  1. Looks just like the Remington dummy I got from Brownells. Even the box except for the label covering it.
  2. You shooting 3 gun? I'd get the Safariland ALS or GLS.
  3. Phoenix Trinity. They have a Facebook page with some photos and there are a lot of photos of their grips on Lone Star Innovations builds in the vendor section. I have a build in progress by Glenn at LSI using their aluminum grip with the aggressive texture. Thanks, I've heard of them.
  4. OK, who is PT, Google doesn't work when searching for PT.
  5. The target needs to be resetting at 50 yds. If not it is a long walk to reset the target and slows down a match.
  6. Congratulations on that handsome devil.
  7. It's not selfish , Jeremy will go the extra mile for you to get what you need.
  8. What are the consequences of not cleaning off the lube for either pistol or rifle brass? Thanks for the replies, not stupid, just ignorant! Cmax It depends on the lube. I use Hornaday One shot on pistol and don't clean after. Other lubes were sticky and I'd hit those with brake clean. Rifle I use either Dillon or Frankford and clean after sizing/triming. I them prime them and store the primed brass untill I need to run off a batch of ammo.
  9. I've made all the local matches (except the last one, I was sick) at Copperhead. Thomas and Craig run a very good match. They are hammers down at 9 AM. Each stage is set up the day before (except cardboard targets) and the have a fixed R.O. for every stage. We are usually done between Noon and 1 PM. Best part Craig and Thomas listen to the shooters so every match is better than the last. The clubhouse at Copperhead is first class, if you never shoot there you need to see the clubhouse. I'm glad I live only 30 minutes away, makes for a fun day shooting.
  10. I had a LDA 5" 14 rd pistol. Piece of crap, one of the worst triggers I have ever shot. I've had that gun another Para pistol and the AR they sold. Everyone I sold they were all really hunky compared to everything else I owned.
  11. Marauder Is basically a refinished Eagle with some add ons. I bought a Dawson CRP Eagle instead, saving $500 and getting the front sight I really like. The Dawson ICE magwell is a bit better than the STI magwell and Dave installs his mag catch. The trigger is very good out of the box, but if you like a different style trigger you can change it out. So far I have had no problems with the STI 140 mags, fortunately if I do Dave's place is a short drive away for bases and other parts.
  12. Copperhead has a pretty big RV area in the off road area. Should have water and power hookups plus bathrooms. The range is pretty big, so you need to drive between stages. There are quite a few hotels in Cedar Park. La Quinta, new Motel 6, Holiday Inn Express. They are on 1431 a straight shot up to Copperhead. Marble Falls has quite a few hotels too.
  13. The range is a old cattle ranch. It is pretty big only way to get around is to drive. The roads are not bad so a regular car can make it. The range has quite a few bays I think around 10 normal type bays, maybe more. Then the long distance rang goes to I think 1000 yards with a small back stop even 100 yds. There are also some open area to set up stages and jungle runs. ETTS and Copperhead are my two favorite places to shoot 3 gun. I just wish it was closer it's a 2 1/2 hour drive for me. I wish I could make the match, but I hope all of you shooting it have a lota fun.
  14. I used to envy the people who had numbness. When mine would flare up, I had hot shooting pains that felt like they raidiated out both middle fingers. The really fun ones was when it felt like somebody was standing on my fingers (crushing pain). I know how you feel, my hands feel like they've been slammed in a car door.
  15. I'm not excited about prize tables. Look at the stuff people sell here that they don't need that they won on a prize table. This is where IDPA has their act together, the raffle off the prizes so even the back of the pack shooters have a chance. It's the back of the pack shooters that make up most of the shooters at a match AND buy most of the equipment. The equipment manufacturers would loose about 2/3's of their sales if those that aren't the top tier shooters dropped the sport and went off and did something else. 3 day matches of 10-12 stages that go from 8 in the morning to 7 at night just gets to be too long sitting around for hours doing nothing. Most of the reason for this is poor stage planning and poorly trained S.O.'s. I feel if I plan a stage it should be well enough written out that if I was not able to be asked a single question a good, experienced S.O. could figure out how to set it up without ant input. This goes for par times, if over half the average shooters time out (this is without a gun going down or other malfunction) the stages are too complicated or the par time too short. This is especially true when most of the real good shooter's time are within 10-15 seconds of the par time.
  16. This should even be a question. Buy a STI. I have 2 STI's and they shoot great. I've had 2 Para's plus the AR they made. Sold all of them the quality just was not there. Not counting what STI does for the sport. Between guns on prize table to being the sponsor of the Texas Mulitigun Match this weekend. It also helps they are neighbors.
  17. What gets me id all the black powder substitutes are available as is the 50 BG powder. But the stuff everyone buys is none existent. I wish someone would start a new powder company even if only a few popular types of powder. If someone made it available even if limiting a person to say 4-8 lbs at a time, would you go back to Hodgen etc if they get their act together?
  18. My 2.8 plates arrived today. The quality is great and you can load L2 and quads with them. Best of both worlds!
  19. I have a WRS coming, if not by next week I'll run up to Dawson and get a DOH Blade-Tech he has in stock.
  20. I got a WRS from Shooter's Source, had them in stock. When Serpa's were the only game for retension holsters they were out. My carry holsters are either a Safariland ALS or an Aliengear. I never had a problem with my Bladetech for 3 gun, fit the XDm like a glove, nice snap retention, but not too hard to draw. Two matches ago DQ two guys for dropping the XDm's from the factory supplied holster as they were running.
  21. Looking for a DOH holster for my Eagle. Currently have a Bladetech for my XDM. I like the rigidness of the Safariland holsters,(the website leaves things a bit confusing) if not might get a Comptac Internationl.
  22. For the price of the Marauder, I could get an Edge from Brazos hard chromed, with a real good trigger and made sure it runs.
  23. Which is a better Pistol for 3 gun? Will be 9mm, was going to get one with the Dawson CRP package then do the trigger. Thanks The Donald
