  1. Well ATF does consider it the firearm but the next day air rule is a UPS/FEDEX rule not an ATF rule. If its not a complete gun then it wouldnt fall under their next day rule. At least thats my interpretation of it.
  2. You as an individual will run into problems shipping a handgun. We all know its legal for you to send to an FFL holder and the ffl holder to return it but most the employees at the shipping companies dont know that. If you went to a shipping center like a ups store then you cannot ship a handgun from there. You have to go to a customer counter. The best way is to have your own account and do a label via the internet. You still have to ship a handgun next day air. One trick is to disassemble and ship in 2 different boxes by ground as merely parts.
  3. I have never shot a match out of the country. Whats involved with travel outside the US? I may want to shoot & do some traveling in the future. Where would you go and not go, safety wise. What pitfalls to look out for? I saw this match in France and found myself wishing I was there.
  4. Last time I flew I put the gun in a briefcase. Caught a little flak over the security of that brief case but they did put a marker on the case that it had already been inspected so it wouldnt be opened again without them calling for me first.
  5. Benny we have the same phone. We were some of the first to get these in our area. They shipped them to us and then we had to take them into a Cingular store for programming. The Cingular store had never seen one until then. We have had problems with them. They drop calls all the time. It seems to be worse since Cingular bought At&T wireless. We really dont know if its the phone or the service. WE have been with Cingular for around 17 years but we are considering Verizon.

    Finally! First win since 2003.
  7. My best performances come from this mindset. You have already done all of the hard work (practice) so enjoy yourself and rely on your subconscious skills to carry you thought when it comes to game time. I knew I did well, and figured I had won but was a little surprised at the final score! It really opened my eyes up to what just shooting and not trying will do for ya. I kind of got in that mind set at OH. I didn't even look at my times most of the time there and didn't really today. I was more excited when Ryan Bradley, Chuck's youngest son, C class open shooter, burned down stage 4 today in 13 seconds beating everybody on our squad even pops! Not as excited as he was when he found out he won that stage and beat everybody. I think he beat me even if they had my correct time ;-). He has got some real speed and talent. Just needs to find the consistency but that will come with experience. Its fun to watch him develop. He was pretty excited about winning a stage at Ohio as well. 8. Thats why they came out with the 773's. For years I had dropped the 771 even thinking they discontinued the 771 but with the resurgence of demand from customers I started carrying them again. I carry both now. Its a personal choice.

