    My 610s

Sorry for the lousy pics, I took them with my phone camera. The kids keep leaving the digital camera on and draining the batts. I like the contour of the full lug Smith barrels, So the holes and inlays I thought might be a nice way to take some weight off. the work took about 3 hours ( I am not a machinest ), A very good friend of mine owns a bridgeport and he let me go to town. Thanks Paul The total weight loss is about 1 1/2 oz off the end of the barre. I might try to take a little more off, But i'm going to shoot it as is for now. Bubber, Now that you mention it, It does look like a Buick, Ha!

    My 610s

here are my 610s. Just felt I had to show them off.
  3. now you can send it out for rent.
  4. The primers are loud (like a cap pistol on steroids) but the real problem with that is the primers back out of the primer pockets and make cycling difficult. When the case is loaded (powder, bullet, etc.) the ignition of the powder forces the case back onto the primer, and thus the primer is seated back into the pocket. Bubber; What I do so primers don't back out is, Take an empty case, deprime it and stick it in your vise and drill the primer flash hole out. use a bit a couple thousands over what the flash hole is. This leaves room for the gases to get out instead of underneath the primer. NOTE: do not go too big with your drill bit. Too big of a hole will result in the primer anvil to be pushed through the hole, which will result in a false test.
  5. I had one of the 625PC s in 4". I will say it was a wonderfull Revolver. But in my opinion, I think you should go with a box stock 625 5", do a couple of mods to it and be done. As a good friend of mine said "if the PC s and JM s are so good, why doesnt the great one him self ( Jerry M ) shoot one" Just my 2 cents
  6. I had the same happen to my PC625, The culpret was the cylinder stop. I had it changed out and had not had a problem since.
  7. Not bad dude, work on them reloads, now the real question....what was your score 7.50 sec 1st shot 1.56 Reload 2.69 4 pts down 7.4666 HF = 76.802 % 7.38 sec 1st shot 1.57 reload 2.79 5 pts down 7.4525 HF = 76.658% 7.42 sec 1st shot 146 reload 2.62 1 point down 7.9514 HF = 81.791% 7.32 sec 1st shot 1.55 reload 2.42 8 pts down 7.1038 HF = 73.067% all calculated by th Ohio classifier tool now why cant I do this at a real match!!

    Moon Clips

Round Gun shooter said it in e mail " I'll buy one and rent it out @ $5 a wack!
  11. Very nice Pete, Now you just have to learn how to shoot it!! Are you going to Bass River this week end?
  12. KOOL!! Thats kinda what I thought but wanted to get another opinion.
  13. This is funny, I was thinking about this same subject. I shoot in Revolver Div. right now my main gun is a 5" 610, My back up is a 5" 625. In my eyes I do not see any advantage. Does any one see one. Now, lets say my back up was a 4" 625. Is there an advantage? The reason I ask is, I love to shoot the 610 but really do not want to spend the money on a back up. I do have 2 625s. 5" and 4". or, does any one out there want to make a deal for a 610?
  14. Looks like I will be in attendance for this one. I am pretty sure 10mmDave will be with.
  15. Mikey, dont forget to polish the pin (fat part ) and firing pin channel. BTW: dont dry fire with an extended FP. it will hit the cylinder and bad things will happen.

    Moon Clips

I am talking mostly about 38/357 clips, But the 40/10mm clips need a little attention as well. Th 45 clips do not seem to bend as easy as the others. I too take the pliers to them. Very teadiouse ( spelling ) Just wondering if any of you had a real brain storm and come up with somthing that works.
  17. How do you guys straighten your moon clips? It would really kill me to spend $80+ on one of those do hickys that TK sells. Pics if you have somthing home made PLEASE. Thanks Guys, you are all a wealth of info.
  18. Use it to polish out the firing pin channel, use it to polish the firing pin. ( put the pin in the Dremel, Put a little rouge on a cloth, turn the dremel on and apply the cloth ) polish the inners of the revo polish the rebound slide
  19. hdgun, I'll let you try it, I even have another 6.5 inch barrel to cut up biggrin.gif OH...hdgun, I have 180, 200 and 220 Westcoast plated bullets for us to try. Goody,Goody!!!!!!
  20. Now, Has any one done a moon clip conversion with a Dremel. I have!! I have!! Beat that one Mike
  21. I think Mike is correct in every thing he mentioned. My friends, PMD, 10MMDave and my self use the 617. I use mine exclusivlly. Matter of fact I just picked up a second one, now I have a stock and an open. Any way, In my open one, I bobbed the hammer, took 10K off the main spring screw, used a 14lb return spring with 3 coils cut off, and used an extended firing pin ( modified ) I polished the bejesus out of it and squared off the tip. also polished the channel where the firing pin resides. With these mods, I still have about an 8lb trigger, But it is much smoother than before. I get 99% firing with CCI Blazer ammo. this week I will do all the same mods to my new 617.
  22. I do agree the 625 is a little easier to speed load, But with a little practice and the right shaped bullet you would be good to go. I am working on this as we speak, I just got a 610 a few weeks ago, I am having alot of fun learning this new toy. BTW I do have 2 625s. 4" and 5"
  23. Looks good dave, Not bad for an old blind guy I want to shoot it when it done.
  24. Jim built my open Caspian in 9 major. I sent him a box of parts and a list of things to do. Well 3 weeks later I get the gun back from him all done. Test fired with the empy cases included. I will not tell you what he charged me but I will say he is going to do my next one as well. Jim is a real nice guy to talk with. I would recomend his work all day long. By the way Doug, Nice peice!!
  25. Has any one shot this with a revo? I'm thinking ( I'm right handed ) T4,T3 right side T1 reload T2 move to box B take steel from right side. OR, would you do a reload between T3,4 and T1,2 and reload for box B I will be shooting Revo again this year, triing to get opinions on how to shoot aficiantlly (spelling)
