  1. LaRue make their mounts WITHOUT the QD and they are $50 less than the QD mounts. Check them out.
  2. I had a batch with a few squibs, quite a few real light charges like bunny f#$t rounds. The problem was the lubing the cases and the lube contaminating the powder. Was using Iosso case lube since I didn't need to clean the rounds after loading. I just tried loading without any lube and the problem went away. I was loading 9mm on a SQB.
  3. I finally looked at and handled a Beretta 1301 yesterday. Everything is already done to it except for the tube for any shooter but the real pros. Beretta own Benelli so I'm sure the quality is there. The one I handled was a 21'' barrel, if it was a 24'' I would have bought it on the spot.
  4. I had the same problem shooting low, read Dave Dawson's article on his website (Dawson Precision). I followed what Dave said installed a .100 wide and .020 shorter front site. Worked out for me.
  5. Thanks, didn't think about Midway. I ordered 10 of them.
  6. Who has mag springs for M&P's in stock? Caught Smith when they are closed for 2 weeks.
  7. I run B & P's in my SLP, real accurate, took a little work to get them to run consistently.
  8. GeorgeD gave you a perfect fix, trick out a Versamax Sportsman you can add extra features as money allows you to. I was on Gunbroker this morning saw 3-4 Sportsman's for around $800. I think the two best barrel lengths for 3 gun is 24" ribbed followed by 26" ribbed barrel. If I was starting over again and was on a budget I'd go with a Sportsman.
  9. I lean towards the Trijicon TR24, either green triangle or green #4 German
  10. The 922R only really applies to manufacturers and dealers. Once you buy it you can add tubes etc as long as you don't get involved with NFA stuff like under 18'' etc.
  11. I ordered 4000 last night. I still have around 2000 on hand so was ready for the 12-16 week delivery. Sure beat the pants off of Montana Gold with their rush to the website every 5 minutes to see if any are available.
  12. Flatland has it right. I just hold the upper securely and put up a small or large paper plate depending upon distance. Line the bore up and adjust your scope. 99% of the time you can hit a 8" sight in target at 100 yards, but at least you are on paper.
  13. I have the big Hornaday. I clean both my brass and parts in it, just change the chemical/water. With Texas hard water distilled is the way to go. I use Hornaday chemicals too.
  14. Yes welded lifter was installed last fall . I will also check the extension and follower for that ridge. I did remove it before for cleaning but I clean it after every match, then I practice and clean it before the next match. Thanks for the help. Welded lifters require tuning to get them running right. Most of the time it is VERY little things that for the average shooter are hard to see. You need a Superman like Benny to get them right without a bunch of fooling around getting no where.
  15. Did you install a welded lifter?
  16. Stan How is the eye box at 4-6X? That is where I find most scopes very sensitive to eye relief.
  17. How is the eye relief? I checked out a Vortex 1-6 and was amazed how forgiving the eye box is.
  18. I was going to order a case or two. of 9's. The website ordering is down for maintenance for the last month, voice mail is full, sent e mail, no reply, sent fax no reply. How did you guys order anything from Montana Gold?
  19. Figure out where you like your cheek weld to be in relation to the scope sight box. Larue has quite a collection of scope mounts and most you can change the rings on.
  20. Most lifter springs just get weak, I change mine twice a year. The tip of the lifter needs to be tweaked to help it feed, I added a very slight fork back into mine. Also helps to open your loading port.
  21. Comp-Tech is doing a 13% off sale today. Coupon code SHOT-01
  22. I have the same set up, but with the Nordic spring. I think mine came out to 12-13'' longer than the tube. It runs great, I was having feeding problems before I changed the spring/follower and added the +1 cap.
  23. Buy a A2 stock lower add a JP or Geissele trigger. Get a flat top upper add a Carbon Arms or Nordic barrel. Finish with a Troy or Clark forearm, then pick the break you like. You can easily stay under $1500. Two most important items on an AR, barrel and trigger.
  24. You could have mis-machined upper, barrel, barrel extension crooked, front sight post crooked. Most common problem with U.S. built uppers is the front sight base not pinned on correctly having a slight cant.
