  1. Older thread but still pertinent: After firing a few hundred rounds on two different range sessions a month apart my Glock's wouldn't dry fire no more without excessive force on te triggers. G34 and a G35 with Ghost Rocket connectors. The first time I had this problem it was traced back to powder residue on the surface of the connector and trigger stop, that was cured with a couple strokes of a file. The recent problem seemed to be related to something inside the slide. I took apart the grip frame and cleaned everything and the problem still occurred, then I cleaned the slide assembly and it dissapeared. On the other Glock I did the slide first and everything was back to normal. I didn't notice any type of excessive fouling or brass/aluminum shavings from the ammunition to cause problems. If they are clean they work flawlessly, but they don't work well when dirty? I REALLY like my Glocks and this is a concern since I do CCW with these, so this was an eye opener. I'll remove a bit more material from the Ghost Rocket trigger stops to see if the problem continues, if it does i'll remove the stop tabs or just use them for competition.
  2. Sadly I don't have the room for another reloading press but if I find a 550 cheap enough I will have to figure something out. The 650 takes up a bit of room on one side of the bench while my Co-AX sits on the other. My reloading room is a combination laundry/sewing/ironing/spare bedroom as well. Space is a premium but, it's better than a garage so I ain't complainin.
  3. In NUMEROUS past threads it does exert less pressure on the elbow due to the shorter/single down stroke, some have even upgraded from the 550/650 to the 1050 for that very reason. Maybe i'll find a used one at much savings one day... Until then I have faith in my 650 and my roller handle.
  4. A 650 with 5 caliber conversions, seperate deswaging tool, a bunch of primer tubes, casefeeder, Big Dillon tumbler, and a couple of other things can equal the price of a 1050 setup for one caliber... If you have the money the 1050 can be nice, it just didn't fit in my budget or plans especially for multiple calibers. Disadvantage of the 650, small working space for large fingers to correct things before the ram is allowed to return.
  5. Which Arredondo's are the box compliant versions, 140mm? Wouldn't that give you a total of 20rds?
  6. After placing a small order of 12.5k bullets, Dave was telling me that a LOT more bullet weights and configurations will be offered after Christmas... Case deals are still available, I am POSITIVE my USPS lady is going to hate me... 9mm-125gr fp-3500 count $150.5 shipped (same price for .38/.357 125gr fp) .40 - 185gr RNF - 2500 count $139 shipped .45 - 230gr RNF 2000 count $118 shipped
  7. A little off-topic here: How does Taurus get away with their "Triad" Revolver? 9mm, .38 special and super, and .357 Magnum I have been looking at that revolver for a bit but finally broke down and purchased a 340PD instead, and to my amazement a 9mm round wouldn't go into the cylinder... So is the Taurus cylinder just bored out to accept the different rounds and uses moonclips to aid specific 9mm extraction? I haven't personally seen one of the pistols but I am unsure if they are out yet. I have been tossing the idea around of getting another cylinder in 9mm for the little 340 as ammo costs would be less and extraction would be a 200% improvement over what it is now in OEM configuration. Reloading .38 special/.357 isn't a problem but since I already have a few 9mm's.... I can't imagine that too many people with these small J-frames would be interested in a Ti 9mm piece, but I am one of them who would be.
  8. I haven't heard nothing but I do have cash waiting for when they are announced.
  9. Some people have reported slide cracking after having the factory variety cut. In the next few months KKM will be introducing some Glock slides, maybe due to better steel cracking will be a non-issue.
  10. 4 weeks is pretty short... I am a waiting for a black horsey VM2 for a Glock 34 as I was impressed with a VM2 black horsey that I have for my 5" DW 1911.. The waiting does suck, I was lucky on the first holtser since LAS had it but the second is coming directly from Milt Sparks. I was calling around today trying to find a set of Spegel grips but NOBODY has them in stock, might be available in Oct with a price increase....
  11. I am using an RCBS Lockout Die on a 650 for pistol calibers, works as advertised in preventing squibs though I have never had a double charge. $20 a die is reasonable as well so I have a few toolheads with them mounted.
  12. S&W factory Leather? 5.5" leather with thumbstrap, a little modifying and it might work for you.
  13. I have had no problems with my NXS 5.5-22x56 NPR2, riding in GG&G steel rings on top of a GG&G 20MOA Scout mounts... 24" Ar-10T...

    Glock 34

2" at 25 yards with Blazer AL ammo has been my experience as well. Factory barrel and the only work was to add a GhostRocket.
  15. I am curious as to the specs as well, steel type, features, warranty if any? (Hmm, a release date right before Christmas.... good timing) I wonder, if the slide was deburred and shot peened after the lightening, if the cracks could have been prevented.? I have a 34 and a 35 and would like to mill the rear of the slide ala G18 style but most cracked slides end up being Glock OEM, milled and untouched.
  16. Don't shoot the sky screens, don't shoot the sky screens, a 12v source and inverter works better than a AC adapter for the IR screens, the bag sucks- a cheap aluminum case from Home Depot works better, place the leg with the tripod mount facing the shooter and the other away, and don't shoot the sky screens. Their technical line is real helpful, just be sure you have plenty of minutes on your phone when you give them a ring... (Most questions were related to the software features and updates.)
  17. I purchased mine directly from CED as well, saved some dough and was told of preferred accessories and other stuff/tips as to what can be fabricated instead of buying.
  18. Just picked up three phones and a newer contract, it's a little easier when a friend works at the same place... pay by month.. Motorola Razr v3 Sony Ericcson Z500 and a cheaper Nokia brick. A PITA....
  19. Grabbed a set of Novak low pro fixed type sights for my G34 and G35 and some blank front sight posts which need some material taken off the top to hit POA. I am still using the OEM front sight and haven't put in the novak version, a special nut driver will be required as it will have to fit the small bottom hole of the slide. I filed a bit off the rear sights to make installation easier, which consisted of a 2x4 and a hammer. A sight pusher would be easier and cleaner, not to mention windage adjustments could be more accurate. I like the Novaks as the rear sight blade always appears black, more so with a little carbide smoke...
  20. Add new rules, grass has to be cut around staging area or grass blades not to exceed 2" and indoor stages neat and clean or bumpers placed around props to prevent magazine slidings...
  21. What do you do? Slip it through the slots in the sides of the mag? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hold it on top if the button sideways and press down.
  22. 2002 VW Golf Turbodiesel 5-sp... brakes were replaced at 70k miles due to the rear brake pad wear, front pads were 30%. I am in Houston and drive like a LeMans racer... (very hard stops and downshifting compared to riding the brakes to slow one down.) Perhaps change to a brake fluid with a higher boiling point, maybe the fluid is heating up and is dragging on the rotor?
  23. colored base pads can help, even flourescent... I have seen one fellow use some red tape on the bottom area of his Glock mag as well. During stages indoors you'll be amazed at how far a mag can slide across the floor, often underneath barricades and under other staging setups... I agree that most shooters are a respectable bunch, but since I don't trust anyone I am not out to find those few that aren't. For $90 a mag perhaps use a tether attached to your belt?
  24. I purchased a drop in Jarvis barrel for a G35, much better case support and if it jammed it was due to my reloads being too long or a weak Arredondo +20 mag spring. I'm sure I can mike and it measure a slight bulge but visually it doesn't exist. I'm sure the factory barrel would do fine with lead type of loads as long as the buildup is removed, if not that means extra pressure... Plus 180gr, OEM barrel, and Bullseye isn't what I want to try in one of my guns. Accuracy is about the same as the factory tube but for some reason the aftermarket barrel seems more nose heavy.
