  1. Nick hit the nail on the head, remember not everyone has 20 plus rounds to shoot a stage, and having targets that appear from different postions multiple times keeps stages friendly for all the lesser round capacity shooters. Memory stages that require half an hour to figure out what target to shoot first is way overboard and shame on the course designer for doing so! I don't mind memory stages, and usually do OK on them. If you as a course designer insist on having this type of stage, allow a little longer walk through and then put a speed shoot in behind it to "catch up" the match pace. If you keep having trouble with this type of stage, change over to Revolver, they will all be that way to a certain extent. HOPALONG Now shooting a "Square gun"
  2. Igor, I keephearing 2 cities for the Nationals, Tulsa Oklahoma(Revolver, Production, L-10, and S.S.) and Barry, Illinois (Limited and Open). The Tulsa match will be 2 or 3 weeks before the Barry match. This is just what I am hearing and is not official. Lucca, I think that is correct, but I will check for you. should not be a problem, get an annual membership if possible and go from there if you decide to stay with it. And Hopefully with a split venue Slots will be more available, Many shooters stayed home last year that wanted to go. HOPALONG
  3. 700 bucks would be a good deal considering the mags go with it. I sold mine with just the 2 factory 10 rounders, a good trigger job and about 30,000 rounds max through it for 500.00 the gun new runs in the 800 bucks range after taxes depending where you are it could be more. If it was mine, I would look at somewhere around 7 Ben Franklins. HOP That does 2 things: 1 a good price and it should move fairly quick. 2 the buyer could possibly be a new shooter looking to get into USPSA LTD division.
  4. TRP, Like you say, "We will see" That would really be a "Nationals" worth shooting though! On thing though, If there is 1000 shoters, and USPSA goes in the hole at Nationals, we as a club will really need to change things at HQ !!!!! HOP
  5. No different, Just shoot Accurately..........Fast and you will do good. And know where to aim on the target ahead of time. The Beginner, Newby, wet behind the ears, what ever you want to call it. Really I think I just got lucky. HOP
  6. Was just thinking........(Yes that can be dangerous) IF the Nationals are split venues again, there will be time for a formal SHOOTOFFS !!!! NOW let's Hope they offer enough slots so those who want to go can, unlike last year when the slots were taken with many still wanting to go. HOP
  7. Revoman, Welcome to the forums, we need all the help we can get!!!!!!!! Don't mind Carmoney, he is still young and has good eyes. HOPALONG
  8. Igor, Instead of Florida, wait until the USPSA Nationals and come then. You might have company, Spook, Richardo, and hopefully a few others from the states that for some reason or another did not shoot last year that normally do. I will miss the Florida Open myself, but I'm not that good and need to practice all year just to not embarrace myself at the Nationals. Hopefully see you there, Might have to check in on the German Nationals and tag along with Jerry if he goes. HOP
  9. Well, I can see right now that if I'm going to shoot Zookeepers sectional in March that something is going to need work. LIKE learn to shoot a NRA D-1 target vs. a USPSA Target. Well I guess 67th combined and 25th in limited isn't too bad for a 625 shooting Major is it? HOP
  10. Austin Mike, Yes out of my Revo (625 5 inch). I have used Rainier which is plated like the Zero's. I use 4.2 grn clays at 1.250 (factory) with the 230 Rainiers, good load and accurate enough for what we do. The precision Delta's are just as cheap and are as accurate as Montana Golds (which my guns like). I use the lead heads all year for practice and local club matches, unless a major is coming up and I have cleaned the gun recently.....You know how lead does no matter what kind of powder you use. When I can keep getting lead 230 grns for 29 bucks a thousand, yep! you bet I'm going to shoot them as much as possible. And I alsways load my .45 acp stuff to 1.250 (factory specs) so I can use it in any of my skinny guns too!!! Maybe I can make a trip down to the Lone star state, was born and raised in Floresville just south of San Antonio, (You know, John Connally country). Haven't been "Home" in quite a few years.
