  1. He would probably be glad it was shorter when someone shoves it (I'll be nice) where the sun don't shine.
  2. I really like my 686. I had an Rizzini single barrel trap gun and it was not near the quality of my Beretta. I believe there are 3 Rizzini brothers, mine was made by Isadore Rizzini, which from what I read was not the top of the line. It did go bang every time I pulled the trigger, it just felt cheap.
  3. Clay shooting is very addictive. Pretty much all I shoot anymore is clays. Are you just going to shoot skeet? Do you have a budget? My guess is you will venture over into other clay games as well. I have 4 shotguns, one for skeet, one for trap, one for sporting clays and one that I use for pasture clay's. You don't need all of those I just wanted them, a good over/under sporting or a good semi auto could be used in all of these games. For good all around starter gun I would and did go with a Beretta A-400 Sporting. It is adjustable for fit with the provided shims, gas operated for low felt recoil. Then the addiction sets in and you end up with a safe full of them. A good suggestion would be to go out to the range and rent a couple different guns and try them before you buy. If they don't rent them I am sure most anyone out there would let you try theirs. Most of all have fun with it. Good luck.
  4. Anybody know how long will the battery last in my FF3 if I leave it on automatic all day? Thanks
  5. I would go for an Italian gun before one made in Turkey. The Browning BT99's are made in Japan but have read good things about them, check the classifieds on Shotgun World. They sometimes have some good deals there.
  6. I said I might be hooked well I think I need to go to shotguns anonymous. I just added a Beretta 20 gauge 686 Silver Pigeon to my addiction. After a Year and a half of shotgunning I now have 4 shotguns. Beretta 686 SP1 Sporting 12 Gauge 30" Beretta 686 SP1 Field 20 Gauge 28". Thanks to warpspeed for buying one of my other guns. I.Rizzini LX680 Gold Trap 12 Gauge 32" Winchester 1300 20 Gauge Pump. This pump gun is so much fun to shoot. It's got to end here.
  7. I have had it for about a year and have put several thousand clay's through it. The only issue I have had with it is sometimes It won't feed the last clay and I have to dry fire it and then it will feed it. Other than that it works flawlessly. The remote works great with the delay. I hang it on the zipper of my vest (I have the delay set for about 6 seconds) press the button and wait for the target.
  8. Got one for my Wheely Bird 2.0 delivered on Thursday. I went out to the BLM on Friday and tried it out. It is awesome. It throws targets from about 3 feet off the ground to almost straight up and everywhere in between and left to right and everywhere in between. You just never know where its going to throw it. Man when the targets come out of there at about 3 feet off the ground they seem really fast and then it will shoot one almost straight up and they seem really slow. I think this is going to be a helpful practice tool. Not to mention a lot of fun.
  9. My WheelyBird works great. Mine has a remote control with an adjustable delay.

    Fundamentals

I bought myself a ShotKam for Christmas. It is an awesome learning tool. I was shooting some skeet (which I really suck at) and the guys I was shooting with kept telling me I was missing behind the clay. I was using my ShotKam for the first time and when I got home and looked at the videos of the shots there wasn't one of my misses that was behind the clay. They were all way under. I was running out of swing and the barrel was dipping. I went out a couple day's later with my Wheely Bird and shot crossers from both directions and focused on foot position and moving only my upper body, like a turret. I hit 24 out of 29 (that's all I could shoot as it was 30* and I was standing in a foot and a half of snow). When I checked the ShotKam after that round the misses were from stopping the gun. I also noticed that even on some of my hits that I was slowing my swing. I need to focus on follow through and keeping the gun moving. I guess my point to all of this is that the ShotKam is an awesome tool and I think it will shorten the learning curve. Just my experience. Thanks
  11. I have WheelyBird 2.0. Works every time I push the button.
  12. You say you started out as a one eyed trap shooter do you still shoot one eyed? Thanks a lot and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
  13. I am still trying to learn this game. I do ok at trap. I average around 20/25. 23 is my highest. I really suck at skeet but don't get much chance to shoot it. I really want to shoot Sporting Clay's and 5 Stand but the nearest range that offers them is over 100 miles one way for me. Oh well, it's all fun as long as I am putting lead back into the environment.
  14. I found a Verona smith in Lake Havasu. He used to work at the factory. He services them and has parts. I did go ahead and get it but for way less than he was asking. It seems to be a pretty good shotgun. Has an adj. comb and Gracoil recoil reduction system that is fully adjustable.
  15. I have a Beretta A400 SA and a Beretta 686 O/U and like them both. I am setting up my A400 as a dedicated trap gun. I have a shell catcher and by shimming the stock I can raise the POI. I will use my 686 for all other games. You can't go wrong with a Beretta SA. Like has already been said it is addicting. I hardly shoot USPSA any more. I am hooked.
  16. I am looking at at used one and can't find much info as far as value. He is asking 1,750.00 but already said he would come off of that. Anyone know anything about this gun Model # is LX680GTSB-12. Thanks a lot
  17. I was torn between the A400 and the 686 Silver Pigeon. I got the A400 and really like it but could not get SP out of my mind so I ended up with both. If I had to choose I would keep the SP. I really like it. The A400 fit me well right out of the box. The SP LOP was a little long but fixed with a shorter recoil pad. Now all I need is Practice, Practice, Practice.
  18. I definitely am going to train to shoot with both eyes open and no tape. I am just excited to find at least part of my issue with right to left targets. I am doing the 3 bullet drill a couple times a day. I am pretty sure I will figure it out. Like I said before I am having fun with it. Thanks for all the help.
  19. I went out today with the wheely bird to practice targets from right to left with eguapo's explanation in mind. I tried shooting both eyes open with no tape on the left lens. Didn't seem to make much difference, got pretty much the same results. I hit most left to right and from behind and missed from right to left. So I thought I would try closing my left eye. I kept both eye's open till I picked up the clay then closed my left to get the lead and break the clay. I broke the first one and about 20 more in a row after that switching between my SA and O/U. Thanks to eguapo's explanation that prompted me to try this, I think I am on the right track. I am hoping that the 3 bullet drill will teach me to shoot with both open but if not I have read where some do close one eye. Thanks eguapo. I am excited.
  20. Thanks a lot for that explanation. I will work that 3 bullet drill over and over and hopefully overcome this dilemma. Thanks again I will keep you posted on my results.
