through it in practice and I'm enjoying it. I haven't had any problems, but I haven't ran it hard other than some doubles and transitions.
  16. I just emptied all the weights out of my carbine buffer.
  17. I don't reload in mass, but I did pick up an 8 pound jug of H335 yesterday for a decent price. That along with my mostly empty jars of powder for reloading .223 will last me all season and then some. ETA: I was searching for Varget or CFE223, I only saw 2 of the H335 8lb jugs left for reloading .223 so I purchased half the store's stash.
  18. Hmmm... I have this comp on my dissipator and haven't run it in a match. I'll have to see how it does.
  19. I am debating on getting one for my recent build, For you what benefits are you noticing? Anybody feel free to comment I wanted a low mass carrier and I ended up purchasing it due to being the cheapest one I found, on sale for less than $150. My 18" rifle-length gas barrel and the stock full-mass system would eject mild loads at 12:30 and I'd have a fair amount of movement during recoil. Now that I have changed to the adj gas, low mass bcg, and empty buffer I have loaded lighter loads that are ejecting at 3 o'clock and I am getting much less movement during recoil. The compensator I currently have on it is the Miculek, not sure which compensator I'll end up getting for it.
  20. After a few range sessions, I've enjoyed combining the voodoo low mass, empty carbine buffer, and adjustable gas block. Next to move on to upgrading the comp.
  21. Are there any drills out there to help guide practices? Do you treat rifle practice the same as pistol practice by working on transitions and decreasing the time it takes to put the first shot on target after a transition? I know with shotgun figuring out where your slugs will hit and reloading are two big components along with making sure you have good hits/knock down steel on first shot. And with pistol working with draws and transitions plus mag changes. I'm probably missing out on some things, I just don't know what I don't know.
  22. Took mine out today. With carbine buffer/action spring/carbine tube/standard bcg it was ejecting mild loads at 5 o'clock. I was also hitting the torso target pretty consistently at 200y standing offhand.
  23. Have you ended up making either of the comps you've shown above or variants of them?
  24. I run my 16.5" Voodoo Ultralite with standard carrier, buffer, and spring.
