  1. I have a chance to buy some nickel plated brass. I have never used nickel before are there any problems with using it in 38 super its Winchester. Thanks
  2. I used an 8# spring with a buff in my 9mm Spartan. I was shooting Winchester White Box.
  3. Can you remove it and still be production legal ?
  4. I have an M&P Pro 5" 9 . I have fired around 300 rounds through it and had 4 failure to extract. I also installed an Apex AEK and had 2 failure to ignite. I wouldn't call it a light strike cause there were no marks on the primer at all. I only shot about 50 rounds before installing the Apex and had no problem with ignition. Anyone have this problem after an Apex install ? Any opinions on the failure to extract ? Thanks, SR
  5. The bushing broke the ring survived. Thanks for the responses
  6. Any one know if there is a problem with the Briley bushings. The smith at Briley said he has only seen 3 break in 17 years. Just wondering if anyone else had this happen ? He may not be aware of some these breaking. He is sending me another one at no charge I will have to pay to have it fit. Should I maybe have another brand instead ? The pistol only has 4000 rounds through it. Thanks, SR
  7. I just picked up an M&P Pro and from looking at the barrel pictures it is the older one. It only had 50 rounds through it when I got it, which was just yesterday. I shot it this AM. I went 5 yards to about 50 with two shots each at 5,10,15,25 and 50. There were 8-A zone hits and 2-C's just outside the A. I would say accurate enough. First time with an M&P. I have only shot 1911's or 2011's for the most part so big trigger difference. Just my experience, SR
  8. I run a 10# spring shooting major in my STI
  9. Find some one locally that can cut a dovetail. Any machine shop should be able to do it.
  10. How could drive the ejector onto the slide it's pinned in ? I can see it breaking the ejector.
  11. I believe you need to fit the firing pin stop to the specs on the instructions and radius it as well . It may slide it but that doesn't mean it's right.
  12. I am shooting major. Thanks for all te response.
  13. Wolff. Thanks. The buff seems to hold up pretty good. I was thinking of two buffs but the gun runs so good now I don't want to mess with it. Thanks
  14. I really like the feel of my 40 Briley Signature Series with a 10 pound recoil spring. It has a LWD a bushing barrel and a lightened slide. I use a shock buff. Will it hurt the pistol to shoot it with that light of a spring ? I use a 7 pound with a buff in my open gun. Thanks SR
  15. This is good advice.
  16. One that never misses. I have tried all the good builders and haven't found one yet.
  17. I have been shooting 180 JHP xtreme and am wanting to try some 165 JHP MGB with Titegroup. Anybody have a starting point ? They will be coming out of a Briley Signature Series STI LWD. It seems to like 1.175 to 1.180 OAL. Thanks, SR
  18. I think STI is going down hill. I bought an STI SS grip safety and went through hours of work trying to polish it to look half way presentable. I will never buy a factory STI pistol again. I bought a SteeleMaster and went through hell trying to make it work. SR
  19. I was watching a old tape of the nationals and Todd Jarret telling his strategy for this match was to spend more time on sight and make it up moving. He won that year. A good strategy for any match.
  20. A friend of mine has been shooting his limited STI with a cracked frame for a long while with no problems. He say's he is going to shoot it till it stops working lhen fix it.
  21. Thanks for all the info. I am shooting a 5" Briley Signature Series 40, LWD, bushing barrel, tungsten guide rod, 10#spring with a buff. 4.5 grains of Tightgroup under a 180 Extreme Plated bullet 1.175 OAL lightly crimped. I haven't tried any 165's just wanted some opinions to see if I wanted to go to the trouble to find some. Thanks a lot, SR
