  1. You need a new recoil spring. When you seat the mag it's knocking the slide slightly out of battery. The recoil spring is too light to keep it / return it fully into battery. The slide is only a little out of battery, so the trigger still breaks but the striker doesn't hit the primer. I had to change out 13lb recoil springs every 3k rounds to keep this from happening. A 15lb spring should fix the issue.
  2. It's the same top end on both guns iirc.
  3. Great match. It ran well and stages were great. A lot of them were deceptively difficult.
  4. Personal recommendations are Cleaner, Mpro7 or Weaponshield Both work well and don't stink so you can use them inside the house. Lube, Lucas Extreme duty gun oil or Cuda Lube for oil, Slide glide for grease depending on the gun.
  5. I have two 75 Shadow Customs from CZC. Both have loose roll pins in the front sight. I just LockTight the heck out of them. Interestingly the rear sight on one gun is so tight that you can barely move it with a hammer. The rear sight on the other gun is so loose that it will fall out if not filled with lock tight. I love my CZ's functionally, but Glocks are built a lot more consistently. In spite of that, I prefer to shoot the CZ's and am gradually getting rid of the Glocks. I can verify that. I work for Glock.
  6. I could use the dimensions of the front sight roll pin, one of my guns sight pin is loose enough to make me nervous. It doesn't seem to move with the sight installed, but it pops out super easy when I changed sights.
  7. Stages look great on the ground. Challenging and fun.
  8. I can verify the thumb roll method works safely with a 1911. Every once in a while I shoot single stack for a break from production. I have decocked my 1911 a couple of times.
  9. I would guess that it is related to the movement of the gun during recoil. The different loads are leaving the barrel at a different point of the barrel's movement. It is likely as small as the barrel harmonics are causing the bullet to exit in a slightly different position with each load.
  10. It's pretty easy to tell the standard shadow/ sp-01 hammer, the CZ comp hammer, and the Cajun gun works hammers apart. The chrono guy at a major has likely seen a bunch of the production legal hammers by now, so anything that looks different stands out. On less common guns it's going to be harder to tell what is what.
  11. The decocker design of the tactical was clearly a practical joke/ ploy to sell replacement springs by CZ designers. Seriously, the decocker guns are a pain to work on and the trigger is not usually an nice as a safety version.
  12. I think I read something here the CZ Custom hammer isn't production legal anymore. Not 100%, hopefully somebody will correct me if I'm wrong How would it not be production legal? It is a factory part available on a production approved gun direct from CZ (not only CZ custom).
  13. Another vote here for the rolling method.
  14. I am absolutely not trying to be argumentative, but . . . . Sorry, but NOTHING is fool proof. De-cock the way you feel safest, but don't assume ANY method cannot or will not, let you down! As soon as you make something fool proof, along comes an idiot.
  15. .090 Currently I'm using CZC comp rear sight. After A6 I will probably try the new Dawson precision sights, I like the wider rear notch. The front sight they list is super short (.155 IIRC) compared to the .215 I'm running so I'll probably call and ask them about it when I order.
  16. NON chlorinated. Chlorinated can react with some steels and cause weakness including cracking.
  17. Peter is a great MD. I'd assume there will be a good mix of stages; long, medium, and short. I'd plan on at least one standards type stage. At least one stage with strong and weak hand shooting.
  18. In theory carbon steel is a little stronger (depending on the type of steel, heat treating, etc) but stainless is more rust resistant. Stainless will still rust but will rust slower (at least with the common stainless alloys used in firearms).
  19. Current provisional rules for PCC prohibit use of suppressor. It's virtually guaranteed that the timer is going to miss shots on a suppressed PCC, especially when you think about ports and odd shooting positions we end up in.
  20. If you order the +5% springs you will get the +10% spring. If you order the +10% you will get the +15%. I've used both in the mecgar 17 round mags with no problems, but I think the +5 is the safe bet.
  21. I'd recommend trying some 124 grain loads. My M&Ps all showed a dramatic preference for 124 grain ammo.
  22. They only list SP-01 dovetail for rear sight only. I didn't look at sight sets.
