  1. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/789161912 New version of stock 1, IDPA legal, available now but I think they are priced a bit high at the moment. Limited pro's are still supposed to be shipped this year, they are a little late, I think they were initially looking for them to arrive mid to late summer.
  2. Nerve racking. If you take it a smidge too far you will not be the first.
  3. Depends on how fussy you are. My guns have PD bolo, Titan hammer, 1 piece sear, extended firing pin block, lighter hammer spring, PD or Xtreme extended firing pins & fp springs, reduced weight trigger return spring. Basically I just asked Joe at Patriot Defense what goodies to get for the best trigger I could get. Lots of folks put in extra power extractor springs, I use stock unless I have an issue. You do not need all that stuff but for me it is worthwhile.
  4. "If everyone agrees, then nobody is thinking" I was surprised when I shot a friends open gun at how much quieter it was from the shooters position than from the r.o.'s position at the side, and, there is a wide range of sound pressure level with different open guns and loads.
  5. I assume you can use it to fine tune point of aim at the range? When I had CZ's with fixed sights and the CZ specific sight tool I used it a lot. If you have adjustable sights or are not obsessive-compulsive about poa then it may not be worthwhile.
  6. The scoring rules are pretty clearly laid out in the USPSA rulebook. One case is a no-shoot penalty and the other one is not. I think it is a good idea to either read the scoring rules or have somebody at the range explain them to you. That is not being snarky, it is a game, so there have to be rules. I think with IDPA shoot throughs count, but it has been a while since I've looked at those rules.
  7. Not just Glock, or IDPA. No Dremel or file rules are stupid.
  8. 3 or 4 on gun broker if you search for ifg, but overpriced by $150 right now.
  9. 7. Les Baer, 1911, Premier II, 9MM Luger, 1.5 in. Accuracy Guarantee, Green Fiber Optic Front Sight, Single Safety ... Delivered Price - $2,604 In stock at 1911 Heaven. I have been thinking about such things
  10. You might decide to become a nobody after a few matches , for a 1911 person a soft shooting 9mm 1911 can be really nice. Reloading is either part of the fun or a chore depending upon who you are talking to or how you are geared.
  11. The last time I worked a level 2 the RM made sure that we did not have any line on top of line targets on my stage. I think what one person would see as a sloppy set up another person would see as a set up that avoids scoring issues. +100
  12. Trying to remember how a CZ behaves when you bump the safety up a very tiny bit during recoil or reloading . In any case DSPerman extra power safety springs are a popular reliability mod.
  13. Oh, good thing for a newbie to know is that some of the suppliers have forum discounts if you tell them you are a Benos person.
  14. https://techwearusa.com/g10-dualtec-semi-aggressive-fat.html Is one of the versions of that grip + their system Magwell the new hotness for USPSA SS or is it something else? Figured the op would want to know & I'm making the dive back in myself.
  15. Reminds me of when I worked for my Dad during summers.
  16. A lot of buzz about the somewhat new Sport Pistol powder being a cheaper alternative. Never bought VV because I never had a powder where I thought dirty burning was an issue, am about half way down on an 8 lb jug of SP though (147 gr 9mm loads) does seem like it is cleaner than what I'm used to.
  17. 0.05 second per stage on average. (0.0 most of the time but there will be that stage once in a while where you start with a really tough shot and take more time to insure a smooth pull) Pure wild guess.
  18. Wise man. The S2 out of the box is nice, but if you are used to a really well set up CZ then you will want to get it to that level (at least I did).
  19. It depends. You can buy a 1911 that has been proven to shoot 1.5" or better 50 yard groups and I think CZ Custom makes similar guarantees on their accuracy-bushing guns (not sure about CZC, from memory). For strictly off the shelf guns priced about the same, then I think you are correct.
  20. My order of preference was: Tango stock 2 or 3 or LP CZ SP01 variant CZ Shadow 2 They are all fine guns but I wouldn't assume you will like any of them better than what you have, best to shoot a friends gun or at least handle all of them.
  21. Not sure how often these guys shoot 3 divisions? In any case the recent accomplishment is indeed impressive. I was always impressed by TGO winning SS nationals and then Revolver the day after, largely because I can't imagine making that big of a switch that fast.
  22. Shocking that you would say something like that about any fiddling with a gun. Shocking I say.
