The bearing stops the shell plate in the correct position but the 1050 has guide rods on it that help line everything up also, without the bearing the snap is gone and it still lines up correctly.
Got DQ'ed at my first major match, A1 two years ago, broke the 180 on a up range start really disappointing but what are ya gonna do, I was to worried about my daughter shooting and paying more attention to what she was doing than myself.
I run a 550b and have had primers flip but I'm 99% sure it's operator error, most likely happens when you are pushing the pick up tube over the primer but regardless of who's fault or where I just absorb the 1 cent loss and load on.
Used the 185 gr VLD's In my 308, accurate as hell, was shooting a 1000 yds with them but they wouldn't reliably cycle in my AR 10, would get jammed up in the feed ramp.
I don't think I own a gun without scratches but that first one always turns your stomach, I say get over it now it's official ya race ready gun, shoot the heck out of it and have fun!
I was thinking lube also, was using tight group for a minor load and lubed with Dillon case lube and had the exact same thing happen. After a few rounds I stopped for the day went home and pulled a few bullets and you could see the powder sticking to the case walls and hardly any on the primer.
