  1. The first PCC I shot was a Scorpion. I like the gun but hated the trigger. There are mods for this but why not buy a JP?
  2. I was shooting 3 shot groups and then adjusting the sights. Shot several groups, all within 1".
  3. I agree with Eric. I don't have pics but my "Sight-In" groups @ 25 yds using Hornady 124 RN FMJ were sub 1" through my JP GMR13 using 3.5 Tite Group.
  4. I have not shot groups @ 100, my sight is a 8 moa C-More. I'm considering using the PCC in an upcoming 3-gun, I'll try moving my 1-4 Meopta off my AR and onto the GMR.
  5. My PCC load is a 124 gr FMJ RN over 3.5 TiteGroup. Out of my JP GMR13 with a 14-1/2" barrel it runs 1017 fps. With a 25 yd zero it drops 8" @ 100 yds. My first match was during the Winter and all stages were steel. One stage had you shooting at 5 steel IPSC targets off-hand @ 110, 100, & 90 yds. I was 14 for 15.
  6. I never shot steel with a .22 but I owned the .22 nine pin match at our local pin match using a S & W 41 with an Ultradot. Shot a friends S & W Victory with a trigger job and custom grips today on steel. A lot of gun for the money.
  7. I'm planning to install the Odin AR-15 button on my GMR13. It looks like the "right" way is to remove the JP release and drill and tap it off the gun. Looks like it pivots on a 1/8" roll pin. Is this correct. Any tricks to removing it? The "easy" way might be to drill and tap in place. Looks like the supplied 4-40 x 1/4" screws would need to be shortened. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
  8. I'm planning to shoot my first PCC USPSA match this weekend and noticed a lot of residue on the comp after today's practice. Gun is new and I haven't cleaned the comp previously. The residue knocked out cleanly using a punch and light hammer strike. It looks like Carbon to me but I would like other opinions. There's about 1000 rounds through the gun and all ammo was my reload, 124 gr Hornady FMJ RN over Tite Group. The base of the bullet is exposed lead.
  9. I just got this from the USPSA "Down Range" regarding their experience from the Optics National. http://www.multibriefs.com/briefs/uspsa/pcc-handling.pdf Makes sense to me.
  10. I got to practice with my new PCC outdoors for the first time yesterday. Tried some Bill Drills and ran the El Presidente several times. My splits were no where near some I've seen on video. What are you seeing?
  11. I'm using a Blade-Tech double mag pouch just forward of my hip on the left side, bullets facing forward. Used the same technique with my AR-15.
  12. The GMR-13 mag release certainly is slow for me. Does anyone know if the GMR-15 part fill fit?
  13. I looked at the buffer in my GMR-13 today. Looking at the pictures on the JP website, the matt finished (3) are tungsten and the shiney one is steel. I checked with a magnet and the steel seemed less magnetic, perhaps stainless. The spring was marked with red paint which doesn't match up with any in the assorted spring kit. I have only shot about 500 rounds but many double taps, dot movement does seem related to the buffer.
  14. In the early days of USPSA 3-Gun there was Open and Limited class. Open was pretty much run what you brung and Limited was Iron sights etc. The JP tank brake was very good ( I had one and occasionally got hung up moving out of a port) and common in Open and I believe it is still legal in that division. Limited kind of morphed into "Tactical Optic" and that was the origin of the 1 x 3 rule.
  15. It's not running speed, It's efficiency of movement. Know exactly where the targets are and the order you're going to shoot them that requires the least amount of movement. A big difference between you the the fast guys is in the number of "C"s. Learn what is an "acceptable" sight picture.
  16. My JP GMR-13 is relatively new but has run 100% with my reloads, Hornady 124 RN, WSP, 3.5 gr. Tite Group. Running stock Glock 17 round mags and Glock 33 round mags with Dawson pads (36 rounds). Need to drop to 35 rounds to reload on a closed bolt.
  17. I put a C-More on my new JP GMR13. I have a C-More on a 9 x 23 Race gun. I had an issue with the lens shooting loose @ 19,000 rounds. C-More fixed it and the gun now had 69,000 rounds on it.
  18. I joined USPSA in 1994 shooting a Colt Gold Cup. I then "Upgraded" to a comped 1911 .45. Bought an EGW Open race gun in 1996 and an EGW Limited gun in 1998. Shot both extensively until 2010 when I let my USPSA lapse and I concentrated on 3-gun. I recently bought a JP GMR-13 PCC and just renewed my USPSA membership. Can't wait.
  19. I found that I could not load 33 rounds into my JP with a closed bolt, 32 O.K., I just added Dawson base pads which gave me 36 rounds. I could not load 36 with a closed bolt but 35 O.K. I tried to clean my 33 round mags but my old double stack pistol brush/mop was a little wide and short. Can anyone recommend a good mag brush.
  20. I haven't used them is a match yet, but I have a Blade-Tech double mag carrier that seems secure with 33 round Glock mags.
  21. I would expect that all "Open" guns are shooting reloads. My "Open " steel load was a 115 gr. bullet @ 1135 fps (130 PF). Later I dropped to a 95 gr. bullet running 1235 fps (117 pf). My PCC load is a 124 gr. running 1017 fps (126 pf). A stock 9mm pistol shooting factory ammo can run 1145 fps (142 pf). As a former Steel League match director, I wouldn't worry about PCC.
