  1. I don't have specific experience pushing Silhouette past its limits, but in general with the slower powders I've used you get over a hump where more powder results in less velocity. With my favorite (SP2) it occurs at ~9.7gr under a 115; you can also push it further with longer OALs. 10gr of SP2 made less velocity than 9.5gr.
  2. The primers look OK to me. Chrono results shouldn't change a significant amount from SPP to SRP.
  3. I had a similar eureka moment: I approach a stage with a 20 yard long shooting box and think "I've got a dot, so I'll just draw and shoot"; the 35 yard targets were Charlie/Mike and Delta/Mike! I went to the range and shot plated next to MG JHP at 25 yards, needless to say I haven't gone back
  4. Federal SPP are the softest available which is why Production shooters love them so much, Winchester and CCI are a little harder. Before you buy a boatload of plated bullets for Open try shooting them at 25 yards side by side with jacketed, that's when I made the switch Also, give 115s a try.
  5. If you buy a hundred for $7 I'm sure there are plenty of us who'd be happy to buy a handful
  6. I load with SPP: CCI, WIN, and FED 1.10" is pretty short, the longer you load, the less pressure you'll get a the same PF. I've found my stock CZ chambers can load as long as 1.170" with round nosed plated bullets. WAC is about the fastest powder I would use for 9 major, I usually use SP2 (similar to 3N38); since you're in Australia, you should have access to SP2 right? HS6 is my second favorite. Since I prefer 115s (I know the minimum bullet weight for IPSC Open major is 120 ) I've only ever chrono'd one WAC load with 124s: 7.3gr of WAC under a 124gr Xtreme plated RN @ 1.170" made 177pf through my 5.1" CZ barrel w/o holes. I've found these barrels to be significantly faster than my 2011 barrels: Schumann, KKM, and STI. Coated bullets should chrono faster and you should get more velocity at your shorter OAL, so I suspect your 6.2gr load might chrono ~160 PF.
  7. It does I'd love to use one in Ti for my next build

  10. These are pretty normal: I would advise caution if they start looking like these:
  11. You don't need to do extensive brass prep to shoot 9 major reliably. I use mixed range brass, dry tumble for 45 min and load, after loading I tumble again, chamber check each round in the barrel and place it in a plastic ammo box. I then run my finger over the head stamps and pull out the stepped brass (FM, INT and Ammoland) for use in practice. Since I adopted these steps my guns have run flawlessly.
  12. Fred, getting familiar with the components is more important than looking at primers. Like Foxbat said, if you're using one of the popular 9 major powders under a popular bullet weight you'll be fine. What are you currently loading?
  13. The 75B is pretty much the worst CZ has to offer, I strongly recommend an SP01 instead for the following reasons: -Extended beaver tail -Ambidextrous mag release/safeties compatible with the extended versions -checkering on the frame -rubber grips (far better than the cheesy plastic ones -longer curved trigger -better sights

  15. Easy Garmil, don't tell everyone!?!
  16. Next match try approaching the line with the attitude mikes and no shoots are unacceptable. Shoot the whole match clean and see what it does to your overall standing.

Short reset is in the disconnector of a DA/SA by the way.

Cajun Gun Works is the only one I know of making those parts for decocker guns. Is it worth it? That's up to you

    CZ sp-01

When I got my first Tactical Sport it came with buffers, so I put one in, I consequently wouldn't run reliability, I took it out and all was well. CZ75 pattern pistols have a slide stroke ~0.2" shorter than a 19/2011 and the buffer shortens the stroke by another ~0.1", so I think in an unmodified slide it's just too short a stroke to function. Recently I've tried a buffer in one of my Open guns which is stroked by 0.2" and it seemed to soften the recoil slightly. Eventually I'd like to try a sprinco in a stroked Open gun with a buffer.

  21. I have owned many CZs and just as many Tanfos, I prefer CZs for these reasons: importer support, parts support and a slightly better fire control parts design.
