Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I run a 11.5 223, solid 2750 with 55gr plinking loads. Still supersonic @ 500 yards. Been quite happy with it. IF you are going suppressed nothing will make you smile as much as a 300 bo. As several have said, get both.
  2. And that's EXACTLY why they sold so few, they don't care what WE want. I didn't get this for a 3 gun optic. It is for an everyday, battery not required, do everything rifle optic. It could have been a great solution for a wide body of shooters and platforms, but keeping their head in the sand and failing to listen to the end users, has caused it to not be profitable. Leupolds fault, they can blame themselves.
  3. I swear Leupold is being run into the ground by military and bench shooters. By not offering what is actually useful to the action/tactical shooting people they are effectively killing there own ideas and income. The prism is one of the best 1x scopes I've ever used. I love mine EXCEPT the reticle. Addresses by design, my and thousands of others astigmatism, but severely lacks any thing more than the most basic reticle. Even the craptastic Chinese optics have better reticles than Leupold. Look ma' another dot with a circle, they even have a circle with a crosshair? WOW. As stated by Ken, a decent reticle would be the cats meow. I'd even double pay the custom shop, IF they would put together a reticle worth having in it. Leupold would do well to employ or get more feedback from some 3 gunners and more practical shooter types. Reticle choices were poor, marketing sucked, illumination needed addressed. But in all actuality, all of it fixable. Offer better reticles, a newer/better designed illumination, get them into some actual shooter hands for feed back.
  4. Yep, fat fingers. Makes breaking stuff easy. Hulk Smash.
  5. The 24" in camo is in stock, if you wanna paint of can live with the camo. The 24" in camo is in stock, if you wanna paint OR can live with the camo. <- better?
  6. Yep, other side. In the pic you can see where I blurred out some private info with photoshop, but it's non-legal stuff. That's why the opening is not even, the serial number side can't go any lower without destroying the serial number. NOT something I'm willing to do. Though I'm tempted to get ATF permission to move it. I just hate dealing with the ATF in general. Stoeger definitely could have put the serial number in a different spot. They actually have to put it in an extra fixture to stamp it, may as well stamp it out of the way for ALL of them.
  7. Well, got my Stoeger built today. I went with the 24" model, TTI lifter, Carbon Arms M3K tube, and did the load port job myself. I also cut a round channel into the trigger guard to funnel the loads better. I decided to skip the bolt release as I'm a lefty. Figured I'd post a pic of the milling with a little engraving for spice. I'm seriously thinking of dumping the stock spacers and simply using two plastic pins to locate the stock. The only straight spacer has a bunch of lift to it, and I would prefer a more neutral stock fit. I can easily fit my huge thumb in there with zero change of it biting me.
  8. What it means my FOS forum member is the Gen 4 Glocks neither fit my hand nor do I like the texture of the grip frame. Simple as that. I tried, really tried, to like the G41. Everything I wanted in a new 45, except it didn't fit my hands. So, I went and found a gen3 G21SF and built it the way I wanted. If they ever release a gen3 G41 I swear I will have the first one that hits my local gun shop. I tell people all the time, just because it's new does not mean it is actually better.
  9. Was interested until I noticed Gen4.
  10. I'd love to see a couple of the silencer mount brakes and a couple regular muzzle brakes added in. A Griffin taper mount brake, PWS FSC556, AAC brake, and a Surefire MB556.
  11. Absolutely amazing, you trash talk a Glock after your loads don't work. Your start load was under recommended, then you "hot" load was over a max load. Go with a solid recommend load, and try again. Never blame any gun for a "software" issue.
