  1. No, the Stock II barrel is 1/4" shorter than the Limited barrel with the same diameter cone.
  2. I have a few guns I'm planning to send to H&M for Black Nitride, one with a loose racker, the other is tight. I'm wondering: will the coating be thick enough to tighten the loose one? and how much to I need to file the tight one before I send it off?
  3. You have to file the slide or the sight to fit, but it's not too bad. The Shadow cut is lower on the hammer side, but the standard cut is the same on both sides.
  4. How does changing categories help him beat EG? There's no handicapping system I'm not aware of is there?
  5. I could never get a consistent grip on the draw with Hogues
  6. I have no idea, in fact, I can't even remember where I got them.
  7. I hate to kill your dreams, but I don't think it's possible to get more than 14-15 in a 140mm small frame 40 mag. The tubes you have, plus the CZC long base pad, 10 coil spring/follower are the best you can do. With 8 shot arrays if you can't get 16, it's not much better than 10 so I suggest shooting L10 major for now.
  8. I prefer the swell of the factory rubber grips, they are a little boxy
  9. Here are the fattest I've seen: As you can see they need a little fitting. SP01 grips for comparison: Let me know if you'd like to try them.
  10. APPENDIX D4 —Production Division, 21.3: You may replace the slide with an OFM or aftermarket slide which is of the same length, contour and caliber as the original slide for that model of gun. I suspect you're considering manufacturing a CTS using a 75 SA frame and a TS slide. If this is the case, the 75 SA is not production legal. Even if you were to use a Production legal 75 Shadow frame, the TS slide would not be the same length and contour of the original for that model. The only way I could see you legally using a TS slide in production is if you put one on a Production legal CTS lower (but if you had a CTS lower I can't see why you wouldn't have a CTS upper).
  11. I don't own any Tanfoglios with the same uppers they came with
  12. I tried a 2011 spring in mine too after the Tanfo one died and it doesn't stack right, when I get around to it I'm going to ask Beven for a 13 coil Tanfo spring.
  13. are the inside dimensions the same as Hennings?
  14. Open1215 is working on 170mm base pads for factory tanfo tubes, hopefully he's getting close
  15. I have a 9mm big stick from Bill made from two Mecgar K9s which held 30 +1 using a Grams follower and ten coil spring, the spring wore out pretty quickly and now I've been messing around with it trying to get it to run reliably again. #openproblems
  16. http://highercapacity.us/ Bill will cut two tubes to length and weld them together
  17. This also gives you a chance to feel for crimped primer pockets, I keep this handy little reamer tool on the bench to the right of the press, grab crimped brass, ream it and put it right back pretty quickly.
  18. Correct, get the 6'' inch straight barrel from EAA. Cut it and thread it , thread is 15mm X 0.75 pitch. Get the 3 port Eric Grauffel Cone/Comp. Leave enough clearance between the comp and front of the slide so they don't make contact upon lock-up. One thing I always forget to tell people (I only remember today because I did it last night) is that you must also grind/mill off the lower corners of the barrel to get it inside the front of a Limited slide, some fitting of the breech might also be required, here's a picture:
  19. This one is 4oz lighter (2oz out of the frame and 2oz out of the slide):
  20. Here's a Limited with a factory three port comp I put together tonight: It's a little heavy as it sits, but I'm going to play around with it a little before removing any weight:
  21. Fast powder and a 123gr bullet will make your Open gun shoot like a Production gun with a dot, if you're going to shoot a gun with a comp you might as well use it!
  22. Are you sure about that five minutes?!? Reminds me of My Cousin Vinny https://youtu.be/h9AqbDtSFNU
  23. I recommend simply switching to lighter bullets with the same charge, a 95gr bullet will make that same load shoot dramatically softer and flatter. I suspect going from a 123gr to a 95gr will drop your load from 165pf to 130gr.
  24. 8.3gr of HS6 only made 164pf in my 9mm GT, but I've heard of guys making major with less