I hope they break the streak and get things turned around. It is tough for both the players and the coaching staff to get a program turned around. Keep us posted. Well it didnt go so good. A dropped interception, a dropped 4th down conversion and then a burnt defensive player that gave them a first down on a 4th & 15. We scored as many touch downs but didnt convert the extra points. We lost 30-26. Austin only had 9 tackles but considering they ran the plays to the opposite side it isnt to bad. The defensive end was not doing his job so the coach moved Austin from Middle Linebacker to Def. End. He had several tackles in the backfield for losses. Maybe tonight will be the night.
  10. One thing I forgot to end with. While fitness may be a factor it is a relatively small factor. There are many other things that will have a greater impact on performance.
  11. Simple. Increase the power to weight ratio One can be quite stable without having to gain Chuck's physique, though All other things being equal, across a large field course, the fitter man will win. That doesn't mean fitness is the only answer, but ignoring it as a piece of the puzzle involved in winning matches is a mistake, IMO... Dave, Back in the day I weighed in at about 300lbs. Because you are big does not mean you cant be fit or fast. Now given all things equal, including the same shooter, the more fit body will be faster. There is a balance thats the optimum , too light or trim and you loose muscle mass and stability. I agree it has to be in the equation depending on priority's and commitment. Back in 2000 Todd Jarret told me I needed to loose weight, get in shape and practice. I had spent the previous 5 years on shooting and building Shooters Connection. I missed allot of my kids lives during that time. I made a decision to make my kids my priority and backed off the shooting. Now we all do it for fun. The kicker is that the weight and fitness is also part of that priority as well. Dont know what else to say about that, there are things all of us know we need to do but never do. Maybe one day.
  12. I talked to Dave today. He said the colors will be here soon also. I will be getting Silver & Black in Monday or Tuesday. The SNL pad will not work on 170mm tubes. I know some will try it , I am just relaying what Dave told me.
  13. We talked with an Oakley Rep yesterday. Anybody who discounts off the MSRP gets yanked. So all dealers will have the same price. If you can deal with used ones from an individual you might save a little.
  14. I use the fire lense for sunny days and even bright overcast days. For darker days I use a clear mostly, sometimes a persimmon/amber type lense. We talked about this issue today.
  15. Steve, this was my favorite stage. It was the most fun. Well without really being negative, I mean it was a tough match and really tested your accuracy, it was one of the few, that I would consider FUN stages. Not to say the others werent good tests of skill. I just like a high FUN factor. Your stage still had an A zone only target, a partial no shoot target and 3 plates. It was a good test and really FUN. You are correct in your assessments. memorization will help you , in fact is required if you are to perform to the top of your ability. I think thats just part of your focus and intensity.
  16. Dave told me he has STI mags getting 21 in them with his follower. 20 reloadable. Mag bodies vary so he doesnt guarantee 21 in them all. You also have to put them in a gauge, again mag bodies will vary. He shipped a bunch today, dont know how many. I ordered 250. He did email me today and said I was getting the first black ones. I have red and blue ordered. This could be the hottest new item in a while.
  17. Is it a camera phone? That may be tricky.
  18. OK, sorry I asked. That is just wrong.
  19. Ahhhh, nothing like the dual clockwise, counter clockwise rotation Can you ad some pics of those? Or some video. This thread is worthless without pics & video!
  20. There still must be a problem somewhere. The USPSA web page doesnt even come up now. Guess its just coming & going. Maybe I will get lucky and get through sometime today. Jane , you arent alone.
  21. Are they having a problem posting the scores? I cant find them anywhere.
  22. Just wondering if anybody has come up with a way to mount the RL100 on the press so you dont have to fill the tubes. Just dump them in the hopper and keep loading. I saw a similar set up while I was looking for an automated machine on the internet yesterday.

Go BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!Kentucky Wildcats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No really Go Colonels!!!!!!! Bourbon County High!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Opening Night of High School Football. Austins Senior Year. Its his 4th year on the team and they are on a 33 game loosing streak. They should be able to break that tonight. They got a new coach last year that used to play for Denver and has a Super Bowl ring so its sparked some enthusiasm in the program. Its been a long 3 years for Austin but he's stuck with it. Hopefully it pays off this year.
  24. How can you say IPSC shooters are the safest? Have you participated in the other shooting sports? I have participated in IDPA for 10 years, and have never seen this type activity. We do not allow folks to participate with these type behaviors. I shoot Skeet & Sporting Clays regularly, and we would never allow this type behavior. There are many shooting groups who would never allow or agree with this type behavior, not just IPSC. Good on you for your organization's safety program, but to say they are the safest is assuming the rest is just not the same. NOT TRUE. Johnny Van Etta Because in my opinion they are the safest. I have been around allot of different types of shooting and from what I have seen IPSC is the safest. Doesnt mean there arent others that equal IPSC. Guess what I was thinking is if this guy had had any type of IPSC experience that most likely would not have happened. I am sorry I spurred the resentment toward IPSC that is common amongst IDPA shooters. I didnt mean for it to go that way since that is completely against this forums rules.
  25. I am for more gun control laws. Anybody caught doing what this guy did should loose their right to own guns forever. I almost agree with a mandated safety course before one buys or owns or shoots their first firearm. He came so close to killing his kid. I wonder if he comprehends that at all. IPSC shooters are the safest. We practice unload & show clear even during informal practice on our range. Even if we are alone shooting, its a process ingrained in our minds.
