  1. This, I had issues with CBC and Aquilla and 147s muffin topping, not sure but I think the brass is harder and or thicker. Make sure your sizing die is doing its job have you plunked a resized case with no bullet?
  2. I thought it was common knowledge that steel pulls coated lead towards it.
  3. Mag release for sure, gen 4 release and my thumb don't see eye to eye, and might think about the front strap meeting up with a grinder.
  4. Need 1 more choice, like but dislike. I liked the fact that you had a place to shoot a stock gun, but on the other hand neat stuff to bling out a blaster. Still think those who are at the top of the leader board are going to stay at the top, even with a new trigger.
  5. Not a Sig, but I am at 3.4 grains and 1.135", making 135 power factor in a stock G34.
  6. For me it's just a game, I know a lot of people that have shot IDPA for a long time don't like a lot of the new rules, but I think if IDPA would sit on the book for a few years things will smooth out. PCC, I think IDPA looked at how fast the division took off in USPSA, and that the founded was making a PCC they had to add it. I do think it is funny that it's an 18 round game, unless you shoot PCC, but oh well live with it or build a carbine. That should be easy, that is one thing are group is good at.
  7. Why not! Cost, as clean, less powder (back to cost), for me accuracy has better then plated.
  8. I know nothing about the FN, but if you already shoot M&P the core would make the switch a lot smoother.
  9. Thanks for the input. I agree with not setting stages to strong points of the carbine. This is what worries me the most, we are a small club, and most of the shooters are very green to shooting in a match setting.
  10. Yep, 2017 was my first year shooting IDPA, a few of the folks at are club stop shooting anything but locals, they didn't like going to another club and getting PE's for doing the same thing the local shooters were able to do with no PE.
  11. Just curious how PCC has been going for any of you that are holding matches. My local club is getting ready for the first match of our season and we are looking forward to some PCC fun. Anything been problematic we need to be ready for, apart from basic rules and safety stuff. This will Be are first year with PCC other than a few side fun matches.
  12. 147gr Blue Bullet RN over 3.1 grains at 1.125" gets me at a 135 power factor in a bone stock Gen 4 34. That's doing the math for 147 even though the round nose blues average 150 grains, the 147 gr blue flat point lands in at 134 power factor.
  13. Go to the Dawson Precision web sight, he has a sight calculator you can punch in your numbers and it will give you the sight height needed.
  14. My first match was in 1999, after a 12 year lack of time and funding I was able to start again for 2017 and had a great time. I will say that the shooters are a lot faster than I recall, but I'm a little older too.
  15. Yes, the classifier is up on the web sight now.
  16. Our club is not making anyone join anything, and the bulk of the shooters at the IDPA matches are newer shooters the are just trying to learn how to shoot. I would say if 25 people show up at a match 10 or so are Idpa members, although the match directer dose encourage people to join.
  17. I think Twin Falls has a club also, Magic Valley Practical Shooters I think.
  18. Look to the Nampa rod and gun club to fill your uspsa needs, great uspsa club, they put on really a good match twice a month. Have fun!
  19. Welcome, like Sarge said the ported gun is better for non uspsa shooting. The 147 gr american eagle stuff has shot well out everything I've put it in.
  20. Thank you for you service! Just prepare yourself, it's a wee bit habit forming, have fun!
  21. I like to squad with at least a few shooter is the same class and division as I'm shooting to see if I'm shooting with in my class. I also like to have some in the squad above my level for schooling me, it's nice to watch some one better to see what I missed in stage planning. Most important for me is a squad the helps out to make the match go smooth, makes for a long day if only a few help keep the set up and scoring going.
  22. Ben Stoeger Pro shop, and shooters connection has the grams spring and follower kits.
