Frankford Arsenal FX-10 progressive press
HOGRIDER replied to BiknSwans's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
I see a lot of posts on several support pages about reloaders battling with crimped primer pockets, especially when using the Ginex primers that "supposedly" have a thicker cup. IMO, this is going to be the future of worry free "swaging" without actually having to swage! https://vp-mfg.com/shop/complete-kits/ https://immortobot.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=72 VP-Mfg. is currently talking with Mark 7 about developing a unit for their press line; and hopefully it will transition down to FA for their FX-10! -

Definitely check your case slide for proper orientation of the case in the shellplate............ -
1050 spewing primers all over
HOGRIDER replied to waktasz's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
There is very little documentation on correctly orienting the tip of the primer magazine. Very easy to miss in the manual! Glad you figured it out! -
Not a lot to choose from................. https://www.sigsauer.com/parts.html?model=2860 Mines got the AC fully adjustable trigger that I'm fine with............for now...........

Been following TSAs recommendations for lubrication......... https://www.facebook.com/sigarmorer/videos/330628088119887 But in a sandy environment, would probably revert to a little light oil...........

Looking forward to your results!

You think the GS fit Barstow had anything to do with that improved lockup?

Totally agree!

Bullet Feeder 9mm 124 plated vs 147 jacketed
HOGRIDER replied to RangerTrace's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
@RangerTraceWhile repurposing the MBF to the Apex 10, I decided to give it a good cleaning and recheck all the adjustments. IMO, this early copy of the MBF user manual does a pretty good job of depicting the setup (with pics) of the nose guide and flip ramp: https://app.box.com/s/0tdxsgv1ygdh7ndcwkklqjpwxv0lsdjl HTHs...... -
Dillon 1100 Endoscope camera
HOGRIDER replied to Chapo's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
My adventures with the endoscope that worked perfectly! A quick glance at the bottom of each stroke during dwell, gave ME the piece of mind I was after. https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/285855-video-reloading-9mm-on-my-rl1100/?do=findComment&comment=3208836 https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/285855-video-reloading-9mm-on-my-rl1100/?do=findComment&comment=3208840 https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/285855-video-reloading-9mm-on-my-rl1100/?do=findComment&comment=3208844 https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/285855-video-reloading-9mm-on-my-rl1100/?do=findComment&comment=3210805 I found that a higher MP, non-auto focus camera gave a lag free picture. Bullet Feeder 9mm 124 plated vs 147 jacketed
HOGRIDER replied to RangerTrace's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
So far, no I haven't. Of course I haven't loaded a big array of different weight/shapes/styles; but of the JHPs and Blue Bullets in both weights I've loaded, the shims have not been touched! The numbered spacer behind the stock spacers along with the big flipper ramp has, so far with the bullets I'm using, eliminated any spacer shim adjustments. Pic from the BS site: -
Bullet Feeder 9mm 124 plated vs 147 jacketed
HOGRIDER replied to RangerTrace's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
@Boomstick303 About a year and a half ago, I was also having to play/adjust with the spacer shims that come stock with the MBF kit. Then I happen to notice this and though it might be worth a try: https://benstoegerproshop.com/mr-bulletfeeder-optimization-kit-by-primer-catchers/ The spacers and flip ramp actually worked great; and eliminated 99% of any adjustments I've had to make up top! A bit pricy as I didn't use the angle adjustment guides, but I have to say it definitely made a difference in my setup! -

Also loaded 147g Zero JHPs for a LONG time! Then switched to their 125JHPs; and now using the PD 124 JHPs.......... So far, I've not had to make any adjustments to the MBF for loading either. IMO, the shapes/ogives between the two weights is close enough to not warrant any changes. 124/125s are a bit shorter than 147s; but I don't think that factors into the operation of the bullet dropper. -
Fantastic! Glad to hear you stocked up on these! Ha! It'll be worth the wait...........

Looking for feedback on the Mark 7 Apex 10
HOGRIDER replied to d3ydx3's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
I'm also in agreement with the OP and @Josh Biondi. After loading with the RL1100 for a couple of years, I'm going with the Apex 10 as I truly want to utilize a 10 station press and I am willing to devote the time to "understand it well" also! I'll be using the Dillon powder measure to start off with as I have it working flawlessly; and just want to see if it works as well on the Apex10 as others have recommended! FWIW: During my first run of reloads after carefully setting up the RL1100, the primer system failed, broke parts I didn't have spares for, and had to wait almost a week for replacements. Also had a couple of parts missing from the box. These were minor issues, once I learned to "understand" the 1100's priming system and the frequent cleaning/maintenance it requires to confidently do single pass loading. Once I fully understand operating/maintaining the Apex10, then I'll automate it! Seeing others that are successfully using the various M7 presses gives me confidence I can also enjoy a 10 station press! -
@CuzBeen on the lookout for a BF sale on the AC P322 trigger...........at this point, it sure looks doubtful. May have to bite the bullet and get one anyway. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

As others have said, this WILL WORK! https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1012827841?pid=386755&utm_medium=email&utm_source=service&utm_campaign=shipping-confirmation&utm_content=product-shipped-today-product-description-link Also note that when using the Lee UDie's stock locking ring, it will have to be mounted on the bottom of the Dillon tool head. OR, much simpler to use a Dillon standard lock ring on top! https://www.amazon.com/Dillon-Precision-10669-Rings-Package/dp/B0160BSA4A/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Wonder if the forward underlug was able to be fit in order to take up some of that slide to frame "slack"? Looking forward to hearing your function/accuracy reports once the barrel is broke in!

@Boomstick303 Was your BarSto barrel a gunsmith fit or drop in?

Apex 10 and other Mark 7 goodies
HOGRIDER replied to Intheshaw1's topic in non-Dillon Reloading Equipment
After watching a video of a loaders Apex 10 running like a Swiss watch, I inquired as to his die(s) setup; particularly stations #2 - #5. His generous reply was: Wondering if anyone uses the Lee U-Die over the priming station? Thanks @Josh Biondi!!!!!! -
