  1. anyone make a "buffer spring" tester ?
  2. I have Taccom carbon fiber hand guards on 2 of my PCC's... rock solid... no wobble .... lightweight... no need to locktite the screw ... VERY reasonably priced...
  3. i am using a Blitzkrieg 5007 buffer...not the HD version... bolt is Taccom with the weight in.. .. all 3 of my PCC's are running this set up... one of them is a Stag upper and lower... #2 i used Taccom upper and Quarter Circle 10 lower... #3 i used Taccom upper with a Spike lower... using this set up... the dot barely wiggles.. i can shoot a 6 shot Bill Drill & cover all 6 shots with a quarter..... try different springs.... i ordered springs from Springco.... RED - RED/WHITE - WHITE - YELLOW... i like the white best thus far.... 100 gr bullets are scarce lately......
  4. correct.. 3.9 gr Sport Pistol powder..i did not chrono these loads as of yet.. the local range is closed to the public because of the COVID19 virus until further notice... however.... i did change the recoil spring in my newest build... and shot it in a practice match in Garyville.. it seems to have solved the problem.. i initially thought that particular spring was not suited to my bolt & load set up..........the spring i used was a Springco "red" . i called Springco , .. they recommend sending in to them... they replaced it.. so i think that spring was defective..
  5. first off... i do not shoot in the rain... all the ranges i shoot shuts down when its raining... so your gauche question does not warrant an answer..
  6. did you order the upper and lower as a "matched set" .. i think Quarter Circle does this...
  7. if an experienced RO knows what they are doing.. re-shoots are a mute point..
  8. barrels are a part of a gun... i do clean my guns ..... have my own method ..will continue to doing it..
  9. I think shooting a 22 cal is good practice to hone your skills for transitioning targets..
  10. Taccom has lightweight hand guards ... very reasonable... 2 of my PCC;s has the carbon fiber handguards..
  11. I would not like to have an out of battery detonation shooting one of these ..
  12. I used a Taccom 5.25" ULW barreled upper on one of my PCC's builds ... my first trip to the local range... this range requires shooting a RIFLE .. on the rifle portion of their range.. only target setups are at 100 yards.... i could cover a 5 shot group with the palm of my hand using a bench rest at 100 yards... ... surely this is accurate enough to shoot USPSA .. My point ???? ....... you don't need a 14.5" or a 16" barrel for USPSA ...
  13. nothing beats a "spare gun" .. when your main gun breaks..
  14. I built 2 PCC's ... first one i used a Taccom 5.25" barrel & lightweight shroud, QC10 lower ... it ran 100% from day one.. still running with over 10K rounds down the pipe... second PCC was a 10/16 Taccom upper and i used a Spikes lower... this PCC has also ran 100% from day one .. Spikes lower was over $145 less than the QC10 lower.. there are lots of quality parts out there .. if assembled & tuned correctly they will work..
  15. Winchester are my "last resort" primers... they hang up constantly in my RF100 primer feeder... its obvious Winchester primers are not top notch ... why do you think they are one of the most available primers... ?
  16. decided to try a Rise Armament 140 trigger... price was right.. $85.00
  17. Anyone have any experience with the above trigger ? thinking about getting one for my .223 AR 15... tia
  18. b buffer spring... replaced it with a brand new Springco spring .. now my latest build "runs like a paper bag in the wind" ...
  19. found the problem with my 100gr bullets in my PCC... shot a match last night .. PCC & 100gr bullets ran 100% ... VERY ACCURATE... dot just wiggles ... I LIKE THESE BULLETS/LOADS...
  20. i have shot over 2K of 100gr .380 bullets in my PCC .. have not stuck a bullet in the barrel yet.. great load for steel challenge..
  21. I built 2 PCC's using Taccom uppers ..the 5.25" barrel I used Quarter 10 Circle lower, the 10 - 16 upper I used a Spikes lower.. .. and the 3rd i used a Stag lower with a 16" light weight Faxton barrel.. no problems mixing these different uppers to lowers as far as fitment..... after some experimenting with springs, bullet weights & powder loads .. they all run 100% .. and all three PCC's are Colt style mags... one recommendation i may add... shoot factory ammo for the first 50 or so rounds..... then change to your reloads...
  22. Yep... plunk test is the first thing i did before loading enough for a match.. this barrel accepts 1.165" ... so COL is not the problem..
  23. I loaded some 100gr Berry's HB bullets with 3.9gr SP powder to a COL of 1.125" for a SC match last weekend...my new PCC with a Taccom 10 - 16 barrel .. spent brass ejected but the next round would not make it into chamber for 5 strings....so my first stage was null .. I changed to my older PCC with the Taccom ULW with the 5.25" barrel it ran 100% for the remaining stages. right at 165 rounds.......both guns have the very exact components except the barrel..... now I have to figure why/what/where .. anyone have advise ?
  24. LRBHO ... are prone to breaking ... my PCC's do not lock back..
  25. i used a cheap buffer tube on one of my builds... then i changed to a better quality buffer tube .. which helped a lot..
