  1. Don't trust everything you see on you tube. READ the instructions. Just my experience, SR
  2. I have one and love it. It shoots soft and tracks great. I installed an Aftec extractor and a Brazos tuned ejector right out of the box before I even fired it and have never ever had a MF. It might have run without but I eventually install that combo anyway. SR
  3. I wouldn't run any thing without an Aftec . SR
  4. I was lucky enough to have placed an order on the 27th. May have to wait a year to get it. SR
  5. Doesn't Rob Leatham shoot a 6" limited gun ?
  6. I am interested in this topic as well. SAMMI specs say's 1.130. The factory WWB are 1.160 and the Federal American Eagle's are 1.155. Reloading guides range from 1.130 to 1.145. So would one go with what feeds the best and is the most accurate. I have been shooting the factory in my STI edge and my SteelMaster and have never had a feeding problem and the accuracy seems to be ok. Thanks, SR
  7. I have run Aftec's for years and have never had a problem ever. I have had problems with traditional ectractors that's why I tried the Aftec's to begin with. I will never use anything else. I am sure that traditional extractors can be tuned to run but why bother when you can throw in an Aftec and be done with it. SR
  8. I think the springs and followers go hand and hand. I don't believe the followers will fit on normal springs. SR
  9. My guess is the ejector. I would get a Brazos tuned ejector and an Aftec extractor and be done with it. I have that set up in my SteelMaster and it runs flawlessly, but before I went with that set up I could not get through 30 rds without a malfunction. I also got a new Edge a while back and installed that set up before ever firing the pistol and have never had a malfunction ever. Just my experience, SR
  10. I have 2 - Ruger 22/45's one for open and one for iron sights. Go to the Volquartzen site and see all the mods you can do to them. They are a lot of fun to shoot. SR
  11. I don't think they will get it passed.
  12. What is way past the power factor ? What problems would I get loading mouse fart loads ? I plan to load to about 135 PF. Thanks, SR
  13. RocketCity1911, Did you try locktite blue or red on the VQ comp ? Thanks, SR
  14. simmons, Did you change any of the springs such as the recoil or main/hammer spring ? j0s3ph, I will keep you posted . Thanks, SR
  15. Thanks. I will do that if I decide to go that way. I have been thinking lately that this could be an excuse to buy another pistol. Thanks again for the help, SR
  16. Yes I have. I just don't know if the slide will hold up it's got some pretty large lightening holes. Thanks a lot, SR
  17. I would like to have two top ends one for major and still be able to use the original SteelMaster top end for minor. Is there any downside to fitting another top end on a SteelMaster ? Could running a different top cause it wear different and start causing problems when going back to the original top ? Thanks, SR
  18. I had that problem with the Quinn III so I sent it back. I did some research and found that Cameron Custom Guns has adjusted theirs to fit on round top slides. I ended up with the Brazos offset as opposed to a 90 degree. I just like the vertical mount better. The only reason I was changing was ejection issues. SR
  19. No concern. VV shows a load for it. Just looking for opinons. If you don't mind what is your load for both ? Thanks a lotSR
  20. I have always used the lightest spring that I can get my pistols to function with. I just got an STI SteelMaster and an STI Edge in 9mm and they both came with the light RM and I really like them so far. SR
  21. I have some VV 350 and was wondering if anyone has tried in 9 minor 124gr. I also have some VV 105 laying around . Thanks, SR
  22. I have one on my open gun and it's does make it easier to get off the table and don't have to worry about the mag button getting pressed. I don't know if I would put one on just for that reason. I find it very functional for muzzel flip and grip consistancey and it is just plain comfortable. Like I said before I never had one until I got this SteelMaster a couple months ago and so far I like it. I might just put one on my limited gun if in fact they become legal. Thanks, SR It does hit in three spots the magwell the saftey and the thumbrest.
  23. I never used one till one came on an open gun I bought and I really like it. I am going to try one on my limited gun now that they are legal. Thanks a lot, SR
