  1. I load that length and get 20, 19 reloadable in .40 mags with Henning basepads and Grams followers + springs. Bullet is SNS 180gr TC no lube groove. Interestingly, I could do 1.2 with 10mm mags and chamber, but anything even slightly longer was a no go. Personally, I think loading long is not the best idea in the .40 Limited. I had some malfunctions during feeding in my experiments.
  2. Opinions differ, I suppose. OP was asking if a bolo might be warranted and I think it isn't necessary in a SAO gun. It is cheaper if you want to keep the stock trigger rather than get an aftermarket one. That's really the reason to get a bolo. I guess if I had investment in a part I'd want to see it succeed as well. I'd just be nicer about it is all.
  3. Sweet. Rock on. Bolo answers all problems.
  4. The Titan hammer is why the trigger pull weight dropped. You don't need an inturruptor in a SAO gun, and that's what the bolo is. It can be of a benefit because it can reduce pre travel, but a good trigger like the EGD or Henning can do the same thing. I would do that before using a bolo for a single action only gun.
  5. I'm currently experimenting with the new Unica progressive springs and shock buffs. I was about to hang up my Limited because the recoil was too much for me. Now, I think I have a very nice combo that keeps the muzzle flat. There are some limitations, which I have some notions of how to overcome, but right now I am excited to see what can be done. Is reccomend a light recoil spring because all my testing shows heavy springs lead to too much dip. I don't feel they reduce perceived recoil or rise much, either. The shock buff lessens rise, not the spring.
  6. For a trigger return slave pin, I cut down a small Allen wrench that came with one of the front sights. Cajun Gun Works also includes a tiny roll pin to use as a slave pin with their return springs. I used to use a q tip, but those can deform and cause trouble.
  7. Unpossible! Yeah I wouldn't use anything which has light strikes at a match I played money for. I'm sure anything can work, but I stopped a long time ago and settled on a pretty simple setup. I'm using a 13lb PD spring but so far I think I like the E.G. light a bit more. Not that it matters, because when I'm shooting I don't notice.
  8. I personally got tired of having to load short as well as have two Stock II's with different chambers. I'm going to try out PD's service as they have done good work for people I know.
  9. If you're asking me, I use Eric light and am trying the Patriot 13lb. I've never had a FP stuck in the breech face or retainer fall out because I use the Extreme FP. The Henning pins can get stuck.
  10. Never seen a FP block tested at anything other than an IDPA match.
  11. I've never replaced a FP spring. Not sure why you ever would, unless you're carrying the gun hammer down and afraid of an AD. My FP springs are cut way, way down and basically serve to keep the FP out of the breech face and presented to the hammer.
  12. Weights are essentially the same between the older and newer guns due to an increase in frame thickness as well as some reduction in the backstrap area. Combined with the newer shorter barrels my old and new Stock 2 weigh the same but the newer one is more nose-heavy.
  13. CZ has a nicer trigger with far less work. If that's what matters to you, get the CZ.
  14. I think the return springs that come with the flat trigger might be too weak. I used a cut down plunger spring and removed could until I got the right feel.
  15. The pin is legit and works.
  16. Steve Galka has cracked two guns and replaced them (EAA were not easy to get to do the right thing). It has been reported that thjs problem has been fixed. My source for that info was Henning. I've not seen any damage or need for replacement parts due to breakage other than the adjustable rear on a Stock 2 other than springs. I personally had an extractor now out die to a case rupture and that gun is going strong with a new extractor. In my opinion, Tanfos are quite durable.
  17. If I were you I'd just buy the SVI signatire grip for your 2011. Thry pretty much copied the Tanfo. No reason to go t ok Tango platform if you like the 2011.
  18. That's the one I felt up. It could use a tiny amount of stoning to clean up the S.A. That's it. I was amaze.
  19. Having fingered and disassembled a Shadow 2, I would buy one if I was just starting USPSA production. The level of quality and how nice they are right out of the box blow away anything from Tanfoglio. Yes, a tango is cheaper and can be made very nice. But, the Shadow 2 is so nice and requires just about nothing to be perfectly adequate. My hope is Massimo poos his pants over this gun and steps up his game.
  20. I'm amazed you didn't have a dud in 10o rounds. My experience with Tula/Wolf is that th they both had a crazy amount of complete failures to ever go off.
  21. For me it's the EG light setup, with the FP spring cut down until the hammer at rest pushes the FP flush. Not drop safe, not really, but since I never use the gun except after "make ready" I'm unconcerned. This setup works in both of my Stock 2s. I use CCI, Win, S&B, and Fiochi for practice. I'd prefer CCI, thencouragement Win, Fiochi, and last S&B. All are reliable but S&B in particular have the most failures or other problems. I credit my reliability to seating primers deeply, Xtreme FP, weak FP spring, Titan hammer, and reducing all friction points between hammer fall and primer hit. No Bolo, as that would reduce DA force. If due to brass variations a primer ends up high, a second strike resolves the problem. Inspection and Federal primers seem to suffice for match ammo.
  22. The grip screws from Shooting Sports Innovations have been the best out of what I've used but don't come in a pimp finish. Black only. The Eric ones are fine as well, but I like the larger bit size on the Shooting Sports ones.
  23. The newer competition frames have the skelotonized backstrap and a thicker dust cover area. The netrying effect at least on Stock 2s is no weight dinference when combined with the shortened barrel. I don't know on the Lim Pro and Stock 3s but I would assume weight differences are minimal.
  24. I am certain the plunger spring is reduced power. The disco and trigger bar may be modified.