  11. Diezel, Welcome to the forums. As you will notice, Clays will be a very popular powder for .45 acp. My personal load for lead is 3.7 grns clays over a bullet made by a man in Shreveport LA(230grn) I shoot 4.3 grns over a Precision Delta 230 grn (this is a jacketed bullet) The Hornady XTP has been a good accurate bullet in my guns that I shoot it in, Definately worth trying. Good luck, and again welcome to the forums. HOPALONG
  12. Sharyn, You do vidieo almost as good as you shoot!!!!!!!!! Maybe you missed your calling, instead of being a nurse you should have been a shooting photo journalist!!!!! Thanks for the Vids, for us that wanted to be there but couldn't Maybe see you at Space City? HOPALONG
  13. infinity001, Also Welcome to the forums!!!! And yes your written English is quite good. HOPALONG

  16. Flex, Alden, If you and your father had showed up at our range in north Mississippi, not only would you have had the time of your life, we would have had it with you. I'm sorry this happened, good luck now that you have it straightend out. Have fun, Be safe. HOPALONG BTW. Just north of you in CA is a guy named Dan Carden, he shoots wheelguns pretty good......almost as good as I do. I told him about you and your father shooting wheels and that he needs to contact you. His BE.com member name is D. Carden you can find it in the Revolver forums. E-mail or PM him, even though he is from California he's a pretty good guy
  17. Flex, I think your green print is "stupid"....... It surely needs to be red, blue, pink or maybe even ORANGE !!!!!!! MR. Clean Yes, I know you are only doing your Administrative duties !!!!! But I'm having fun with them. [ Kilroy was here]
  18. Travis, Area-6........First weekend in May. Atlanta, Georgia HOP
  19. I attended last year, great match.....I really recomend it. But......... I will have to skip this year. HOPALONG
  20. Thanks guys/gals !!!!! Bill, that is pretty well on the spot of what it has come down to for now. This is Deer season from now until mid January, I really enjoy that and don't HAVE to get one to enjoy it. So the only thing that will most likely be going bang is the 41 mag I use to deer hunt with. (Another revolver........Who would have ever guessed?) When I get back into it I now have a nice Benny Blaster to play with, and a new to me 25-2 to see if it wants to play with the rest of the bunch. Have a good winter break, for those of you who take one. See ya'll at A-6 in May! (first weekend in May) HOPALONG Dave, save one for me.....I'll be up in March if all goes well. I've never had the Chinese chicken to munch on. (i live kind of a sheltered life)
  21. Mike, On the date for the SRC..... I keep hearing September for the USPSA Nationals. So I am tenatively going to try mid OCTOBER and hope the Nashville bunch is interested as the TN sectional will be in Memphis most likely September. Plus more responses for the Nashville area (seems like airfare is cheaper to Nashville than Memphis). HOP
  22. Dammit Mike !!!! I'm trying to cut back on Road trips next year, and you go off and do this. As hard as I have tried to get more interest for the last 2 years in Revos do you actually think I can skip something like this? Get a date.....NOT JULY or AUGUST please, I shoot in the dog days of summer but not because I like it. HOP
  23. Tekno, Go to the Revolver forums, Much information there. What I have heard about the 325 is it is so light it is uncomfortable to shoot. Hope that helps, good luck. I recomend the 625 or a nice 25-2. SAM
  24. Is there a division for Bald, ugly, slow, blind Tennesee residents? If so, I might have to bribe somebody into going to the match. What does ICORE stand for any way? I........I C.......Can't O........Operate R........Revolvers E........effectively That is my story and I am sticking to it!!!!!! HOP
  25. The biggest thing I have always kept hearing from "up top" was that revolver division does not have enough participation. So I and others suggest informally to expand Revolver divison to: Open and Limited in the past it was shot down as quick as it was mentioned. So Similar to Alex and Bruces Ideas. Mine would be. Open: any wheel gun do what you what to it. Limited: any wheel gun up to and including 8 shooters.....modifications ect to follow the same rules as in the book now.( pretty much no ports, no optics) 6 shooters: As the book states now and what we are using in USPSA now. If a person decided to go to IPSC world shoot or any other IPSC sanctioned match then they will know ahead of time that they will have to shoot the 6 shooter and make the higher power factor rule. Keep up the good ideas, as you know most USPSA BOD members check this Fine forum for input and ideas. HOP
