  1. 6.5" 610,, 4.7 TG with Berry 180 FP OAL 1.200". 169 at last Area match
  2. You could try to use a .285 or .300 tall front sight pending what you have now.
  3. try 7.2 unique with a 158 in a 38 special case. use your OAL it should be about 168-170 PF
  4. AS the current rules you do not need to use .357 bullet or brass. You can use 38 special cases with no problem to get to major. 7.2 grns of Unique with a 158grn bullet will get you there. There is no bullet weight or caliber minimum. the only minimum is case length which is 9x19 I would always shoot major when possible, shooting minor just gives up too many points. as far as moon clips go, there are a few different choices there. The only place I can think of to get clips for your 27 is moonclips.com. I do not think Heartco ( spelling ) has them. Pending on the clip you get will depend on the brass you use IE: remington, federal,R-P. Some fit real loose in the clip and others might be tight. You would have to play around to find the right combo. All though you have a great gun in your hands, it might not be the first choice for most Revo shooters. The 27 N frame cylinder charge holes are pretty far apart thus making reloads a little tricky. Plus you would have to have the cylinder machined for the moon clips. Most Revo shooters here would agree that the 625 makes the best choice. the clips are nice and thick and sturdy where as the clips for the 38s are thin and flimsy. Not to mention 625 clips are about .25 cents + or - . the clips for the 27 are about $3.00 each. The 625 is real easy to speed load too, the charge holes are close together and BIG. On the other hand you have the guys that go off the beaten path and shoot 610s and like my self 686s. good luck with your choices. I currently shoot a 686 converted to 38 super and have no problem making major.
  5. Win works for me in the moons. tight but not too tight
  6. Thanks to all, I ordered some to see how they work. If not in the glock they should work in my Caspian.
  7. Thanks Jimmy, never noticed the FAQ s part on the web site. But would still like to hear from actual people using them.
  8. really did not know if I should post here or on the Glock page. I tried a search but started getting dizzy after the the 6th page. Just wanted to know if there is a reason for concern if using Precision bullets with a factory Glock barrel. Thanks in advance, John
  9. ALWAZS, I was on your squad and saw the whole thing go down. I know when you get a stage plan in your head and some things goes wrong the mind just can't keep up, we as shooters or at least i never have a plan B. I felt bad that you got the DQ, I have been there once or twice. But, I will say this much, You Sir are a Class Act. Here is a man that gets the boot and stays to help with target pasting and helping with what ever he could. My hat is off to you
  10. Does it use 2 extractors like an Omega?
  11. Before you do anything to the 4" look at this It was a 4" Miculek 625. Now has 6" barrel, dove tail fiberoptic front sight, LPA rear sight, Apex hammer, .400 wide serrated trigger, chamfered cylinder, cylinder reamed to SAMI specs, smooth light pull. It will be going up for sale soon and I will be looking for a 4". I have about $1000 into this including the price of the original gun. 4" barrel will go with it too. Hey Gary, I have 4" with a spare 5" barrel ( not fitted ) Let me know, Thanks, John

  13. I did it, but I used a 9x21 reamer, only cause I had boat loads of brass. But it works well with 9x19 as well. I have a 686 that was done by TK custom years ago and works with 38 super, 9x23, 9x21, 9mm and will still shoot 38 special, but the brass will bulge some thing awful and the brass will be junk.
  14. I think I shot it about the same way I would if I had been shooting major. As you know, John, I'm normally a revolver guy, and so I never figure on being able to take extra shots, and now it's kind of a habit to simply get two decent hits on each paper and move on. Other than misses on steel targets, I think the only time I took extra shots on paper was on a stage with two distant swingers. I clonged the steel automobile silhouette on one shot, so I knew I'd need an extra, so I went ahead and whipped an extra round at both swingers. Looking back at my hits, I think they're approximately what I would have expected shooting a .45 with major loads--31 Cs and 9 Ds for the match--which is kinda so-so. I probably should have put more emphasis on getting A hits. On the plus side, I had no misses and only one penalty (a NS where my shot barely broke the line and still counted as a hit on paper). Even though the match design didn't really give it any meaningful advantage (I saved maybe two reloads the whole match by having 10+1, and I'm not sure they mattered much), I have to admit that I shoot my .38 Super a little better under pressure than I do a single-stack with major loads. My loads chronoed 128.8, and man they were super nice and comfortable to shoot. I think it helped me from getting clutchy on the trigger, which I tend to do intermittently on anything with a light single-action trigger and any sort of significant recoil. Thanks Mike
  15. Hey Mike, How do you think you shot the match? what I mean is, do you think you shot it a little more deliberate knowing you were shooting minor? or did you shoot it the way you would shooting major? This is just the kinda thing I am looking for in comparison.
  16. i have shot SS in the last two local matches. I am using a 9mm loaded with 10 rounders. There are not that many SS shooters that shoot with us, so I have been comparing results with production shooters. Things are pretty equal ( minor scoring, 10 rounds, almost the same equipment and placing ) I normally shoot Limited but thought this SS stuff would be fun. Well I am getting my Ass handed to me by the production guys. Maybe I am trying too hard to shoot all A s and being too slow. Should I speed up and let the chips fall where they may or just keep going the route I am on? I feel if I change to major I am just using a crutch to mask my abilities to shoot A s fast. What do you guys think? I will say, shooting minor is a definite eye opener.
  17. A friend of mine modified a 158gr wad cutter bullet mold and now he makes his own 230gr logs. He makes them for me but I really don't shoot pins any more. The load we used was 7.2gr of Blue Dot in a 38 special case. This load will take off the most heavy of pins. ( shot in a 5" 627 V barrel ) Good Luck!!

    Fusion

I am considering his stuff. his prices look real good.
  19. Hey guys, Just wondering if any of you know any thing about Fusion parts? Quality, finish ect. I am looking to buy a slide in 39/9, 5" and there price with sight cuts is pretty attractive. or, if any one out there has a half decant slide with sights or cuts I would be interested. Thanks Guys, John
  20. Hey Pete, You got too much time on your hands!! Take it from me, And I am sure Dave P would say the same. I f your going to shoot USPSA you need a 6 Shot wheelie, using an 8 shooter for USPSA is just asking for trouble givin the 7th shot would put you in open div. If you are going to do just plinking and the occasional steel/pin/Icore match then the 8 shooter is for you. Now, you have a big choice to make, 627 PC 38/357 or 38 super if you can find one, 327 PC which is very light in weight or the M&P which is also very light in weight. 6 shooters, 625 ( do not bother with the PC model, not worth the extra $$ IMO) is the most common in USPSA, But you have other choices as well, other People including my self and Dave P. Have gone another route, Dave uses a 610 in 40 S&W and that is what I used to shoot but found the N frame a little big for my hands (short fingers) I have gone with a converted 686 38/357 to 38 super. the frame on the L frame is a little shorter and the trigger pull distance is not as long. Soo many choices!!!!! Good luck in your decision. drop me a line or give me a call if you have any thing I could help with. John
  21. @ 5.6oz it does the job. I had one on my G22, but ended up with a Dawson heavy. BTW: PM on the way
  22. Sorry but they do not make a7 shooter in super. 6 ( L frame ) or 8 rounds ( N frame )
