  1. A drop of BLUE lock tight will take care of the ejection rod. I have a tool that clamps around the rod so you can tighten it pretty good by hand and it never comes loose. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/Pro...RACTOR+ROD+TOOL
  2. The scope alone is probably half the cost
  3. Paul, can't add too much more than that. All bases should be covered. You got good avise from from some real good shooters.
  4. 1-16 OK 17-shoot what you brought the end
  5. I don't think we are looking for categories, but looking to open Revo div to point were you can do what you want to your gun and still be legal. IE: barrels, either replacment or modified, cylinder work ect.. with the obviouse restrictions, 6 round only, no dots, no comps. In turn IMHO will open this class to people who have there old PPC guns in the safe gathering dust to come on out and play. I think with a little rewording of the current rules will satisfy just about any gun you have lying around. If it doesnt increase the amount of revo shooters it will open things up for shooters like my self, who want to experiment. And yes, I am a little bios!
  6. Gary, According to the vote, it is nearly a 3.5 to 1 consensus that we want to mimmick limited division with the exception that we want to make sure that you only shoot six and reload, no dots or compensators. We (the vast majority) really don't seem to care what you do to the damn thing (trigger jobs, chamferring, sights, titanium cylinders, lightening or grip mods). I emailed this link to John Amidon, but haven't received a reply as of yet. If you are willing to champion this for us, I am sure that we would all be VERY grateful. We are just now beginning to experience a following in revo division, and are starting to see good turnouts at the major matches (particularly at the various sectionals, Area matches, and the upcoming Summer Blast and Nationals). It would be a good thing to be a bit pre-emptive, and head off any of the bickering that we see sometimes in production, as it would probably kill the REVOlution we are currently experiencing. I think sending a strong message that we want a LIMITED REVOLVER division, and NOT a Production Revolver division to the head honchos at NROI is something that needs to be done. Others please feel free to chime in if you have additional input. DVC, Jeff ++1

    Need Help!

Tried the Unique today. 5.7grs under 158 berry (.357") gave me on average 950fps from a 5' revo. The key here is THEY DID NOT STICK in the cylinder. Which is what was happening with the other powders I was using. I guess I am on the right track.

    Need Help!

My next step is to try the Unique. I am making up some loads to try out tonight.
  9. Thanks Guys, It was a pleasure to shoot with both of you. Will be seeing you at the SummerBlast.
  10. Thanks every one. It was a great match. the ROs were pleasant and things ran real well. Hats off to the Rodchester club for putting on yet another first class match. Gary, #9 Bring out the gimp. I shot left low port reload, right low port reload, up to the wall right side PP2, T6 T5 reload, left side PP1, T3, T4

    Need Help!

It's not the problem making major. It's the problem I am having with ejection in a Revo. I have made major with 5grs of TG with a 158 berry.
  12. Maybe I should sell my 5" 610!! Naa, maybe not.

    Need Help!

XRe,, I am using starline, they fit better in the moon clip. Winchester is way too tight. 9x21,, what day are you shooting? i am on for Sunday morning.
  14. I come to the masses for guidance and wisdom. I have a custom 686 built by TK Custom, it is chambered for 9x23. I am trying to devolope a major PF load using 9x21. The problem is at Major PF the cases swell soo bad I can not eject them. The twist to this is, if I use major 9x19, there is no problem. They eject fine. I know what some of you are saying, just use the 9x19. But I am head strong on using the 9x21. so far i have used HS-6 with 124s, These swell real bad 158 berry with TG these also stick real bad. in short I am going with heavy bullet and fast powder and light bullet with slow powder. any hints to whats up would be greatlly appreciated.
  15. ANY THING BETWEEN 3.8 AND 4.0 WILL GET YOU ABOUT 135pf USING THE 124. Sorry cap lock was on!! I use factory length and crimp is just enough to take the bell out of the case.
  16. IMHO, I think revolver div is, might, be at a turning point. Like all the other divitions, they evolved from the very basic single stack 7-8 round mags to what we shoot today. Over time the open gun went from iron sights and a 1or 2 port comp to a dot and 29 round mags. Same said for the limited div. Evolution, things change. Maybe its time for the revolver to start its change.
  17. I voted Limited, Let people do what they want with the exception of dots and comps. We as Revo shooters know, it wont change anything. 6 rounds and reload. Its that simple. can any one out there give an example of a mod that would turn the tides. I can't.
  18. Well i guess I will be the first, since I am the fool who started it to begin with. I personally think it should resemble Limited. not because of the mess I got my self into. But it would leave less for interpritation. I mean face it, how much can you do to a revolver that will give a competetive advantage. A revolver is pretty basic to begin with, with the mods that shooters do to them now IE: trigger job, hammer bobbing, champher cylinder, grips, ect. those are the only mods that really make a differance. And for the most part, we do all of them now. Anything beyond those mentioned IMHO dont mean squat. Like I had said in a previouse post, 6 rounds, reload, 6, rounds, reload, ECT, ECT Revolver shooting, again IMHO is more the shooter than the gun.
  19. I am on the prepaid list, I have not heard anything thus far. I ordered mine from CED directly. That was mid April.
  20. Well Greg, The whole intent for this was to find out. Better know now than show up at a Major match and then find out. This is why the question was raised to John A. On the other hand, I think Round Gun Shooter said, basicly, don't ask, don't tell. Things might have been better if left alone but, If I am going to play the game, I'm gonna play it right. BTW: all holes are filled. Stainless rod from the hardware store fit the bill.
  21. After reading the posts given, It looks like things are not as clear as we would like them to be. Opinions, some strong fast and other with question. The world may never know.
  22. First, I just want to say sorry for bringing this up. My main goal here was to let people know that mods done to a barrel are not legal. ( my fault, and mine only ) I have seen some posts from people saying they wanted to cut the under lugs clean off. This was mainly for them. I read the rules before I took my barrel to the mill. The way I read them ( Interpretation ) I was not beyond the rules. I thought what I had done was OK, I had kept the barrel length, I had kept the same profile of the barrel. When all said and done it is still heavier than my 5" 610. I am not a gammer by any means. The reason I did the mods was just to give the gun a little better balance and throw a little cool factor in. To chop the barrel to 5" and have an SDM sight base and sight is pricey. I was looking to save a buck and get the same results. So, if I had a shorter barrel put on, it would give me the same result. ( which is legal to do ) To replace the barrel with a stock 5" is almost impossible. ( non to be had ) I did not do this to get any kind of advantage. I shoot revo div because for the most part it is simple, 6 rounds at a time. I don't give a flying S**T what kind of gun it is. You still have to pull the trigger and reload. As far as putting the gun back to original state, I Plan on plugging the holes with Stainless Steel so to get the weight back. 1 whole oz. In the end, Nothing has changed, This gun did not change any abillity I have as a shooter. I will shoot it or any other Revo I have the same way. I love this sport and the people. They take their time to put matches together so we can have fun. I do this as a hobby and a stess release. I spend more $$ than I care to mention. ( like Most ) The last thing I wanted to do is create a pissing contest. This is a game.
